We stayed on a Sunday and booked a dinner deal. We were not expecting it to be so good as the price was so reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised. The roast dinner was one of the best we have tasted in a pub. The roast beef melted in your mouth and the veg were plentiful and cooked just right. The room was comfortable, as was the bed, with extra pillows. In the morning the breakfast was just as good. Again, everything was cooked to perfection and good quality. The lady who served us was so friendly and helpful, as were all the staff we spoke to.

Nothing really. The pub and restaurant closed early but that wasn't a real problem as we were tired.

The location was ideal for our visit to Blenheim Palace and very characterful. Our room was perfect for our two night stay with everything there to make us feel comfortable. Our room was refreshed and bed made even though we had requested it. This was a very nice touch. The staff were warm and welcoming from check in to evening meal service and breakfast. The food was delicious and the portions very generous and good value for money. All in all a great experience.

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like but we did feel that our room was a bit tired, particularly the bathroom which probably needs replacing. The doors to the rooms probably need repainting to give them a refreshed look.

Great value breakfast - on booking, pay another 5 pounds for a good breakfast (recommend). Booked at fairly short notice so there was only a twin room available but that was ok as I was travelling on my own. Good location - not too far from Oxford. I headed to Sherwood Forest the next morning. Room was on the ground floor - there was a second floor but I think only stairs and no lift. Good sized restaurant on the property with a good selection of meals.

Nothing really - it looked like pricing varied night by night according to demand which is understandable.

My room was allocated as ground floor as I have access issues, and I was asked about my ability to step into a bath (to use a shower) which I'm able to do. The room was spacious enough, good lighting, had a small desk, and the bathroom was more than adequate and very clean. There was a lift up the stairs to Reception too, and it worked (and I've been to many places where it doesn't!) The dinner times were made clear and the food was delicious. I only wish I lived hearer to enjoy the food more frequently! Breakfast was pre-booked the night before when I checked in. Both days I customised my Full English and was not disappointed.

Only one small niggle was no electrical points by the bed, or at least that I could see by the bed, which is useful for charging phone overnight, and for people who use medical equipment at night. However, I'm sure if I'd asked they would have provided an extension cable.

Everything! It was welcoming, cosy, beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff were all really lovely, with excellent customer service, even though they were run off their feet. The food is divine and rooms are clean, comfortable and peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

The only thing I can mention is, that when I went to the bar to pay for our meal on the first night, the lovely man who had served us all evening, placed the card machine in front of me then walked off to do something else and then disappeared so I was left waiting for a receipt. I waited but he didn’t come back! So I ended up printing my own receipt! When it came to checkout, the bill for that meal was waiting to be paid at reception, luckily because I had already printed off my own copy of the receipt I could show that I had already paid it. It was an awkward moment that could have been avoided. But they were extremely busy that night so can understand it was a genuine mistake.

Very pleasant staff, they were always cheerful and very helpful. We had breakfast every day during our stay, there's a range of cereals, juices and hot options, which we were asked to preorder and book a time for. This can be changed as required. The lady who served us breakfast was lovely. We returned to the hotel for food on 2 of our 3 nights and it was excellent and reasonably priced. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and food can be eaten there or in the bar. It's about a 10 minute drive to the gorgeous village of Woodstock, loads of pubs and places to eat there too, although they can be quite pricey. Blenheim Palace is the same distance. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. If we were in the area again we'd definitely stay here!

The room was quite basic but functional and clean for a short stay. The towels weren't changed but this may have been an error on our part as I popped them over the towel rail and not in the bath. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Room was very clean. A good coffee/tea tray. The bed was a little soft but that is just personal preference. Pillows and duvet were excellent. We had breakfast both days. You choose in advance and there is a small continental offering. Breakfast was well cooked. We had dinner both evenings. The Indian menu was superb! The other menu was ok. WiFi was good. There is a bus to take you into Oxford which we used. It stops right outside on the way back and just around the corner on the way there.

As it was a cold day on our arrival, it would have been nice for the heating to be put on low. It did warm up but took an hour.

really large room. was worth getting the deluxe room with our two large suitcases that needed a complete repack. Good heating and the only heated towel rail we've found in the UK you get biscuits and water bottles every day too. the toiletries and towels were a bit more sparing though.

the design means that during rainy times you will be walking up steps and to your room in the wet because there is no veranda or roof. it was worth it for the larger room. the vegetarian breakfast can be just the normal breakfast with the meat missing. maybe an extra half a tomato.

The accommodation was clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated and the pub itself has a very interesting layout. We particularly enjoyed our breakfast which was more than adequate, well cooked and presented and brought to our table by a very pleasant gentleman. He obviously took his job seriously and was very courteous and paid attention to detail. The breakfast room was very tastefully decorated and comfortable and the bar area too was very nicely laid out. There was a good choice of beers etc , in the bar

We were very satisfied all round with our experience and would certainly stay there again and reported our findings to our family, should they ever need to recommend somewhere to stay to visitors to the area

Perfect location while I was working. Hotel was clean tidy and well maintained. Everything you would require in the room, lovely fresh towels. Tea and coffee, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The restaurant was superb a choice of homemade traditional food or Indian food menu. It was all well presented and yummy. We had breakfast as well after a comfortable night which was delicious. Thank you keep up the good work 👍

Nothing to complain about ~ very nice establishment
