The proprietors at Old Manor House were so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. It was interesting to stay in a house built in the 1500s. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. Bathroom worked well, and the heat was on without having to ask (nice towel warmer in the bathroom). Very good breakfast, made to order at the time you arrange the night before. There is a spirit of generosity here. I stayed here before flying out of Heathrow the next day, and it was convenient to the airport (only 15-20 min to rental car return).

Tom and Fran were exceptional hosts. By mistake we arrived hours before we were expected but, whist Fran prepared the room, Tom gave us tea in the garden and entertained us with his extensive knowledge of the history of the house. The house itself was amazing, crammed with art, antique furniture and really interesting books. The King’s Room was fabulous with lovely garden views through the beautiful, huge windows. The bed and bed linen were extremely comfortable and we slept very well. The bathroom was spotless with an enormous rainfall shower over the bath. Everything you could possibly need for a stay was provided. Breakfast was cooked by Tom and was delicious and plentiful. We had a really pleasant overnight stay and wished we could have stayed on!

A truly charming stay in a beautiful period house, full of character and history. The creaky wooden floors and staircase whisper stories of the past, and every corner is adorned with lovingly chosen vintage treasures. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming — Fran waited for us until nearly midnight after our long drive, and made us feel at home instantly. In the morning, Tom treated us to a delicious full English breakfast and saw us off with a smile. A warm and memorable stop on our two-week journey through the UK — we couldn’t have asked for a more delightful place to stay.

If I had to mention one quirk, it would be the traditional separate taps for hot and cold water — a true British classic that I’m still learning to love!

A wonderful historical house, filled with an eclectic collection of antiquities. The owner/manager was welcoming, friendly, and full of useful and interesting information - about the history of the house as well as the local area. The room - and bed - was very comfortable, the full English breakfast was delicious and we were very much made to feel at home. A problem with the hot water occurred - but we recognised that that was beyond the control of the hosts, and it was fixed as soon as humanly possible. We highly recommend this property, and would absolutely stay again.

Fantastic hosts (Tom & Fran) who made me feel at home and ensured my stay was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was superb, Tom freshly cooked me up a lovely Vegan friendly breakfast each morning, which was delicious and set me up nicely for a full days work. I was also offered plant-based milk for my room for tea & coffee on arrival which was a nice touch. The property is gorgeous and dripping with history and character, has a nice sized car park out the front and a lovely large garden area to the rear where I imagine its lovely to sit on a nice evening. The bed was very comfortable and the room extremely quiet and comfortable.

Nothing to report, everything was fab!

The location is ideal, if you have a car or don't mind walking for a few minutes. The busy road in front of the property cannot be heard inside due to the high hedges and thick walls. The owners are lovely and up for a chat. We were in the sewing room, which is a corner room with views of the large garden and the front yard. It was a big, cosy room with ample storage and a comfy bed. The breakfast was the highlight each day! Full English as requested with yummy veggie sausages, French press coffee and fresh milk - the perfect start into the day. It was nice sharing the large dining table with the other residents and talk over breakfast. It feels like a home from home environment, which we really enjoyed!

The only (!) downside: we would have liked to be able to shower in the morning, but there was no shower curtain. It did not bother us, but please keep in mind that the manor house is over 100 years old and the floor boards squeak.

I felt like a lady of nobility and was transported back to a gorgeous time in history, just for one night. The Old Manor House oozes history and character. Why would you want to stay in a soulless hotel chain, when you can stay here for the same price. You wouldn’t think London and Heathrow was on your doorstep. Breakfast was a real treat! This is a rare experience and afforable find, which I selfishly want to keep secret, so that I can book easily again! Tom and Fran were warm, friendly and confident hosts - thank you for opening up your beautiful home for us to experience.

Perhaps mattress topper on beds for that extra sumptuousness.

This has been my third visit to Old Manor House now , Tom and Fran are always were attentive and welcoming . Toms cooked breakfast is always something to look forward to , and the beds always feel so comfortable , and I always feel so at home when I stay , so much so , I would recommend to anyone .

There is nothing that I could say I really didn’t like !! What you have to bare in mind when you stay at old manor house , is the fact that it was built in the 16th century , so the fact that some of the floors are out of level and the floorboards creak , to me , this all ads to the wonderful quirkiness of the property .

Wow it is beautiful, full of historical charm. Our hosts were so welcoming, a delight. We left as friends. The breakfast is wonderful. Looking forward to returning

Tom and Fran were so friendly, so the conversation flowed! The building is hundreds of years old, so comes with its own quirks, but that actually adds to the experience IMHO! The room we stayed in is very spacious, and the bed extremely comfortable! The breakfast quality is outstanding!!! Very good value for money, and, overall, highly recommend...

Nothing really! Couldn't find ITV on the room television, but can't really mark down for that..
