We stayed for a theme park trip and couldn’t have picked a better spot – within walking distance of Thorpe Park and Chertsey town centre, and just a short drive to Chessington. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the pizza we had at the hotel restaurant was genuinely lovely. The fresh bottles of water each day were a really thoughtful touch, especially in the summer heat.
The Wi-Fi only worked in one specific corner of the room, which made it awkward to stay connected. Plug sockets were limited – one was tucked underneath a bed, and we only found it by chance. The TV didn’t work at all during our stay, which wasn’t a deal-breaker as we were mostly out, but it would’ve been a nice option in the evenings.

I booked this to take my 3 teenaged children to Thorpe Park, it's apparently the closest hotel to the park which was ideal, literally a couple of minutes drive, perfect for teenagers who take an age to get ready. My boys are no longer able to stay in a family room with me in Premier Inn due to being 17 but since they have autism and learning difficulties I feel more comfortable if we can share, it was also nice to be able to watch a movie together, and this was the main reason I chose this hotel. The family room at The Olde Swan was also cheaper than 2 Premier Inn rooms. I was lucky and managed to book it only a few days before our trip. The bed was really comfy, I often wake up with a sore back but I didn't after my sleep here. Tea and coffee facilities were good and offered with packs of cookies. The room was spacious and clean. The staff in the restaurant were really friendly and helpful, and the manager offered to carry my holdall up to the room when we checked in. The food in the restaurant was nice and reasonably priced. Would stay again and would recommend.
Needs more plug sockets in the room, I couldn't plug anything into the socket next to to where the TV was plugged in so I had to unplug that and the kettle, as we had 4 phones to charge and a hearing aid. The pub downstairs is quite small with limited table space and we had to wait about half an hour for a table so we could eat, this wasn't really a problem and the staff were helpful and friendly, we just waited at the bar. There is no breakfast served, again not really a problem, we were recommended Joe's Cafe a couple of minutes round the corner.

Room was spotlessly clean. For a triple room, there was ample space. The beds were really comfy, we all slept fantastically. Didn't eat at the hotel, but the menu looked hearty (ate at a nearby Japanese, there is plenty to choose from in walking distance). No breakfast available, but across the road was a great bakery. Staff were lovely and friendly, very amenable. And the car park at the back of the hotel was a bonus! 3 minute drive from Thorpe park (the reason for our visit). Lovely, old building, with a very interesting bar! Couldn't have gone smoother.
Only thing that could've been better was bigger bath towels... (although the linen smelled lovely and fresh!) and maybe invest in some better tea bags.

The close proximity to Chertsey train station, Thorpe Park, and several nearby shops & restaurants. I also liked the tea/coffee making facilities (especially the fact that it included biscuits).
The room got quite warm, despite it not being excessively warm outside (and the radiator was covered so I couldn't check if it was on). The bathroom taps and shower were also not as powerful as I'd have liked, but I imagine that comes hand-in-hand with the age of the building and its plumbing.

We stayed at the hotel as it was down the road from Thorpe Park. It cost £115 for a room for the three of us, and to be honest for the price I wasn't expecting much. When we arrived after a 3 hour drive we were warmly welcomed and taken straight to are room. The room had 3 single beds and the room was a very good size. What stood out was that it was spotless and it had coffee / tea, ironing board, fans and all the bathroom soaps and shampoos etc. We decided to eat in the pub downstairs before going out that evening, It was lovely, service at the bar was quick and the man who looked after us kindly offered to put the drinks on the table tab and for me to just settle at the end. I didn't have to ask for this which was a nice little touch. The food was great, good portion and very sensible price. They do send a email when you book to say that its a 16th century pub so you may here noise from the pub downstairs or the road outside at night. We didn't hear a thing to be honest and we all had a good sleep. All in all for £115 which was a room for 3 it was outstanding value, and if we go to Thorpe park again I would absolutely stay there - THANK YOU for such a lovely stay.
I cant think of anything

Lovely, helpfull owner, stayed as visiting Thorpe park, location is brilliant! Comfortable clean beds and fan provided in room as it was very hot during our stay. Plenty of shops and eating places on your doorstep.
Not a major issue but bath towels were quite small, its an old building which is fine but the lock on the door to the actual room was a bit loose and wobbly, didnt seem too secure but it did do the job.

Excellent Value - Simple accommodation. Perfect for our needs. We had a triple room and it was nice one of the beds was separated - But there was no window. and no window in the bathroom which made it extremely hot (but we were in the middle of a heatwave so not a complaint!). We paid a good price for somewhere to lay our heads for the night. Nothing else needed.
Bathroom very small with no windows - but was sufficient amongst friends.

Good value for a room above a pub. Room looked recently updated, was clean and comfortable. Felt secure and even fronting onto the main road wasn't too loud. Staff all seemed friendly and attentive. Stayed due to the ease of public transport from London to the pub, and we were visiting thorpe park, so was very easy from the accommodation location.
Literally nothing bad, for what it is, it's been done very well and they should keep it up!

Lovely quaint little pub with friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Well equipped with a kettle, tea/coffee/sugar/milk/bottled water, toiletries, and a fan.
If I had to be picky...there was a sewerage smell from the bathroom, and the noise from the road outside was loud. The car park wasn't straight forward to find and a large/wide car would likely be unable to get through the bollards!

I liked the location of the hotel to the local takeouts, we would have ordered food in the pub downstairs but had arrived after the food cut off time. The staff were very welcoming to us. We went down to the bar after settling in and the atmosphere was great, we tried to come back before leaving to come home but couldn’t unfortunately.
The only concern was that with it being an old building the glass on the windows seemed very thin and at times if sounded as if the windows were open.
