Comfortable country house, beautiful location, staff are so welcoming, food is great. Facilities are clean and tidy, beds are comfortable and the rooms are styled nicely

Some parts of the room were a little tired. Would benefit from a bit of paint touch ups in places and perhaps usb charging points. Overall though, the hotel is stunning, well maintained and charming

The Deluxe room was spacious, The carepet was soft and clean. The bathroom was large and clean. The furniture was stylish. The staff were helpful and polite. The night manager helped us take our luggage to our room. There is plenty of parking. Over all the place is beautiful.

Unfortunately the whole place does not have aircon and we wouldn’t survive in the heatwave. We found someone’s dirty Calvin Klein sports underwear beside the bed a which was horrific but didn’t notice until we were about leave. Google maps will take you to the gate and stop, then you have top look for reception which is not clearly sign posted. I had the full English breakfast but there was only one fashion of each item on the plate apart from the bacon. The resturant staff were excellent.

Another fantastic find - a wonderful hotel with a superb restaurant with a great menu for all tastes - staff were friendly and interactive - great room and it was nice to stay in a hotel that didn't have restrictions on the windows being opened - one thing all travelers want is fresh air in their room. Also no lift - it is great to see that this old building hasn't succumbed to the laziness of modern living - I love a good stair case - best cardio you can do even for someone like me that suffers with sciatica. Gardens and grounds were well looked after. Really loved learning the history of the building as well - the moral of this building is never underwrite anything that states its invincible - as the chaos spanner of life will prove otherwise.

My only two criticisms - the ramp for those with mobility issues domineered the entrance and resembled a health and safety rope bridge and the car park was badly signposted and that the nearest car park to the building on arrival seemed to be taken up by private taxis awaiting guests - who seemed to have abandoned their vehicles rather than park them.

wonderful grounds, buildings, nicely decorated, room was spacious for a standard room, staff very friendly & helpful & professional, food - breakfast was good & plenty of choice, did not eat dinner as our stay was to attend a family gathering elsewhere, the hotel was exceptional for the price & would not hesitate to stay there again.

window had screen film on as had a balcony outside, ( not for use of our room ) so understand put there for privacy but it was tatty & opening the sash window did not allow you to take in the wonderful view of the grounds as it only opened a few inches, I would suggest maybe an internal shutter & no film would be a better option?. noisy fan & mirror light not working ( we informed staff) quite a hard mattress but that is a personal dislike.

We booked 2 rooms to stay with our 2 kids and our labrador dog. We were housed in a separate beautiful lodge with 2 adjacent rooms. The rooms and adjacent bathrooms were spacious and luxurious, the beds were very good so we had good night sleeps. Our dog was welcome in the bar and outside terrace and the flood served was delicious. For breakfast you can select what you would like to eat and it will be cooked for you, of course next to this you can still have yoghurt, viennoiserie (croissants etc.), muesli etc. The restaurant serves excellent a la carte dinner.

Location was quiet, grounds were nice, the decor felt festive. It was only a short drive into Woking. There was a nice walk into the local village through the golf course. Staff were nice, food was very good, including with gluten free options and there was a nice choice of breakfast each day. There was a bar to chill out in too.

It was a little draughty at times in public places as its an old building, the lounge didn't have a door that was closed, but went into reception area. There were fireplaces, but sadly no nice warm fire - especially as it was a very cold damp weekend. There was a wedding fayre on the Sunday, so we had to sit in the bar area of the hotel as we wanted to stay at the hotel that day as the main lounge area was in use. Room was cosy and bathroom nice but the bed was not that comfortable and there were no spare pillows in the room, so we had to ask reception, and the storage in the room was very minimal. There was a decent cupboard but no chest of drawers, only hangers. That is just a small detail though.

Service was absolutely exceptional, very welcoming and warm reception, excellent bar staff including the main Portuguese gentleman Felipe who was a character! People went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. Restaurant service and quality of food were exceptional. Definitely planning on returning and will bring my family

Perhaps a slightly updated breakfast options might be fun but still excellent full English breakfast

We have stayed here before several times and the staff have always been friendly and efficient. The hotel and grounds are well kept and tidy. Our room was an upgrade courtesy of the hotel manager Ian which was very much appreciated as it was our wedding anniversary, the room has it's own balcony overlooking the gardens. The food was good with a fair amount of choice and on a par with other hotels and restaurants cost wise. Gorse Hill hotel isn't too far from Woking and is in an ideal location. I would stay here again.

Not too much not too like. The one niggle could be the small steps into the bathroom, you need to make sure you pay attention but this could just be our room. We did and no trips hapoened.

The property, on approach looked amazing . It is stunning to look at , akin to a French Chateau and is set in the most beautiful, manicured garden . The staff , all staff were polite , friendly and professional. The room clean , spacious and comfortable overlooking the well stocked garden . Breakfast choices varied with cereals, juices , fruit and pastries . Very comfortable and enjoyable stay .

Really could do with a fridge in the bedroom. Couldn’t stay extra nights as they were fully booked .

We arrived about 7.30pm and we had 2 rooms, one was very good and the other not so. Giri on reception dealt with it instantly and also offered to move my bags to another room. Excellent service. We had dinner in the restaurant and we would were looked after by Maddie who was excellent. We were served an outstanding meal which exceeded our expectations by some distance. We left before breakfast but were most impressed and will definitely stay there again.
