The location is ideal for visiting Yosemite national park and the surrounding areas. It is a 1hr scenic drive to the park. Mariposa is an old miners town with a lot of good restaurants and quaint shops to wonder around. The staff in Monarch were very friendly and able to recommend restaurants to try in the evening. Rooms were very clean and had coffee, fridge and microwave facilities. There is a large free car park to the rear and a swimming pool. We had forgotten that a continental breakfast was included with the room and were pleasantly surprised, plenty of bagels and fruit drinks etc.

It can be a bit noisy in the hotel in the mornings when people get up early for their hikes/ park visit but the hotel provided ear plugs.

Location! My room faced the street which was quaint and very pleasing. I was in town for a County Board of Supervisor meeting the next morning and your hotel is within walking distance to the Government building! The manager at the front desk was AMAZING. Very helpful. I was able to walk to Subway sandwiches a block away since I had gotten in fairly late. THANK you for the free wi-fi. Normally I don't need it as T-Mobile gives me unlimited. But my connection was sooo slow, I decided to try your wifi and it allowed me to get my work done. Much appreciated!

The room service lady was an amazing person and we always found our room clean and tidy. The room was spacious. Had one small refrigerator and an oven. Breakfast was decent (bagels, cereal, milk, yogurt, brownie, tea, coffee, water). Parking was available. An hour journey to the Yosemite National Park. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

The bed and pillow could've been a bit more comfortable. Also, the window is located close to the parking driveway, hence light reflects when a car is parking nearby.

Good option to stay when doing the Yosemite trip but you don’t want the lodge. Mariposa is cute little town with many shops and restaurants cca 45 min drive from the west park gate. Big and comfortable room, clean hotel, friendly staff and safe parking zone.

Our room was on the ground level facing the parking lot, which didn’t offer much privacy. Also it was a big room but the wash-basin was not a part of bathroom but rather in the room right next to the entrance door, which was quiet strange and impractical. Also right across the door in the hallway was vending machine with ice maker that was waking us up everytime someone wanted a drink in the morning.

Best Breakfast, it was basic but everything was good and plenty....Bus Stop nearby, Pool was available

If you are going to Yosemite, you have to take 1.5 hour bus, on self drive its not less than 1 hour. I dont recommend Mariposa for visiting Yosemite, we must have booked some point closer to Yosemite entrance. If you go by bus, get reservation before hand on YARTS , bcaz in evening bus will 1st entertain reservations and then entertain normal tickets. We bough return tickets but have to wait for 3 hours in evening for bus boarding to come back to Mariposa.

The checking in was very simple. The person at the front desk was very helpful and super nice when I kept asking questions. The location is very convenient because you can walk to the shops and come back to the hotel without a problem.

The room was not clean properly, there were some clothes plastic tags on the floor, I saw one by the trash can in the bathroom and the other was next to the fridge, I didn't take a picture I should have. Also, I checked underneath the bed just to make sure I wasn't leaving anything, and I saw some trash there, too.

Elevators worked well. AC was strong. Toilet water pressure was good. Breakfast area had hot water, tea and coffee all day for use all day long. Rooms had individually wrapped cups. Sufficient parking lots. Supermarket and eating places nearby.

Wooden flooring, we could hear footsteps from the floor above every time they walk in their room, which was very annoying if you’re trying to sleep.

While not brand new or top of the line, everything from the lobby to the room and parking lot appears well-kept. I was happy to find a clean and comfortable place for under $100, especially when I booked it just a few hours before arriving late at night. Breakfast was small, but included as part of my stay and very convenient for those looking to grab and go early (breakfast started at 6 am). Mariposa is about as close to Yosemite Valley as you can get while still being in a real town.

I discovered it's best to park in front of the building to check-in on the main level, then drive around back to park, which is actually a floor lower and requires your keycard to get in. A little inconvenient to move the car again, but not that bad.

The Monarch is well situated in the pretty town of Mariposa. It's certainly the gateway to Yosemite National Park. The staff were friendly and well informed. The room was clean. The Monach is simple accomodation and provides that well.

The Monarch appears to be renovating - our stay during winter - was quiet and mostly met our expectations. Some aspects of the accommodation showed their age, but nothing was a problem.

Location was great, near the midtown as we were taking YARTS to Yosemite. Good that we were able to grab some breakfast before we go out. Rooms exceeded my expectations with the relatively new and clean furnishings. The team were friendly and helpful.

TV was not working - the check in guy was very helpful and tried to trouble shoot. But he was not successful. But it's alright, since we have our own devices connected to wifi.
