Staying at The Lakeside Inn was a glimpse of Old Florida! The Inn was donned with historical photos, telling its stories of presidents, vacationers and locals . The smell of the old wooden floor when you enter from the rocking chair lined front porch overlooking the lake, stunning! Our room, with its two four post beds and century old photos and postcards on the wall was charming! The restaurant at breakfast, delicious! In the evening we ventured into the bar/restaurant for an evening dessert while listening to the piano player. The Inn is just steps away from town which has restaurants, shoppes, even a little lighthouse!

Not applicable. Fabulous overall!

The beautiful grounds , the pool, the buildings. I loved the fact of all the old buildings and fixtures true to the era. I love that we actually had real keys to our doors. I wish I had taken a picture of the keys. I plan to return again if I can get a reasonable rate. I loved my visit and the cute town.

A nice little stand alone cabinet of some sort in the bathroom to put toiletries on while washing up or applying make up would be amazing. I was a little disappointed that when I tried to check in early…I was told we would be in the main building upstairs, but room wasn’t ready so when I did check in later I was told we were over in the other building across the way. So I was disappointed about that. I was looking forward to being in that building and was excited.

Our room location was excellent, the woman who checked us in was outstanding, as were our servers in the dining room for breakfasr. Wish iour schedule would have allowed us to stay another night. We lived in the area for many years and love downtown Mount Dora, but this was our first return after moving out of state and our first time to splurge and stay at Lakeside Inn. We'll definitely return when we can.

We were very grateful for a first floor room with the lake visible! However, we were not expecting that there would still be several sets of steps to get there. Nothing you can fix, but your information could better mention this, due to age and sloping location of this lovely historic inn truly positioned at the edge of a lake. Overall, a minot issue.

The scenic views of the lakes and large oak trees are stunning. The location of Lakeside Inn makes walking through downtown Mount Dora a breeze! My family enjoyed walking around downtown and coming back to the hotel to digest our food, nap, and swim in the pool. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Any requests we made were met within five minutes. The bar and dining staff appear to genuinely enjoy their jobs, making for very pleasant dining experiences and conversation.

Since the bathroom doors in our suite were original to the 1883 building, they did not shut all the way or lock. This made for a few awkward moments with the in-laws, as we were traveling with a toddler that doesn’t understand personal space. Another concern I had was that there may be termites in parts of the building (which only makes sense for the age of the hotel.) I discovered this when I picked my toddler up out of his pack-n-play that I placed under the AC unit in the parlor side of the suite, and saw black dust all over the sheets that looked very similar to termite droppings I’ve seen in other old buildings. This of course was very concerning because my child may have inhaled this in his sleep.

We had to evacuate from hurricane Milton. They gave us a reduced rate for this reason. The welcome we received from the front desk (and all the staff) immediately lowered the anxiety and stress we had been experiencing. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with a beautiful view of the lake. The staff let us know that a FREE Continental breakfast would be served in the morning since the nearby restaurants were closed. At some point late at night and outside door was broken by the high winds and banging. Called front desk and a member of maintenance came and fixed it despite the lashing rain and winds.

The TV just had basic cable but since this is a romantic type of destination it's appropriate.

Old world style, fantastic location, very nice staff. Nice pool, good bar.

We were disappointed by the dinner menu and decided to go elsewhere, and good morning coffee was one of the worst we've ever tried. When we arrived in the breakfast room, that was nobody in attendance and we ventured into the kitchen and would have preferred not to see it; it is in need of a serious deep cleaning!

We love this property- been coming here for years! Beautiful setting and such a wonderful old building.

The outside of the building is absolutely filthy. Needs a serious power-wash. It is covered in cobwebs & bugs. Don't look up when you are eating your food on the veranda. 😳 And there is a serious need for some painting inside the building. The windowsills inside the restaurant as well as some of the doors really need a serious coat of paint. And it's definitely not as clean as it could be on the inside. Bugs and dust on all the sills and surfaces. It's such a beautiful building- you want to see it well taken care of…

The setting of Lakeside Inn was like a little village, several buildings in a group. Our room was toward the center of the group, and the building had a communal veranda to enjoy the lake and pool view. Our king room was just right and very comfy bed. Loved wood floors and charm of the era it was built in. We ate in the dining room which was open, light and in the time period. Best blackened salmon strawberry, spinach salad EVER! Perfect ambience everywhere!

Convenience items in room like hooks on door, coat rack, etc whiny things. No coffee in room but up at office, and not so good, but coffee house nearby walking through quaint Mt Dora town.

Lots! But I have to say the staff, location, and history really stand out. The staff acts as if you’re family, waving and greeting you as if they already know you. Christina and Sarah at the front desk were so welcoming, the knowledge of art, history, and local culture from lovely woman in gift shop and to Mackenzie and Sarah serving us in Tremain’s. Their attitude, attention to detail, and just stopping to talk graciously to guests was beautiful southern hospitality. You cannot beat the beauty of old Florida and walking distance to downtown Mount Dora and whatever quirky fun event they ‘ve got going.

Only thing that was annoying was the assistant manager at the bar would interrupt his staff with directions when they were talking to customers. They were making the customer happy! He constantly seemed to try to put them off guard with criticism instead of encouragement-not a good or confident manager or team player.

The food in the bar was excellent and Corey our waiter was exceptionally attentive. Our room was clean and comfortable The outdoor pool was lovely but unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of this facility due to the weather The location is central to the town and has the advantage of free parking

Our bedroom could have done with an update whilst keeping the character. The carpet was worn and badly fitted and the room had a slightly musty smell
