This is a new facility so it is well-presented and clean. Rooms were well-sized and appointed and great to have a kitchen area. It is a different location because there is not too much in the immediate vicinity (one chain restaurant and a coffee shop I think) and there is a quiet university vibe. However we found the place to be incredibly well located to all of LA's awesome attractions with a car and very very safe and good value for money. It is close to motorway access so very easy to get around LA - we got to Santa Monica in 25 minutes on a Sunday, 10 minutes from Dodger Stadium, 20 minutes from Universal Studious, 20 minutes to Hollywood, 10-15 minutes to Downtown. Value for money was really good, a great hotel that provides easy access to everything in LA. The sacrifice is that there are not too many shops etc in walking distance but the reality is that you need a car to get around LA anyway. And it felt very very safe, I'm glad I didn't stay in some of the downtown locations I had also been looking at because I saw some of these on my travels and while the buildings looked fine - what they don't show is the surrounding neighbourhoods - unfortunately there are too many spots in LA with homeless issues.

Children running in the hallways- late night/early mornings. No Peloton Bike in Gym… Bar opened much too late. No mimosa’s nor bloody mary’s available at breakfast. Breakfast- not so good- Boring bar menu … the sandwiches are just sad-

Good location for my needs. Large and clean room. Good breakfast. Quiet AC. 3 elevators made, so no long wait to go up or down.

Parking is located outside of the hotel on the opposite side of the street and costs about 40 per night.

The room was super comfortable and exactly what we wanted. They have great options for families and they thought of every single detail. I loved that the TV can be turned around to face either the living area or the bed. The staff were very nice and because the room’s AC was broken, they offered us free parking plus changed our room. Great breakfast with great options. My daughter loved it. Parking was across the street from the hotel but close and conveniently accessible.

You can hear the train in some rooms but they changed our room the next day.

Convenient location, great pool and beauty lobby

Had one interaction late morning at about noon, I wanted to fill my water bottle and there was no water out on the water station that I had seen there when I checked in the day before. The woman said she will get the staff to bring it out, 10 min later and I had to ask again. However, -then she set up the water station with the sign that said fill water bottles in the gym, which I was unaware of. Would have made most sense to direct me to the gym and not have me wait!

I didnt like the extensive use of plastic in the food, breakfast and restaurant.

I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt House LA - University Medical Center. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast offered a nice variety of options. The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions.

$40 daily parking fee was steep. Street parking is available, but you need to read the signs and wake up early to move your car. If you park on Valley Blvd, the train can block access, requiring a long walk via N Soto St to retrieve it.

Breakfast was fine. As important was the evening food/bartender. He was awesome. We were a group of 15. He along with his support staff got our food and drinks out in a timely fashion. And with good humor too. Also there was a mix up with Booking.com. They hadn’t confirmed our reservation. Your supervisor at the front jumped in and quickly resolved the problem. WELL DONE!!

I loved everything about this hotel. Parking in the garage, excellent location, very comfortable beds and famous Hyatt pillows. Breakfast was nutritious as well. Room was clean, recently updated and contained a small kitchen which was extremely convenient when traveling with kids. Highly recommend and looking forward to stay there next time in LA.
