Rooms were recently refurbished and so were finished to a high standard with everything clean and in great condition. Food in the restaurant exceeded our expectations... some original dishes on the dinner menu, as well as familiar meat and fish offerings. Very good.

Only one small nit-pick; there wasn't any easy chair in the room. Either sitting on the bed, or on a dining chair style seat. But that's a very minor point compared to all the other plus points.

The staff on arrival (and by telephone as I had some questions before arriving) were very very welcoming, helpful , smiling and very genuine. Could not have been nicer. The room was really inviting with some nice touches like nice tea and coffee, and cake on arrival. The aircon was very good (it was a hot day!). Bed very comfortable. Lighting good and not overcomplicated!

From arriving at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly after long difficult drive. The hotel was warm and cosy with a very relaxed atmosphere and the room offered everything for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard. The staff are very attentive and we enjoyed excellent food dining in the evening and for breakfast.

Lovely cosy and well designed hotel with great spaces to relax when in such a small area. Located within the beautiful Woodstock setting and providing beautiful service and food in the restaurant. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Really enjoyed our stay!

Only a small downside with parking being difficult but we found the free carpark nearby as a sufficient option.

We are regular visitors to the Feathers and its fair to say they never fail to exceed expectations !! Every part of the stay was fantastic and we were very well looked after by the whole team. The property and room were excellent and have all the facilities you could want. Additionally they are making numerous uplifts to the property which are certainly adding to the character of the property .... with minimum impact on your stay. But by far the best part of the whole experience was the staff !!! No request is too small and they look to go out of there way to make you feel welcome. Massive shout out to Lilla who is a superstar :)

This hotel is lovely. Its in a fabulous position and its very welcoming. The staff are amazing at this hotel, nothing is too much trouble - they will help with anything. It was a very pleasant check in process with my bags carried to the room. Also the restaurant staff are very polite, helpful and efficient. Again, nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed the roast lunch and the breakfast. The hotel is clean and bright and the dining room is particularly nice. Its warm and nicely decorated and eating in there is a very comfortable experience.

We found the bed a little bit uncomfortable but it was lovely and big. The room itself felt a bit 'tired' - ie the bathroom window was really but its an old hotel and we could see that the outside is having maintenance work done on it. The temperature in the room was perfect, the sheets were clean and crisp, the tv worked and we had water and biscuits. All the things you would expect in a quality hotel.

The Feathers is centrally located in Woodstock so handy for all village amenities, and also close to Blenheim Palace and Oxford. It has a lot of character being several very old buildings merged together. The current scaffolding situation temporarily detracts from the kerb appeal but is obviously necessary for maintenance. The bed was comfy with good bedding. Roomy bathroom. Nice touches like high quality toiletries, good beverage tray and cookies. The duty manager was very helpful.

Our room (23) was very dark with inadequate lighting - even with both lamps and ceiling spotlights on we needed a torch to read the newspaper! The dark decor didn’t help. Using the hot water in the bathroom washbasin initiated a pump which sounded very loud when used late at night/ early morning so I was concerned in case we disturbed our neighbours. I guess the plumbing is fairly unique given the age of the building! Some furnishings were rather tired.

Welcome st short notice , very flexible and accommodating of changes where necessary , attentive , understanding , excellent service and delicious breakfast . Our dog loved the snug in our upgraded suite ! A lovely stay and a surprise upgrade . Looking forward to coming again after they complete their refurbishment next year . A few black light shades but being changed , room phone extension needs fixing to reception . Otherwise perfect . A few DVDs would be nice as offered . A TV guide to operating SMART TV would help as we were not sure how to . Not a problem though .

Beautiful building, elegant . Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff.

It was very expensive to have a drink in the bar, would have liked to relax and have a couple of drinks and a bite to eat but just found prices too expensive!!

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of town. Although there is no parking attached to the hotel you can park on the street for free for a hour while you unpack. The receptionist directed us to a free, long stay car park just under 10 minutes walk away. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed in an annexe building - I assume that it was because we had our dog with us. The room was comfortable and full of old world charm. Breakfast was delicious and there was even a sausage for the dog!

There was nothing that we didn't like. The stairs in the annexe are steep because of the age of the building so some people might struggle, but we were OK.
