We stayed in this Hotel countless of times and it is time to give it a 10 to boost its rating. They recently renovated most of the rooms, and it pays. Rooms are spacious with no exceptions. Personnel is extremely friendly. They even improved the breakfast offer, which was one of the very few complains I had from my previous stays. The area is just amazing. One could spend weeks visiting historical sites nearby, quaint antiques stores, top-notch restaurants, world-class garden estates. I am still disappointed about the way they renovated the second floor of the lobby, but I understand the need of the business.

Restaurant on the other side still has somehow inconvenient opening hrs.

We come to this hotel every time we travel to Philadelphia and it is just never disappoints us. It has the convenience of a well established hotel chain with the flair of an inn. Personnel is extremely kind and forthcoming in trying to accommodate every customer’s request, which does not happen everywhere nowadays. People that stay here are usually attending weddings, so no people in underwear running through corridors. It was also recently renovated , though I personally think it lost a little bit of its majestic appeal by getting rid of the lobby on the 2nd floor. What makes this hotel a great place to stay is the size of the room and bathroom, and its location just a stone’s throw away from all the surroundings attractions: Longwood gardens, Dunlop mansions, etc .

Breakfast should be brought up a notch, with a greater selection of fresh fruits and freshly baked stuff.

The Inn at Mendenhall was absolutely lovely. The staff was friendly and service was fantastic! Centrally located to get to both Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. And the added bonus is the restaurant - Mendenhall Inn - that is right across the parking lot. The food was divine and the service was wonderful. It was a fantastic weekend all around and we couldn't be happier with how it all worked out! Thank you!!

More hooks in the bathroom for wet towels, clothes, or hair dryers, etc. and more hangers in the closets. Other than that I have no complaints at all! Tina and the staff all went above and beyond to make our stay warm and welcoming and just wonderful!

We have been coming to this hotel since 2019 and we will be happy to do so in the future. There is simply no better place to stay in the area. Period. The place is just a guarantee. Rooms are bigger than average, personnel friendly, and breakfast richer than practically every other hotel we stayed in. Plus the area bordering Delaware is just wonderful, full of history, being located minutes away from the Winterthur Museum and the Longwood Gardens, both heritage of the DuPont family and both by themselves worth the travel if you are from PA or from out of state. Dine-out opportunities are also incredible.

Furniture and decorations may eventually need a major update. Would be nice if restaurant would be open throughout the week.

The Inn at Mendenhall was a very nice hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, and breakfast was good. The location is excellent as it is situated in the Brandywine Valley and convenient to all key attractions including Winterthur, Hagley, and Longwood Gardens. The parking was great, beds comfortable and it was very quiet.

The only slight concern was that the A/C seemed to be locked in place so although we had turned it down to 68, it maintained a temperature of 70 degrees and then it actually climbed to 75 by morning. So there must be a governing program in place for the A/C. Normally, that would be fine but given temps during our stay were upper 90s, a slightly cooler room would have been nice.

It was convenient to a lot of the interesting sites in the area including West Chester, Mt. Cuba Center and Chadds Ford. The room was ready for our 4pm arrival. The king size bed was just the right softness. Breakfast buffet in the morning had plenty of good food on it including the crunchy bacon and small chocolate croissants. Great powerful shower and nice bathroom. And no smells in the room - everything was in perfect order.

The hotel adds an additional $50 to the room charge as a hold for damages. When you check out, I was told this $50 would be refunded within several days. So this could be a potential issue if they do not give us this refund. Other than that, no negatives. There are train tracks nearby, but the trains are infrequent - only one came through during our stay, around 10am the morning we left. And there was very little noise from it.

This hotel was located perfectly for our evening at Longwood Gardens. The room was very clean as well as the property. The breakfast service was top notch! There were two weddings there during our stay and there were zero issues.

To note though, there is a step up into the room, making it a bit of an obstacle for anyone with physical issues and an overall tripping hazard.

The location was perfect as our reason for being there was to goto Longwood Gardens. The room was cozy, clean and quiet. We did eat at the Restaurant there but I was not impressed with that as much as I was with the inn.

The inn, nothing, it was great. The restaurant; we were seated right away, our drinks and appetizers came out very quickly but the main course took quite a while to come out. My husband’s steak was over cooked as opposed to medium and my pasta scampi was gritty and flavorless. A bit over priced for what we received.

We are repeat customers - the hotel is very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast is nicer than many other hotels', too.

The receptionist said Booking doesn't send customer requests, though we did get an email from Booking, stating that our request was sent to the hotel. Still, the receptionist gave us a very nice quiet room, which we appreciated.

We were happy with everything. Thank you so much. So happy how close it was to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. Enjoyed Kettet Square. We ate at 2 Stones one night and Trattoria La Tavola second night. It was amazing.

Breakfast was good, needed some toppings for yogurt. Granola, raisins, bluberries, etc.
