The room was exceptionally clean and the location was great! Lots of great restaurants, liquor & grocery store, movie theater and nail salon all close by.

The strong flowery smell as soon as I walked in.. You can smell it through the building.. Some kind of air freshener through their air system- Too strong. My room needed more lighting, it was a little dark.

Microtel Bethel/Danbury is conveniently close to I-84. The facility is overall very modern. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. Everything in our room was clean and functional. Beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. Shower had plenty of hot water. Continental breakfast was simple but adequate... coffee, juice, milk, cereal, yogurt, pound cake, bread, granola bars. Even though signs indicated that the hotel was full with no vacancies, there was plenty of parking.

Could have used some towel bars or hooks for wet towels, but that's about the only negative thing I can think to report.

The accessibility for my wheelchair was perfect. I now know where to actually find a room that I can actually use

The parking lot! A semi truck tried to pull into the lot and asked me to move my van from the handicap parking lot! Seriously told me to "Go ahead and just move so he can get in!" Then since there were other handicap drivers parked he still struggled. Maybe truckers need to know that the lot is not suitable

First time staying in a Microtel and it was last stop on way home from a cross country road trip. We stayed in many hotels over the course of a few weeks. If this one is any indication of what to expect at a Microtel then I wish we had chosen some others along our journey. Very clean and comfortable and well run with lots of flowers and pretty landscaping. I doubt they are all as nice as this one but definitely will check out this chain in future as it is generally much more affordable than others and was much cleaner than some we paid twice as much for.

Microtel offered an outstanding value, especially compared to the overpriced hotels in Boston and New York. It is well located, and provided us with all of the basics. The simple HVAC system was much easier to control than other hotels use. The morning continental breakfast offers a nice variety of options

The hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is good too. The beds are comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. On check in the staff asked if we wanted a 1st or 2nd floor room as there was no lift which I thought was considerate. There is plenty of free parking too. There are lots of places to get food from nearby.

Nothing.

The front desk staff was great. Really helpful, courteous and very quick to respond to a room change request. He had upgraded our room, but we asked for two beds instead of one. Within minutes we could move to another room

It is so sad to see plastic cups and cutlery still in use in the USA for breakfast. Definitely not ecological but unfortunately still very common. Breakfast was okay, but not too much of a selection.

Everything was new!

Everything was new. The ice in the freezer wasn't usable because the water needed to pass through a few times to acclimate. So we had to purchase ice & water.

Good location. Easy off/on I-84. Nice staff. Very nice room. Good parking. Good breakfast. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in the immediate area. Would stay here again.

Receptionist requested a $100 fee be applied to my credit card in case of any damage to the room. Most hotels/motels require such a fee but don't actually charge the fee to your card unless warranted. In my case, a fee has never been charged; however, this property did charge the fee to my card and as of yet have not removed it from my credit card even though I do not and did not smoke in the room; had no pet in my room; or damaged the room in any way. Very concerned about this and will call Microtel when I return home. This is a first for me!

The hotel was surprisingly good value with large spacious rooms, great TV and wifi connection, comfortable bed, nice clean room and bathroom, good shower pressure and easy check-in. The location was excellent close to restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was sufficient with juice, coffee, croissants, cereal etc. The value was terrific.

Nobody at the front desk when we arrived. The $100 room deposit charge is excessive and you have to wait a week or more for the refund to show up. There is no good reason for this deposit.
