Amazing outdoor seating areas and the property itself is beautiful especially with the centerpiece of the property being the "Old Senator" Live Oak tree that is over 600 years old and has a wonderful story about it that must be heard.

The bed was squeaky when getting in and out or with any significant movement. Booked a Deluxe King room for the extra square footage but was disappointed upon entering the room we were given as it was a standard smaller room and not the larger room that we paid for however we did like the room itself overall other than being a bit small so we kept the room we were given and didn't worry about notifying the front desk of the mixup or making any complaints.

The location was amazing ,close to downtown. Jerome kept the breakfast room so clean and the breakfast choices were great. The ladies at the desk were helpful, courteous and professional.

The building needed to be pressure washed, the windows had spider webs and dirt around them, the vent in the bathroom was full of dust , I was a little leary about walking on the floor without shoes on prior to having the room cleaned. The pot for the coffee maker was missing, the ice maker for that building needs to be fixed and the front entrance would look so much nicer if the weeds were removed and landscape was looked after.

Upon arrival we were a bit worried, this is definitely more of a motel than a hotel. The grass needed mowing and it looked far less attractive than in the photos. Don't judge a book by its cover! The room was comfortable, the air worked wonderfully (we kept it at 65), the pool was nice and the location could not have been better. The hop on hop off trolley stops in the parking lot! The Fountain of Youth, old jail, old store are all walkable. If you don't mind a longer walk you could really walk the entire historic district and avoid the expensive parking. We also never heard any other guests so the walls must be sturdy. The value for money was amazing. 10/10

The only drawback was the odd sound.....I spent the first night worried about the lost kitten? Injured crow? Nope, just the peacocks that live at the Fountain of Youth. They like to hang out behind a wall right at the end of the property and dawn and dusk they will scream you the song of their people.

The rooms are spotless, breakfast is simple but actually perfect. Its lovely to have a pool also. The highlight is that the trolley hop on tour stops right under the sycamore tree in the hotel grounds and this made the whole stay for me. I had only planned on one night but stayed for two. Free parking and great wifi. Also walkable to everywhere if you prefer but I loved hopping on and off getting various insights from guides on the local history. Also the fountain of youth is next door if you need that! Well done to all the staff here - Ive sometimes stayed in well known brand hotels and not experienced this level of service. (As I stayed 2 nights which wasn't my plan I had two different rooms and both were just as lovely).

The single use plastic at breakfast but I managed this on morning two better and planned my usage so that I reused as much as possible and also used my travel mug etc. However its spotless here and the gentleman serving was very professional and on the ball with any cleanup etc which is why it was such a nice and simple breakfast spot.

Simple but very cute property in excellent location. The room is also simple (it is a 2-star hotel) and exceptionally clean. Comfortable mattress. Great water pressure in the shower.

The room could use some art on the walls because there is an echo. Also the base of the bed is made from this strange metal thing that I kept hitting with my foot, and it kept making a not very pleasant and loud hollow sound.

This is a charming old property. The rooms are simple but CLEAN and QUIET! There’s a very nice courtyard where you can sit under the tree. The pool was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was adequate, front office staff were welcoming and professional. It’s an easy walk downtown to all the attractions and right next to the Fountain of Youth Park. The famous old tree “The Senator” is located within the hotel and the trolley tour comes by periodically. All in all, it’s good value in the historic district.

The patio furniture in the courtyard is falling apart and in dire need of replacement. It’s really a shame because otherwise it’s a beautiful place to relax in the evening.

I loved how there was the availability to surprise my husband for his birthday with a special package and the amazing room upgrade.

My husband lost his wallet and the person who found it tried to take it back to the hotel because there was a room key in there, and the attendant that was working that day said the room key was from 2022. The attendant didn't even look to see what room it was assigned to so that they could call and ask if we lost a wallet. The wallet ended up going to texas with the person who found it. Luckily, they found my husband's information on facebook and got in contact with us. We had to pay for the wallet to come back to us.

Our stay was wonderful. We absolutely love the majestic old tree, but would like if they did not nail lights into the trunk. This live oak tree has been here for centuries a silent watcher of many generations who were born and died. Can you imagine living during the time of Jesus birth and death, all the World Wars, and still standing today? It was worth staying at the property just to see and witness the centuries old live oak. Please take the nails and lights away from this Old majestic tree. As far as the property itself. It was a great place to stay, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is adequate, the coffee is acidic and bitter, and the sausage gravy was watered down. Other than that, I recommend this to anyone staying for a visit.

I have stayed here twice, and it's becoming one of my favorite places to stay in St. augustine. I love the location, the staff, the facilities, and the overall vibe

The only thing I wish was better was the food breakfast isn't bad, but I wish there were a few extra options for me in particular because I'm allergic to eggs. So I just wish there were a few different selections for breakfast, maybe like grits or fruit I do like the oatmeal.

Location everything in town within walking distance, easy access from major roads, quiet ( apart from the slightest noise from the transiting town tour trolley train), comfortable bed, fridge in room, ice machine nearby Good restaurants close by Breakfast- hot cooked limited choice but plenty of cereal etc

That said and having consumed ice from the machine - no ill effects The coffee for the in room brewer was not very nice. Only used once in the 4 day stay
