Problem for me was that bedroom was without AC!!! plus one more: too many gypsies were their children "walked on their heads" without any supervision, destroying everything.

The staff everywhere (reception, housekeeping, ground staff, restaurants) were wonderful with our son. They were kind and friendly. Maintenance came quickly and resolved a problem with the heating in our bathroom. The grounds were beautiful and tidy. We enjoyed a wonderful walk. The gym, swimming pool and spa were all really good. Our son went swimming daily, and toys were available which was appreciated. The spa treatments were excellent. Food in the Fox Dining room was amazing, especially the veggie food! We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea too.

The role playing high street was nothing more than a large play kitchen and some dressing up clothes. The room/suite was a bit dated and needs a refurbishment. No smart tv, no appropriate dvds for a young child. That said, we were more relaxed about staying in there with a toddler as the sofa and carpet were already stained. No child cutlery or cups at the restaurants, which was surprising for a family venue. Super easy fix from Ikea.

Almost everything. Beautiful environment, rooms and spa. Fantastic staff, attentive and friendly. The outdoor pools and jacuzzi are a treat, and the grounds are lovely to walk in. Delicious food and quality drinks available, afternoon tea was exceptional.

A few tiny gripes with the room; neither TV nor the small radio worked, we couldn’t find a room thermostat. The main restaurant, whilst extremely beautiful, was also very echoey and loud. This was tolerable during afternoon tea though we struggled to hear each other, but in the evening a party including several small children made it very noisy in the main area, even though they were in the “private room”. It was only really shut off by a curtain. I needed to wear noise reducing ear plugs for comfort. The rooms could do with some tapestries, ceiling baffles or more curtains to soften the acoustics. This was our only real issue though, everything else with dinner was wonderful.

The room was very comfortable, the beds and sofa especially. The food and wines in the lounge and both restaurants (Nineteen and Fox Dining) were very good. The gym was fantastic, featuring all new equipment and lots of different workout areas. I personally did not use the spa facilities, but my husband and daughter said the outdoor heated pool was great. The staff were very helpful and quick to respond to queries.

I did not think the overall experience justified the prices - the breakfast buffet is ultimately very small, the coffee wasn't good and they had run out of menu items when we came to eat on our last day. The restaurants and coffee shop are not especially modern or elegant, and the service was not always great. We were seated for dinner at the Fox Dining rooms and had to wait for quite a while to have our drinks order taken even though there was only one other table occupied.

Breakfast was good as was dinner. Nice pre dinner bar. Rooms good size but bathroom needs bit of modernising. Sink had cracks. Golf facilities amazing. Spa good but overpriced.

Could benefit from additional evening food option but not a complaint. Main downfall is facilities for older kids I.e 10-15 is limited. Caters well for young kids. Pre and early teens have little options other than golf. Disappointed with indoor pool facilities expected larger more equipped pool for families. Shame accommodation is separate so have to go in a out in evening and am.

We requested a room close to the area where we were attending a wedding an were given Room 1 which was a brilliant location. We really appreciated this as it made our stay at the hotel a lot easier. Terrace and bar area and then later on the clubhouse - all lovely areas for the wedding we attended.

At breakfast there was some confusion when my husband requested decaf coffee. We were told this couldn't be provided and had to be ordered from the bar which would mean an additional cost (our room rate included breakfast). We ordered the coffee anyway but were suprised and disappointed that we had to pay extra. However, a few moments later the waiter returned to say the decaf coffee could be included in the breakfast at no extra cost. So we were pleased it was resolved.

Beautiful property and grounds. Room and bathroom was very nice. Great breakfast!

Didn't realize it would feel a bit "country club" at the Pavillion area. The pool at the Pavillion had a lifeguard on duty, but also if your child wasn't 8 or older, a parent had to be in the pool with them. One of my daughters is 5 and a very good swimmer, so that was a little off putting. We ended up going to the pool by the hotel grounds, and that one was much warmer, and no lifeguard so there were no rules, which was perfect. If there was some sort of bar/food service at that pool, I'd give this place a 10/10.

Foxhills was so lovely we went for my birthday just before Christmas. I loved it so much I've already booked for next years birthday. It's a fantastic hotel for families with kids. The facilities are great my boys loved the soft play area and the swimming pool. The crèche service is brilliant and allowed me and my husband time to enjoy the Spa each day. The restaurants were all lovely and had a great selection of food for the kids. The cocktails in the bar were amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The welcome we received from Anne. She is incredibly rude as we’ve stayed a few times this came as a shock. I’ve never had someone question our dinner reservation in terms of feeding my children, she does not know what they eat and whether it’s suitable for me. The booking stated pay during your stay and Anne insisted I should make payment the minute I’ve arrived, another kind receptionist allowed a pre auth whilst I waited for my husband who wasn’t with me for check in. She left me waiting after telling me “room isn’t ready” no explanation as to why or that I could wait in lounge. It was a completely different welcome to the many others we’ve had and very disappointing as a returning client.

On the whole hotel and grounds staff exceptional. Breakfast a la carte menu left a lot to be desired; head for the continental… Someone needs to have a word with the breakfast chef lol Golf facilities outstanding - just make sure you check into hotel ‘before’ teeing off or refunding the difference between hotel resident rates and non hotel resident rates is a play off between which golf shop assistant happens to be on the till at the time.

Inconsistency between hotel and golf pro shop. Golf pro shop needs to be more informed about what the hotel can and can’t refund.
