Excellent location, superb restaurant and historic house. The amenities were great, good showers and heater. Staff was amicable and cleanliness was spot on

It can be noisy early in the morning as it's in the middle of the touristic area and the first tourists get around early in the day so if you want to sleep in it might be difficult. Still would recommend this hotel with that caveat.

Our room was large, clean, comfortable and made for a restful night. The staff was also extremely accommodating and attentive. We opted for lunch and dinner in the Charco Bistro and were not disappointed. There was enough variety on the menu that neither meal was repetitive, and every dish was well executed. The wine list was also excellent and interesting. Overall, we felt that the hotel & and the restaurant were the best options in town for our overnight trip because it was obvious both were operating at a higher level than other places in town.

Cost of rooms was on the steeper side, given the amenities provided, but was still the best option.

Room was very confortable, good breakfast and food at the restaurant, and good service overall. Very cozy hotel. Great location and quiet street.

Would have liked to have the outdoor facilties and ammenities more available. Have the terrace with the sofas ready to use, fire on, and possibility to drink something outside even with the cold weather (the service was only inside the restaurant when we stayed). Was fun to have bikes available but they were not clean and set up, anyways good for a ride around the town and boardwalk.

It is a very charming boutique hotel in the middle of ole Colonia del Sacramento. The staff is super friendly. The room was enormous with a nice sitting area.

Breakfast could start a little bit earlier. We had to rush to catch the ferry back to Buenos Aires.

Very central hotel in the old part of Colonia with a lot of character. It had its own restaurant and garden with a bar area great for sitting and looking out at the River Plate. Food in the restaurant was good but reserve early for the tables with a view. Breakfast was excellent as I am Coeliac an effort was made to provide gluten free bread and other options such as yoghurt and fruit. Loved our couple of days in Colonia and it was great to go back to the hotel garden after hiking around the town and chill with a glass of wine and watch the ferry boats coming and going.

Everything about our stay at Charco Hotel was excellent. The room was quiet and cool, the bed very comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. We recommend dining in the Charco's restaurant. The food is outstanding and the environment unbeatable.

Our only regret was that we booked to stay only one night. Colonia is such a beautiful place that we should have planned to stay longer. Next time...

Good breakfast and dinner. Nice setting (the garden looked like it would be a nice spot to relax on a hot day). The bed (room 2) was huge and super comfortable (seriously thick mattress that was just perfect - not springy, not hard).

Hotel Charco exceeded from the beginning! We got there a bit late, but reception was there and happy to see us. The property is divided into two parts - with part on one side of a small street connected to the restaurant, and then a separate building with three units. We were in the separate building, with street front access. Once in from the street the building was a quiet oasis of luxury. The pool was right off our room, and from the balcony the waterfront could be seen and enjoyed. I'd have loved to have stayed longer, but for only an overnight transferring from BA to the eastern coast, Charco's location was perfect. It is in the UNESCO zone of Colonia, with many historical elements of the city steps away. The breakfast was great -- it is a la carte versus buffet, and a menu of options were given. We each selected an item, but when our order was taken we learned that we could each get one of everything! Bread, eggs, yoghurt, etc. We were able to leave our bags when we went to get lunch (go to La Reina!) and our car, which was very convenient and they were very helpful getting our bags to our room, back from our room, and into the car.

We were only there for one night, so take this with a grain of salt as possibly an uninformed opinion, but when we got to our room and the pool, it seemed a bit unattended... murky and meh. (I went in anyway and had no ill effect!) The next morning they were there cleaning the pool, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of the historic center of Colonia, the breakfast was superb and the food in the restaurant also great. Staff was super kind and a highlight.

A little pricey for what it was, especially given the facilities. Pool is small and was pretty dirty when we saw it - didn't feel like asking to get it cleaned. They should pay more attention to it.

Great that they loan bikes to residents. Room v large & comfortable.

No swimming pool, no tea-making facilities in the room (only coffee) & breakfast isn’t served until 8am (though they did provide a selection of random breakfast foods in my fridge the night before due to my early check out which was very nice of them)
