I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Metropolis and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and offered all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciated their local recommendations and helpful attitude throughout my stay. My room was spacious, quiet, and spotless, with a very comfortable bed and a great workspace. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a big plus since I was traveling for business.

Breakfast was very good

The staff was not present at the reception area at check-in for 10 minutes upon arrival. I tried to reach them a couple days later in regard to another booking that I made with them and they did not answer the phone after 3 attempts, did not answer my email or respond to a message sent via booking.com. There was an error in the date and I was trying to change it after I received confirmation. I think it is appropriate to respond to their customers which they never have to date.

We rented one of the King suites with a jetted tub, which we absolutely loved! I enjoyed the free breakfast, my husband wasn't always a fan of it, but he's a pickier eater than myself. We loved the location to everything, just a 5 minute drive or less to most of the places we went to see. Loved the comfortable beds so much! The place had an indoor pool and hot tub also.

The first day we were there the power went out 3 times for a few minutes each time. They seemed to figure out the issue because the next couple of days we didn't have a problem. The jets on the hot tub weren't working either but I'm so glad that I had booked a room with a jetted tub so that we had our own hot tub basically.

Great location and hotel

When I checked in I told the man I was paying with cash, he said ok just pay at check out and then asked for the card I booked with, I showed it to him, after I said again I was paying with cash, and he tried to run the card and told me it was declined(it was locked). I told him again I wanted to pay with cash not the card that's linked to my booking account. He then said well give me the money now and $100 deposit. It made it very confusing since I told him from the start I was paying with cash.

They're in the middle of renovations, so there's some messiness There's no full length mirror, no other mirror except in the bathroom, but the bathroom is so small 2 people can't be in there, so you have to take turns getting ready.
