Proximity to the beach! You step out of your hotel room and can walk to the beach! The hotel will lend you beach chairs, umbrellas and even beach toys! Perfect for families. Our stay was to enjoy the beach so we would go swimming, then would return to the hotel to have lunch in the hotel seating area (there are lots of tables and chairs). We would then head back to the beach in no time! At night, we would sit out on the deck and enjoy the beach waves. It was cool at night but they turn out outside heaters to keep guests warm.

Parking...this is the second time we stay here and we had noticed the parking area is small but it had not been an issue. This time my husband had to go out in the evening to pick up advil from a nearby vons. When he returned, no parking! He asked the front desk staff and the gentlemen told him he could park up in the front, just to move our vehicle by 11am. My husband moved our vehicle at about 9:30am and we already had a parking ticket.

Third time staying in Del Mar at this wonderful hotel with our dog. This place is a GEM. Ocean front (meaning the beach is a few steps away), wonderful soft beds, great modern decor, wonderful patio with new lounging furniture. Staff is super kind and welcoming. They have a free coffee machine that makes all kinds of drinks and also a still / sparkling water machine. We love this place so much that we booked it again to ring in the NYE.

Occasional horn/noise from the train tracks BUT I personally love hearing it. Just figured it's worth mentioning for people who are sound sensitive.

This is a very nice refurbishment of a classic (from 1968) hotel in a great location right on the beach. The rooms are simple, but clean and bright and very functional. The hotel has a lot of nice, small amenities (a good coffee machine and water purifier in the reception, very nice seating overlooking the ocean, the ability to serve drinks and a greating glass of champagne). We will definitely come back to this hotel for "beach days."

This is right near the train tracks and so be prepared for an occasional passing train until about 11pm. The staffing of the reception was a bit thin - it took a long time to get an answer on how to use the heating.

Del Mar beach hotel is in the perfect location, with fantastic amenities within walking distance. The endless stretches of beach are beautiful, and accessible any time of the day. These were also very clean beaches, and had dog friendly areas, which was convenient. The hotel was accommodating and well kept, with anything you may need for a day on the beach available as well.

The only thing was that the parking was a little tricky and crowded, but the hotel helped a bunch. One other thing that could have made it better was to spend more time at this location!

We are from San Diego and used to live down the street from this hotel but currently live in Washington state. We came back for a beach trip and stayed here and it was amazing! We highly recommend this spot - the beach is right outside your door and you're within walking distance from food, coffee, and shops! The staff is SO on top of everything. We would pop out in the morning to grab a coffee and we'd come back to a clean room.

The only issue we had was parking. The parking lot is small and this hotel is right by the beach (so people will park here even if they're not staying) so we often didn't get a spot. We'd suggest that the hotel stay more on top of towing cars not displaying the parking pass since we saw tons of cars in the lot without the pass.

The location is stunning and the sunbeds facing the ocean are great. Staff is also really friendly and the rooms are new and clean. So nice they do not have carpet and therefore more hygiene. We really loved it and hopefully will be back someday 🥰

It is rather pricey. The only negative thing I could mention is that there are not enough beach towels in the sunbed are. But we could always ask and then get towels

Perfect staycation. Greeted by Drake at the front desk. He offered us a glass of Rose’ to enjoy the incredible sunset as this hotel is located on the beach. Amazing boutique hidden gem that was recently remodeled. Chairs overlook the ocean 🌊 on the patio and tables and fire pit for an intimate dining location outside or to enjoy cheese and crackers like my husband and I did while celebrating our birthdays. Our room was on the bottom level near patio and allowed us to open windows and enjoy the sound of crashing waves and then grabbed a latte in the lobby before checking out. Brittney was kind enough to ask about our stay. I now wish I would have grabbed their custom Del Mar hotel candle available in their lobby. Great stay for families and couples! Incredible staff and a must stay if you are visiting Del Mar.

Beach, no parking fees!!!! 2 owned restaurants for convenience. Complimentary Coffee-the best. Very hospitable front guest personnel. The whole crew was great and friendly.

No shower door on the shower? Water goes on the floor-not good. Needs microwave eventually in each room. Phones are cheap. Throw them away. Batteries had to be changed out of the bathroom door and we got locked out of our room day 1 so batteries had to be changed there as well.

This recently renovated property has remained faithful to a stripped-down beach motel aesthetic while adding nice new bathrooms and exceptionally comfortable beds. The location right on the beach speaks for itself. The staff were friendly and the cleaning was excellent. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended!

We simply couldn‘t figure out how the temperature controls worked on our first night and found the room pretty chilly. It would have been great if there had been some instructions for this.

The location is simply incredible, literally on the beach and conveniently at walking distance from most of stores / restaurants in Del Mar. The hotel looks like it was recently renovated and our room was new and sufficiently spacious. Bathroom was kind of small but also new and clean. Water pressure in the shower was not as bad as I thought from other reivews. We visited in January and the hotel parking offered sufficient space, we never had to struggle to find a spot. Plenty of public parking available nearby in any case. Staff was super, check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free.

Nothing really. Of course, it´s a relatively small hotel with no breakfast options (but they do have coffee and snacks in the small reception) and it offers limited services, but this is clear from the description.
