The staff were very friendly and the free cookie on arrival was a nice touch. The whole hotel was very clean and tidy. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The room was very warm and there was no air conditioning or fan to manage this. Even with the window open all night it was still warm. When I initially booked it said there was a small amount of parking on site but only after booking did it state it was £15 a night, which made my stay more expensive then expected. It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room and a little more tea/coffee facilities.

Room was fab - really comfy bed we had a great nights sleep - room had everything you needed and the safe is always a bonus.

Breakfast selection was excellent - wish you would go back to cooked breakfast to order to ensure the food is piping hot. Know it is a convenient way to have everything to hand but the food does not stay hot enough!!!! Only grumble we have for this superb hotel and we have stayed here for several years for the racing at Sandown.

There was no lighting and no visible evidence of staff in the restaurant on Saturday evening, giving the impression it was closed. A major improvement could be achieved by the placing of low ambient table lighting. Bar staff were providing hospitality management with assistance from Reception when required. Apparently there is less demand for evening restaurant services at weekends. We required a meal for eleven people and the reaction of the team was to be commended as they couldn’t do enough to meet our needs. The buzz and obvious popularity witnessed at breakfast was a real contrast and highlighted the positive difference with the availability of waiting staff and restaurant management.

Central location for our trip really good. Very friendly staff. Good car park at hotel although limited spaces. Good food from restaurant. Nice room although a bit dated in appearance. Good size tv. Shower excellent.

Air Conditioning absolutely useless as no cool air making room far too warm and uncomfortable day and in the evening. Pillows very floppy with no support. Furniture in room worn and needs updating also bathroom looking worn also. Fridge ok but it was inside unit causing a huge amount of heat entering room.

Cheerful welcome at Reception and overall decor gave a very pleasing introduction to the hotel. We had not stayed in this hotel before but we will certainly do so again. The room was a good size and very clean: very happy. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were most helpful in what was a pleasant dining area.

The young lady helping in the bar (late evening) clearly needs more training. She did not know that names of some well-known spirits and was not aware of the size of measure to use. However, the young man running the bar clearly knew his stuff and was courteous with both customers and his less-experienced assistant.

Room was upgraded to queen suite. Beautiful large room which was immaculate. Bed was super comfortable with soft sheets and pillows. Bathroom had a bathtub and shower, so you could relax either way at the end of the day. As it was in the middle of the town the accessibility to shops and restaurants was fantastic.

Only gripe was the door between our room and the adjacent. When the neighbour room came back at 12:30 am, they were so loud and you could hear them for ages. If that door hadn’t been there it would have been perfect.

Staff were friendly and personable. This was consistent at check in and check out. Breakfast was very well presented, with a great range of food choices and looked appealing. Staff were flexible when we made a request. The service standard went across departments - a customer service culture was evident.

It would have been good to be able to get a snack late in the evening (10pm) after we returned to the hotel.

Good breakfast. Nice staff. I could get the red button on Talking Pictures TV so could get catch up Tele something I have never got at any other hotel. Random I know but excellent. Nice touch of giving a gluten free cookie when I arrived.

The room was not a quiet one as I had families near me but you cannot tell how noisy guests will be and it was quiet after 11pm so no harm done.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. As a Hilton member I was upgraded for free. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and had a fridge and kettle. The location is great, near the train station, shops and restaurants. I had a short trip to Paris, the hotel manager allowed me to leave my suitcase for 3 days (between my two reservations at this hotel), this helped me a lot. Big thanks to all the staff!

A standard Queen room doesn’t have a fridge but as I said before I was upgraded for free and my new room had a fridge.

Very clean, quiet and helpful staff.

My sister and I had a twin bedded room, bed was a bit hard, only one pillow on the beds no extra in the cupboards or blankets, felt the duvet was thin. Didn't think to ring down for extra. Food was varied, very well cooked but expensive. We are senior citizens and felt the use of the key cards weren't properly explained. But altogether we enjoyed our stay. For us we could have done with a 'greeter'. It was quite busy.
