Stayed here with 15 others as a pre-wedding stay and night of stay too. Staff were excellent, from ease of check-in and helping to allocate the rooms so certain rooms were next to others through to check-out nothing was too much trouble. Had a big meal for 17 of us the night before the wedding which was lovely, everyone enjoyed the food and meals all came out together which is always good, but not always common, with big groups bookings. Our group ranged from the older generation through to toddlers and all were happy and comfortable. Would high recommend this place for any kind of stay and for any group!

The Red Lion is an ancient building, as are many in Adderbury, and the staircases are twisty! The central heating was working well, and a large controllable radiator in my room (Room 14) kept it warm, and toasty. I had a walk-in shower which worked well in a compact bathroom. A good wardrobe, which is something I like, with plenty of luggage storage space on top. Would I go back? Yes. Would I have the same room? Yes, very happy with room. The Breakfast is good, with plenty of choice and of fine quality. You will not go away hungry if you eat the Full Breakfast! The coffee is not to my taste, so I made my own. The Red Lion is part of Greene King, so the menu is the same as all the Greene King hotels; I will say that there are good chicken strips with BBQ sauce and good Chocolate ice cream. Real ale choice is limited to Greene King IPA and Speckled Hen, but both were good when I stayed. There are three other pubs in Adderbury, a Hook Norton Pub with good beer (The Bell) , a food pub which had Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and Landlord on while I was there. (The Pickled Ploughman) Very good food, I had superb duck breast there. The Coach and Horses is the last pub, and possibly the oldest, which is Wadworth's, with new licensees since last year. The 6X was excellent, and no-one who calls their dog Bilbo (Baggins) can be a bad person. The staff at the Red Lion were extremely good and helpful. Anything that was needed was provided if possible, and help was available as necessary. Finally, an excellent, secure Car Park, but the entry is narrow, so don't expect to take your Winnebago through it. Would I stay there again? Yes, I am already planning it!
The "heated" towel rail in the bathroom did not heat, and the exhaust fan was noisy. But these were minor matters that did not affect my use of the bathroom or room.

I have stayed here before a year ago - liked it so much that I returned as was in the ideal position for my work the following day. Staff were friendly and the pub was busy with regulars from the village as well with other travelers like myself. Stayed in room 7 - strange and unique - the bathroom is up with the Gods - you have to climb a staircase to it.
The only criticism is the stairs for the bathroom - not for the faint hearted or for those who have problems with their movement and definitely not for those who like a few jars before turning in as it would be one hell of a climb to break the seal. Having visited Holland many times - I have climbed easier Dutch staircases then that one.

There was a choice between continental and cooked breakfasts. We chose continental which was just right for us. We ordered extra fruit for our cereal which was no problem and there was plenty of hot coffee. We booked a table in the restaurant for the three evenings that we stayed and tried something different on the menu every evening. It was all delicious. The room was comfortable, the ensuite bathroom spacious. Friendly staff and good service. Plenty of parking through the archway at the back of the hotel. We have booked again for our visit to Adderbury in May. Already looking forward to it!
My husband thought the bed was a little hard and I could have done with a softer pillow, but I don't think any hotel can ever compete with one's own bed at home! :)

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was very well located right beside car park, which was also off street and plenty spaces. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and plenty choices. Lovely looking building
Quite expensive, but that's maybe just the going rate in the area. No bath just a shower which was disappointing after a long day travelling. Noise from stairs and room above was a bit annoying but to be expected I suppose

This pub is totally excellent, from the moment of checking in, to leaving your key at reception. It seems like a very good privately owned hotel, and a surprise it is owned by a large company. Greene King should let the team here train all their pubs. The menu is interesting, classics and new ideas. Delightfully served presented. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well equipped. (No biscuits however!) Breakfast well laid out and delicious. Thank you for making my two stays so lovely.

The Red Lion is an ancient building, as are many in Adderbury, and the staircases are twisty! The central heating was not working, but fan and convector heaters kept it warm, if not toasty. I had an interesting room with a bathroom that was up a full flight of stairs, so, interesting at night! A good wardrobe, which is something I like, with plenty of luggage storage space. Would I go back? Yes. Would I have the same room? Only if there was nothing else. Having said that, the room and Bathroom were good. The Shower worked well, which is frequently problematic. The Breakfast is good, with plenty of choice and of fine quality. You will not go away hungry if you eat the Full Breakfast! Could be more, better quality coffee, freshly made and hotter. The Red Lion is part of Greene King, so the menu is the same as all the Greene King hotels; I will say that there is good Chocolate ice cream. Real ale choice is limited to Greene King IPA and Speckled Hen, but both were good when I stayed. There are three other pubs in Adderbury, a Hook Norton Pub with good beer (The Bell) , a food pub which had Hooky and Landlord on while I was there. (The Pickled Ploughman) Very good food, I had superb duck breast there. The Coach and Horses is the last pub, and possibly the oldest, which is Wadworths, but the beer was indifferent at best when I visited and I cannot currently recommend it. It may be in a transitional state. The staff were extremely good and helpful with one exception. Anything that was needed was provided if possible, and help was available as necessary. Finally, an excellent, secure Car Park, but the entry is narrow, so don't expect to take your Winnebago through it. Would I stay there again? Yes, I look forward to it.
The heating was not working, so it was cold even with a convection heater. I bought a fan heater, which warmed the room up more quickly, but with everyone using heaters the electricity tripped out sometimes. This was not helped when a wall next to the car park collapsed and may have compromised the electricity supply. The upstairs bathroom was annoying rather than problematic, and it was a good bathroom. I was surprised by one thing. There were no, repeat NO, complimentary toiletries provided, no soap, shampoo, conditioner, anything. This is the first time I have stayed in a hotel, that this has happened. I always have my own, so again this was annoying rather than problematic, but it did surprise me.

Staff were friendly. The hotel itself was warm and welcoming with a very vintage feel. I was concerned that I would hear noise from both the bar and main road, but neither were any disturbance at all. The food, especially breakfast was simply superb and highly recommended.
A lot of noise generated by the floorboards on the main corridors so slight disturbance from people walking to and from their rooms, but minimal and wouldn't stop me from staying there again if I was travelling that way.
