This boutique hotel was cozy and clean. They had a little convenience section to buy food/ drinks at the reception desk. Plus they have a cafe on site. They offered free flavored water (w/ cups and a water dispenser).. The room was spacious, clean and had nice closet space. The shower was spacious and modern. Parking was easy to find behind the hotel. The staff was kind and allowed me to check-out an hr later.  The location is near the ocean and near some shopping plazas (One Paseo Del Mar).

They have a small gym, although hours are limited. The cleaning lady knocked on my door before check-out time even thought I put the "Do Not Disturb" sign.

The breakfast service at BWP Del Mar is exceptional. The food is very healthy, fresh and delicious. The breakfasts are unlike almost any hotel breakfasts I have experienced that come with the price of the room in this regard. Real eggs, nice and varied fresh fruit, great (unsweetened if that's how you prefer it) Greek yogurt, etc. The Cafe is also very flexible in terms of what one can order as part of the 'included in the price of room' breakfast, which was most appreciated. Plus, the staff were friendly and professional. I also booked a room with a kitchenette (don't forget to ask for the kitchenette set on check-in as the cabinets are not pre-stocked!) and that was very useful for me. The room was pretty and very comfortable. I also liked the very small porch outside the room. Location on the charming main street of Del Mar (Camino del Mar) is also fantastic. People should understand in advance so they're not disappointed, however, that there is no direct beach access behind the hotel, but rather via a short walk down the street.

Location with easy access to Torrey Pines, La Jolla and Del Mar areas. Bed was comfortable. Microwave, sink, fridge and safe was in the room. Balcony with view to sea (not seafront) as accurately described on their web-site.

There was a big gap around the entrance door of the room and also a peep hole where lots of light from the hallway was in the room all night making it very difficult to sleep. It was like actually having the light on in the room. We put tissue paper in the peep hole, but there was still a lot of light coming into the room. I slept well only one of the three nights while there. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel if you are traveling on business. Probably it is fine for holiday travel. I reported the issue about the bright light and the gap in the door at check out. Hopefully the desk attendant relayed the information to the owners so that this might be addressed.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place to stay. More expensive than hotels in other local towns as you are staying in Del Mar but it's a really nice safe town. Excellent pool and jacuzzi area containing a fire pit to warm you up and pool towels that are laid out for you. Stayed 4 nights and would book here again! Also an excellent and very busy Mexican restaurant, En Fuego Cantina, in walking distance. Worth going to if you like Mexican food.

The onsite small cafe could have been better supplied with breakfast options to make this stay even better.

Amazing cafe, the breakfast burrito was excellent, easy check in and out, very quiet place to stay (amazing for our second ever vacation without kids). I would defiantly suggest this place to others. the whole place was clean, staff responded quickly when we needed extra towels, and coffee for the room. The only downfall was the safe didn't work but electronics all have an issue at one point or another and it does affect how much I enjoyed staying here.

We were pleasantly surprised that the property was so well-maintained. The whole place is clean and it felt special...even a "living room" with a fireplace. The check in was easy, and so was the check out. There's a little pool, a little cafe, and a dog park right next to the property. You can see the ocean from certain rooms...ask for that! And it was on the small side. A full range in the studio apartment, sliding glass doors, a little patio. Exceptional value right in the heart of Del Mar!

The pillows were stiff...so...bring your own...or buy a cheap one if you are staying more than a night. Everything else...amazing!

Our stay here was the best experience we have ever had. The location was so quiet, and restful. The staff were so polite and respectful, and the room was perfect. I want to be included in your list of notifications when you are having special discounts. We were in room 121 and it was perfect! The cafe was a different experience but well worth the upgrade because the food there was great! Thank you. P.S.-I do not usually do surveys but the stay here warrants a heads up for a great time there.

The room and staff

Front desk staff super helpful in showing flexibility with our departure time. Housekeeping staff very friendly and courteous and kept room very clean. Convenient to have a nice cafe on site, and nice to have direct access to ocean via back of hotel (although no signage about that).

We had full size beds in our room and they proved to be quite cramped for a family of four. Cafe staff did not seem to know how to make an ice coffee...made one without ice? Lol.

The location was great. The hotel was charming. We enjoyed the pool. The front desk person was very friendly and helpful.

There was a restaurant which was closed the first couple of days of our stay. They did provide some pastries, fruit, cereal and yogurt, however, in the front desk area which was nice. We had breakfast one morning during our stay and it was mediocre.

I loved the ocean view from the 3rd floor. The bed and pillow were comfortable and the size of the bathroom was very nice for 3 people.

The fluorescent lights in the hallway were unpleasant and cheapened the ambiance. Also, the exit stairwell door seems to be awkward for opening and closing and could be a safety hazard. I did not realize it was a 15 minute walk to the beach. I thought it had closer access.
