The location was convenient to what we were doing.

First they charged me twice and as of yet no one can help me refund the double charge. I will give them another day but my amusement with their incompetence is running low. Next... The name suggests it's a hotel which it is not. It is a motel and words have meanings! The chair in the room was filthy, like I didn't want to sit in it, filthy. The bed side table had loads of water rings from cups like no one had cleaned in. The bathroom had dirty corners and the shower door didn't stay shut without me holding it. The bed frame was metal and every time you rolled over it made loud metal sounds.

The room was in an excellent location to where I needed to go. The location of my room was towards the back and very quiet. I liked the Keurig Coffee Maker and selection of choices. It had a nice refrigerator and the sheets and towels were fresh and did not smell of any fabric scent. Great price for the location and as a solo woman traveler, I felt very safe. I liked the small lamps on each side of bed. Nice accent. The remodel was very well done. Large shower.

The window would not lock so I did not feel safe leaving my laptop in my room when I went out to visit family during the day. I would suggest they put a dimmer on the overhead lights in the room. Too bright. The fan/light in bathroom was loud - would be nice to have a choice of just light and no fan but I understand they need to vent the bathroom.

The room and bathroom were both very nice—modern, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. I was especially impressed with how well-organized and spotless everything was upon arrival. The space felt welcoming and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and relax. Overall, a great stay that exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort.

The only reasons I didn’t give this stay 10 stars are: The AC unit had a very unpleasant odor. When I first checked in, the room smelled of urine, and the scent worsened when the AC was on. I ended up turning it off, and the smell mostly went away. Luckily, the weather was cool enough that I didn’t need it during most of my stay. It would also be helpful to have proper curtains to block out light at night. The wooden panels in my room were broken, which let in a lot of light from outside.

Good place to stay, good price. Renovated and well set up rooms.

The only bad thing was the check in process. It is done through a screen speaking with people from overseas. English is not their first language and it was often difficult to understand them. The process also is very drawn out and takes forever and is rather off putting and frustrating.

Driving up to the hotel it didn't look like much, but walking in to the lobby was a pleasant surprise! The decor was amazing... painting of Frida Kahlo, sugarskulls, and bright colors. We arrived late and used a techy video console to check in. It connected to a live desk clerk who walked us through check in and emailed us a door code for our room! The room was completely remodeled and modern, with ambient lighting, a huge TV, a Kuerig coffee maker, and a very comfortable bed,

The parking was a bit inconvenient. Not much space and we had to park in the back area and walk to our room.

The place nice ,little funky -modern. Clean. Staff very friendly.

Only complaint I could think of would be the bed. If I didn't sleep on the edge, I would roll into the center hole.

The location is excellent. I recommend this place to everyone attending the San Mateo County Event Center event. It only takes 20 minutes to walk to the center hall, and you will pass by many delicious restaurants. Also, a Japanese supermarket and bus stop are within 5-minute walking distance. Very convenient. The amenities were so nice! There was a huge TV, a small refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a water kettle. Iron and hairdryer are also included. The bed is the soft type with enough support to the back.

Every surface and handle I touched was very clean, but the fan/ air filter and the floor were dirty. I also wish there could be a lamp on or near the table. The curtain/blind type was not my favorite for a room on the ground floor with cars parking in front.

This motel always has a nice bed and a fluffy duvet. Pillows are firm, but I actually love that. They also have quite a few accessible plugs, and the prices are reasonable for the area. I like the location because it's close to who I visit in the area and they allow pets. They also have free parking in a dedicated parking lot - amazing!

They need to hang light blocking curtains rather than the flimsy, plastic plantation shutters. They are always broken, were installed backwards, and end up not blocking light well. The air conditioning units struggle to cool and keep airflow going, so the room feels stuffy even when cool. More surface space in the bathroom, or a place to hang a hand towel and wash cloth off the side of the sink so they don't take up the flat surface would be nice.

From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone was wonderful. The rooms are in great condition and everything I needed worked well and satisfied every need I had. It's a great value for the price and I have paid more for less. I highly recommend the Catrina went in San Mateo.

The floors can get a little dirty but that's expected with hardwood floors and my wife always insists I use foot coverings in a hotel anyway.

The bed and bedding were good. It was pretty quiet considering that is next to El Camino. It was clean and nicely decorated. Liked the coffee setup and water and granola bars.

Did not like the metal plate that wraps around the bed. Feet hit it each time and makes a loud noise. Not enough light in the room at night. I now don’t like the fact that I was told there was no breakfast and now find out there WAS breakfast!!
