This place was perfect for our needs, as a family of three. We were very comfortable in the king-sized bed and Dev and housekeeping were so helpful in getting us some extra sheets and blankets so our son could sleep on the very comfortable pullout couch. It was so handy to have the little kitchen: we heated up pizza from the night before in the toaster oven! We had a great soak in the hot tub.

The location was very convenient for getting into Mendocino and surrounding beaches, while paying about half what you would at a place in Mendocino itself. Here’s a story about the truly amazing service at Shoreline Cottages: I managed to leave several valuable items of clothing in the dresser and didn’t realize until I’d driven back to the Bay Area. Well, I reached out to Dev about the problem, who then coordinated with Maria to have the items shipped to me! Such nice people!

Privacy, self check-in and out, location. Friendly staff that I was fortunate to meet. The enclosed patio with picnic table and the fireplace. Strong wifi.

The self check in instructions should be sent prior to the date of arrival. My credit card was charged the full amount 3 days prior to arrival. The instructions should be sent at least 24 hours, especially since there's no staff on site after 3 pm. I received the text message of instructions after I had already gained the access of the room with the help of an on-site staff. The following day, I helped another traveler with her check in. She didn't receive anything either.

The mattress was too soft for me. I’d prefer a more supportive mattress. The jets in the tub didn’t work and neither did the fireplace. The fireplace was something that we would have liked to use for ambiance. My partner was disappointed that the jets in the tub didn’t work.

Love this pet friendly property! Great location. Super comfy bed. The room is lovely with nice linens and a soothing beachy vibe. Love having the outdoor picnic area as part of the suite.

Outside hasn't been kept up as well as it has been in the past. Grass is dead and weeds are overgrown. Outdoor bbq area could use some seating/tables.

I love this place. My cottage was perfect for me and my dog. They even offered a basket with dog blankets and bowls. The bed is way comfy and there's a pretty, faux fireplace on which you can select colors and heat setting. There's a kitchenette with a stove, oven, and fridge. All the dishware and cookware you could want. It's cozy, especially when the mist rolls in. The only downside is that it's not on the beach.

The localization was good and the cottage would be especially good if you were going to stay for a few days and planned to do any cooking.

The following is a pet peeve of mine, and will not be important to most people! The door to the refrigerator opened from the wall side to the center of the kitchen so that you had to maneuver around it in order to get things out of the refrigerator. However, the door on the refrigerator in the cottage we stayed in was a reversible version and could easily be remounted to open to the "correct" side - from the center of the kitchen toward the wall.

Nice, simple, very clean and comfortable 2 queen bed cabin/room. Near Highway 1 but far enough away that the room was quiet and the area felt safe. Perfect for a night or two, especially if you have a pet. It would have been more fun, of course, to be staying right on the ocean, but that said, many accessible beaches are close by and the price point is good even if you don't have a pet - we were the only guests who had a dog during the time we were staying. Add to that the need for pet-friendliness and Shoreline Cottages a really excellent, practical choice.

Though the staff we interacted with on the phone and through text messages were very friendly and the business went smoothly, don't expect to find any of them on sight. That said, I'd imagine they are probably a short distance away in the event of some problem. Also, while we were staying the hot-tub wasn't open and there wasn't really and place to have a barbecue. Fine by us though and, like us, the other guests seemed to be there just for an affordable, safe and comfortable place to stay.

They were super quick and helpful to make arrangements when we had trouble checking in. The bed was very comfortable and the location was good for getting to all the sites.

The room was a bit smaller than anticipated and there was construction in the driveway that made it a bit difficult to navigate in and out of the property.

The room was very clean and the comforter was warm on a cold night.

I did not get a TEXT message with Key Code like others did. Perhaps there's a process difference with booking directly and with booking.com. That said, my friends who did get a TEXT message, the key code didn't work anyway.
