I like that there’s a grocery shop and a gas station right in front of the property, but the best part is that it’s just a short drive to the Big Pine Lake trailhead. The room itself is spacious, and the bathroom is too—which is a big plus for me..👌🏻😌

The only downside was that the AC was a bit noisy, which made it harder to fall asleep, and the labels on the controls were faded, so adjusting the settings wasn’t easy. I also noticed one tiny bug in the bathroom just as we were leaving—not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

Comfortable bed. Convenient location. The room has fridge and coffee machine, it is very helpful to start the hiking journey with your own breakfast before heading to hike early.

AC is a bit loud. Check-in process is confusing, received an email that for late check-in I just needed to get into the room, and it was supposed to be opened with a key inside, but in fact the room was closed, and the guy from Chevron gas station had the key and let me in.

A classic Motel, with a worn off look on the outside, but a surprisingly nice and tidy interiors. The room was large and comfort for 5 people. Basic, but very clean. The fact that the adjacent minimarket is open 6am to midnight is just great: they have all you need, including very good daily cooked food. Good value for money!!!

Under bed linens and pillow cases there are plastic protections, that feels very, very unconfortable. The exteriors couls use a bit renewal. The room door doesn't feel safe at all.

A USA motel but very clean and well serviced by the staff in the garage on site which has a wide-ranging shop like a supermarket. Fantastic smokey bbq beef from the Copper Tubs grill 1 minute drive down the road - just fantastic. Nice high ceilings, parking by the door. Closest acom to Bristlecone Pines

Room doors a bit flimsy, would like to see an upgrade to a more secure door. Drive in entrances and seating area could do with a re-vamp and some privacy shading, bushes or the like.

Staff friendly and the gas station nextdoor is handy. Clean enough and beds are comfy. Plenty of space. Price reflects the room and is worth the money.

Kitchen was not very well equipped. I think there was one cup? Decor a little tired but not unpleasant. I thought the location was low pine when I booked but then realised it was midpines. Great as a cheap stop off while driving through but wouldn't stay for multiple nights

We did a roadtrip so we ended up in Big Pine looking for a comfortable place to sleep one night and leave the day afrter. We chose the Bristlecone Motel because it seemed like a good accommodation in relation to value for money and so it was. The house is really big, there were many beds and they were all comfortable. The house had everything we needed, in fact we were able to cook our own food in the house, and wash the dishes as the house already had some things to clean. It was particularly windy that night so we heard some noise during the night but this depends on the weather conditions. The area is fairly quiet and close to a local residential area. Check in was very quick as was check out. You have to do the procedure at the service station next to the gas station. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom mobile, which was huge - it could easily accommodate 6-7 people and probably would not feel crowded. The kitchen had everything we needed and the motel is right next the the gas station which also has a well-stocked market and stays open late (the “front desk” is the gas station checkout!). There is also a regular grocery store across the street that closes early and a coffee shop that will gladly serve you a daily dose of sarcasm! The master bedroom had a huge bath tub and plenty of hot water. Wish I had brought some bubble bath and some epsom salts as I had done a 9-mile hike the day before at high elevation. There is also a BBQ grill and a covered space in the back of the mobile home with a table and chairs. Plenty of parking for multiple cars. Another thing I liked is the mobile home is part of the motel, so no annoying AirBNB or Vacassa nonsense or extra fees to deal with.

Nothing!

This is the second time we stayed at this motel. Good value for money, the guy at the front desk, was very polite and helpful. Really like this place over others because they're dog friendly and there is no extra charge (tired of being fleeced by other hotels for traveling with a dog). Will def stay again should we return to the Big Pine area. The washroom is rather huge so that's a plus too.

The fitted sheet kept coming off with the slightest movement, so maybe time to replace those. (Super annoying) Random side note, please bring cable tv back (streaming services were super slow cuz internet isn't exactly vroom vroom lol)

It is a quaint little motel in a quaint little town. The room has a fridge. It is conveniently located at the gas station/mini-mart. The mini-mart is well stocked. The people are friendly.

The blackout curtain wouldn’t open, which wasn’t that bad but I couldn’t have natural light in the morning. The room was a little rundown and there were holes in the wall in the bathroom and a lot of cobwebs in the corners. If I had paid $30-$40 less I would have expected the rundownness of the room, I suppose.

The property was decent and adequate. Quite comfortable and centrally located for my purposes. About the staff-I can’t speak any more highly about them. I forgot my camera bag with expensive and precious camera gear. They found it, kept it safely, packed it and mailed it back to my home 350 miles away.

I’m a big fan of the staff…nothing negative to say!
