Perfectly located room above a lively pub just across the footbridge from Windsor Castle. Although the building itself is clearly quite old, the room was clean and spacious, with tea and coffee provided. Comfortable beds and spotless bathroom with shower.
Not really a complaint, but visitors should be aware there's no onsite parking -- there's a "pay and display" car park a few blocks away, with free overnight parking. Also, the interior of the inn is labyrinthine, with tight stairwells that could be challenging for those arriving with lots of luggage.

The location was very good for us - close to Riverside station and the Castle. Adequate storage in the bedroom (though very little hanging space) and the ensuite facilities were excellent. Good beers - all from Windsor & Eton Brewery.
Food service was slow, both dinner and breakfast. The ancient sash windows and secondary double-glazing were rather uncooperative (but OK): we were there in a heatwave and wanted the window wide open at night. We were warned about noise, but it stopped at 11.00 pm as stated. The Wi-Fi was also uncooperative: phones connected OK, but my laptop wouldn't. There was no password, and a 'sign in' page that just consisted of a T&Cs box, but my laptop never displayed the page. Only a short stay so I didn't bother to enquire what the problem might be.

Great location and authentic British pub with a lovely welcome. The bar and restaurant is full of character with wooden floors and benches. The accommodation is upstairs via a narrow staircase and corridors, a proper pub. My single bedroom was cozy with everything including an iron, hairdryer, fan, kettle, tea and coffee, bottled water and a yummy biscuit. The en-suite power shower was a treat with lovely hot water. A welcome treat and the best shower I’ve had in ages.
The property and staff are great. The full English breakfast was the tastiest I’ve had in ages with the best scrambled eggs, quality bacon and ingredients. It was the perfect place to stay just over the pedestrian bridge from Windsor and you can see the castle from some of the windows. I’m used to sleeping in a king size bed, so a single always comes as a shock, but comfy and clean. The only thing I would have added was a blanket to pop over the lightweight duvet.

I had a question regarding parking at the hotel and spoke to Alan prior to my arrival. He was excellent and a great help. He recommended a local taxi company that would pick me up at the airport and therefore I wouldn't need a hire car and car parking facility. When I checked in at about 9.15pm, I was met by a wonderful woman who was polite, courteous and did everything with a smile. She took time to explain everything and was also able to make suggestions about where I might be able to get something to eat as I'd arrived too late for their restaurant. Overall, my experience with both of the staff was brilliant.
There was nothing that I didn't like. I had no complaints whatsoever. The room was very clean and met my needs. I got value for money.

Location was excellent only a few minutes walk to the river and ferries, five minutes walk to main shopping area, Windsor Castle and train station. Nice clean room with good size ensuite. This was the first accommodation in my whole trip, including hotels, which put out shampoo and conditioner, plus hot chocolate drinking powder. They also included body lotion, body wash, and delicious biscuits plus tea and coffee. I didn’t have a meal at this venue but they looked delicious. Staff were very cheerful and happy to assist. Offered to carry my suitcase up the stairs which was lovely.
There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like. It was an old building with older furniture. A fridge and air conditioning would have been good, but given the usual climate it is quite obvious why this, and most accomodations do not offer these.

Perfect location! I needed to be at Windsor racecourse for a walking event, and it was within easy walking distance (a really pretty walk, too!) The pub is lovely, the building really old & full of character. The floorboards creak, but I like that! My room was spacious, with a roomy bathroom...easily operated shower (always a plus!). Tea, coffee & bottled water provided. Nice firm bed, I slept really well, both nights ☺️ Breakfast is at additional cost, but it's not expensive, and the quality is superb! I have nothing bad to say about the George!
There was nothing that I didn't like! I will mention the stairs, though: quite steep, and slightly uneven, you need to take great care getting up & down. This is all part of staying in an old building, though, and did not affect my feelings about the property in any way.

Incredible location. Walkable to Eton College, Windsor Castle, dozens of great Pubs & Restaurants. Room was clean and had necessary amenities and features.
The stairwell (no lift) is very narrow and was hard to navigate with my large duffle bag. Because the In is above a busy Pub, it can be pretty noisy, but after 10pm was fine. The desk attendant offered to schedule a cab for my trip to the airport, but the cab was a no-show. Had to take an Uber.

In a great location bottom of Eton high street and just across the bridge from windsor, rooms are a good size , the pub does food which was lovely [didnt have breakfast] parking is expensive but very near to pub and even over night there was lots of cars parked so it did seem safe.On a tuesday at 11 in Windsor we watched the changing of the guards [including the Ghurkas] which was very enjoyable, plenty of pubs and restaurants most have same prices, the Ivy next to hotel was a great experience

Staff were great, especially Finn. Helpful on diet when we ate in the pub, as well as closing my bedroom window which I couldn't manage. Great value for the price. Very close to Windsor castle and the station, only just over the river. Pub food was good, though meals not included in booking
Could have done with a soap dish in the shower. Can't fault anything else except the outside noise overnight, but that was my fault for booking somewhere in Eton High street. People walking past talking loudly, cars and of course it's on the Heathrow flight path!

The George Inn is a very unique, charming, historical Inn situated over a wonderful Pub and Restaurant within walking distance of Windsor Castle, shops and restaurants.
The only negative about The George is that there are no elevators on the property and the stairs to the upper floor rooms are very steep and narrow. If you have any mobility issues at all, I would avoid staying there.
