Staff was really nice and always greeted when you left or came back to the hotel. Room was clean and large enough with private bathroom, cabinet, bed and TV. The hotel is located centrally in SF, we mainly used with public transportation during our visit. Nice bakery same street and around the corner) and restaurants nearby (Nob Hill).
Relatively close to Tenderloin, don't go in that direction by night. We had no issues during day time, but preferred to avoid it during the night. Single downside in the hotel: the towels were linting, so you had little white fluffs everywhere on your skin after use.

Staff was helpful and welcoming, we had our flight delayed and they accommodated our check-in without a problem. We stayed in two queen bedrooms and they did their best to have both rooms as near as possible, which was really appreciated. Bedrooms were a good size, and the beds were super comfortable, which was excellent after a day out visiting San Francisco.
When we checked in, we were notified of a required deposit per room that we did not know about. It was $300/room, which they reimburse at the end of the stay. However, not knowing about this deposit really affected our trip economics. Thankfully, the staff were helpful and we arranged it so that we were the least inconvenienced by it. Still, I believe it is important to let travelers know about this deposit in advance, since not everyone can pay such a big deposit, and paying it can really affect people's trip plans.

The bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds i have slept on. The room was flawless, wonderful hot shower with excellent quality shampoo/conditioner. I especially want to speak to the lovely African American (i didn’t get his name) gentleman who assisted me during my stay, he is an absolute credit to your business and is exactly the face you wanting greeting your guests. His ability to problem solve, combined with his kindness speaks to hospitality at its core.
The noise inside the hotel was incredible. I was assigned a room in front of the elevator on a Saturday meaning i was woken by all of the intoxicated people coming back to their rooms in the wee hours. In addition i was given an adjoining room where i could hear everything the man next door was doing, including taking a pee, sniffling and sneezing (he was definitely unwell). At times i thought he was actually in my room the noise was so acute. Thankfully, the hotel had provided earplugs, which i used, and successfully got back to sleep. I would have rated Found a 10 if the internal noise - which especially between rooms is fixable - was minimised.

Beautifully restored within the old property. Furnishings were stylish and functional.bed was comfortable and the room was spacious, including a large walk-in closet & well fitted bathroom. Water pressure was really good on the shower and temperature was perfect! Room also had an incredibly quiet ceiling fan - which was perfect for cooling off in the evening. It was in a good spot to explore San Francisco on foot with access to buses, cable and other transport if needed. Also near some parking garages which we used for our trip. Although there are no restaurant or breakfast facilities on site it’s walking distance to numerous delis and eateries and there was a generous size fridge in the room. We bought some supplies locally and could store these safely through our trip.
No drinks facilities in the room which we knew before arriving, but only option was a hot water coffee machine (the kind that just mixes everything into the cup) and some powdered creamer.

Hotel is very conveniently located at Sutter Street which is just a few cable car stations away from Chinatown where one can enjoy lots of delicious food if you so fancy Chinese food while in San Francisco like we did. (Visited Chinatown literally everyday of our trip due to the convenience). Hotel was also very well renovated and maintained though the building looks rustic on the outside. Hotel also has a coffee dispenser and microwave at the lobby for you to enjoy some coffee in the mornings or after a long day out of exploring the city. There is also a water and ice dispenser at the back of the concierge. ( Which is very rare to find in hotels). Rooms were spacious with a walk in closet which is useful to store away our luggages so that we could enjoy more walking space. Amenities provided in the room was also abundant and luxurious. Hotel was also very secure with a policy that the main doors are locked after 7.30pm and entry is via password (the same as the one you use to enter the rooms). This gave us assurance that the hotel was safe from random people coming into the hotel especially at night.
Hotel is located on a hill so getting around to the nearest BART station or Cable Car station would entail either walking up or down a really steep slope which may not be the most accessible for those with mobility issues. But this could be a common issue with other hotels around, but just need some getting used to. The name of the hotel was slightly confusing, with the light board on the building displaying Hotel Carlton, and the display board behind the counter saying Found Hotel. If not coming via private transportation, one may be initially confused at the naming convention of the hotel. This is a small issue once you get used to it.

The hotel is stylish and nicely decorated – my room was cozy, modern, and the bed was very comfortable. I loved that you could fill up filtered water in the lobby, which was super convenient. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. The location is great if you're planning to explore the city – it’s close to public transport, cafes, and many attractions.
While the room looked clean at first glance, it didn’t seem like the floor had been vacuumed during my stay – there was some dust and dirt. Also, as with much of downtown San Francisco, there are quite a few unhoused people on nearby streets, which might be uncomfortable for some travelers. Of course, this isn’t the hotel’s fault – it’s just part of the city’s current situation.

The simplicity/design of the room, the bath products, I had a walk in closet in my room, the shower pressure and temp, the natural light, the water fountain and it's speed, being close to Van Ness.
The coffee situation was the only real bummer. I was bummed already when I got there and saw there was just an old machine in the lobby, but then it was broken and I didn't even have that. I would have preferred regular coffee and tea with all the fixings in the lobby, and having coffee in the rooms is kind of important. Secondly, is that there should probably be two front desk personnel, they were often overly busy.

Was nice stay in this place, it's a good place to stay, the bed is really confortable, you can get water and coffee always do you want... and also can put your bags in a storage.
I don't like the location... I got this place because is nearby from center, but the center from San Francisco is terrible, like a horror movie with a lot homeless person, I was very scared on the first day, but later I learned that I shouldn't go to the street below or to the left of the hotel, because they were bad places to go, especially alone...

Very nice. Fancy little boutique hotel with beautiful furniture. Good value for dollar with exceptional staff. Much cleaner and nicer than other options in the price category. Rooms vary in size and quality some are large with exceptional views others are small and cramped. Check square footage of room you book.
Windows did not open enough for safety or adequate ventilation (a few inches of air gap). Bathrooms do not have individual fans and are poorly ventilated. Halls inadequately ventilated as well. Unsafe in the event of fire or earthquake. Paper thin walls, you will hear and smell your neighbors. Very expensive nightly credit card hold deposits …almost as expensive as my room. Children are present at the hotel. Not the best location for romance or excitement. LGBT travelers may not find facilities adequate for LGBT activities. Bathroom felt uncomfortable to prepare for dates and room seemed unsuitable for hosting hookups for gay travelers. Inadequate trash facilities are provided which worsens interior air quality issues.
