The room was clean and really lovely, and the staff were a delight. They couldn't do enough to help. Definitely something which the hotel should be proud of. We had a few drinks in the bar in the hotel, which was also really nice.
The air conditioning unit was faulty in our room and was very, very noisy. We ended up having to change rooms at 1.00am in the morning! Not ideal when we had a long drive the next day. Such a shame. There are a large amount of homeless people living in the central square adjacent to the hotel. This did make the area feel very sketchy. It would've been so helpful if during my enquiries before we arrived at the hotel, someone had told us where the hotel parking was. It turned out to be very simple and easy - in the marked bays in the adjacent small multi-storey car park next to the hotel.

This beautiful hotel is becoming dated. Great location, but locked in a time capsule of a former travel period.
Only two usb ports as part of the alarm clock. The smallish coffee maker was on the bathroom vanity. The shower was too dark to read the labels on the shampoo containers. The 3 people in our party received only 2 vouchers for food. The breakfast was a complicated method of what to put on your omelette, and nothing else on the menu, take it or leave it. (Nobody was eating breakfast at the hotel at 8:15am, hint, hint) So, we went down the street to Mom’s, which was amazing, and we had to wait in a short line to be seated.

A beautiful hotel with really nice interior and furnishings...in the lobby area and in each room. Very comfortable, spacious and unique rooms. Front staff was always friendly and helpful. The location was perfect and walkable to shops and restaurants (although most shops were closed on Sunday). The food at the restaurant was very good.
We received coupons for the restaurant and bar, but were not able to use them all in one day; however, the next day both restaurant and bar were closed.

The room was attractively furnished with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. Everything seemed new and exceptionally clean. The friendly staff were very helpful unloading bags from our car, answering our questions, and being at the door whenever we entered the hotel. Free parking was provided next door in a private garage. The decor of the entire hotel is beautiful. Delicious omelettes and scrambled eggs, made to order with lots of fixings, are part of the complimentary breakfast selections. The downtown location central to many good restaurants can’t be beat.
A few glitches… air conditioning was so loud it was difficult to carry on a conversation in the room; the shower knob came off while showering, and the elevator wasn’t working when we arrived. (However, the elevator was fixed a few hours later.) Except for the air conditioning, these problems were minor. We were told that not all rooms are connected to the same air conditioning system. I would definitely stay here again, but would immediately check the noise level of the HVAC and try to change rooms if necessary. In fact, we were offered a change of rooms, but decided against it since we had already unpacked.

The location of this historic hotel with a lot of atmosphere is excellent. We got a king suite on the top floor, the location was very private and quiet. Even though it was a Thursday after Christmas the lounge/bar was full with people, and the restaurant is also very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful, and downtown Chico, with many nice restaurants and shops is right outside. We could charge our car over night in their parking garage which was an extra plus.

Loved the high ceilings in the room. Beds were very comfortable and amenities, such as make up remover, robes, hair dryer, tv, etc. were all appreciated. We had really good drinks in the bar after dinner downtown and the location was perfect for visiting our daughter who attends Chico State. We walked everywhere and didn't have to use our car at all during our stay.

The room was perfect with one exception. We arrived o. The train at 4:30 am and were received by staff at that ungodly hour. Thank you! And we extended our stay by checking out at three. It gave us a place to rest and clean up during our not even full day in Chico. Its proximity to the college that we came to tour could not have been more convenient.
My daughter and I both found the pillows to be too thick and thick to comfortably sleep on them.

I love this place! Second time staying here for a rave at the Senator Theatre; the staff is incredibly friendly. The rooms are always spotless. They even fold the first square of the toilet paper! Fiji water in the room that will get you charged 5 dollars if consumed was cool too.
The bed frame was old so it made a lot of noise; hardly something to complain about, though..

Location! The hotel is located in the historic downtown area of Chico. There are many bars, restaurants, boutiques all within walking distance from the hotel including Chico State. A bonus was the made to order breakfast included with the room.
Firm large pillows on bed were uncomfortable.

Lovely building, furnishings, and decor. Room cozy and comfortable. Staff helpful, and nice breakfast. Location perfect as we were attending a symposium on the CSUC campus.
Lack of decaf coffee at breakfast, and lack of a microwave in the room.
