The breakfast was pretty good. The staff did a nice job of keeping the coffee hot and available. While I was there the parents of the hockey players in town were essentially taking over the front of the hotel each night I was there which I found very annoying. The staff did a nice job of greeting me each time I came in and a few that were there a ton were exceedingly engaging and fun.

I did not like that the cleaning staff - meaning the gals that clean the rooms - do NOT say hello or even look at you when you see them in the halls. They go out of their way to NOT greet you which, to me, is not acceptable. I also found that the gal the seemed to be in charge of the room cleanings was VERY rude to me when I was asking the front desk person to please take care of my room while I was out. She had a strange hairdo - but that was not what annoyed me - her seemingly being VERY pissed off at me for asking for my room to be taken care of is NOT appreciated.

Front desk was awesome! she moved me to the ground floor, so that I would specifically be closer to the pool. And then when two of my kids ages 12 and 5 just got dropped off at the front door, she called to the room to make sure that they found their way to the room.

The breakfast cook was a little "slow". He didn't get the clue that more food need to be cooked even when there were like five people standing at the window waiting they had to specifically ask him to make more. He had already removed the pans from the hot top and wash them so he knew there was more food needed. And this was about 45 minutes before breakfast ended. Except for that everything was perfect.

I was just traveling with my family and my dog. I like that the location is dog-friendly. For just one night, this is a good spot. The breakfast spread was good. I appreciate that the parking was free and well-lit. Great value.

Not a con, but since it is a value, don't expect super-modern or renovated rooms. It may be because we had our dog with us, but the furniture had some stains, and the bathroom wasn't completely clean - hair and dust. The shower was also out of shower gel. Not at all a dealbreaker. It's a large room. Great for one night.

Location was perfect for me. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast very nice. Great hot shower and coffee!🙂

I’ve stayed at this property several times over the last 6 yrs. Always enjoy it. Property has started looking a little tired and dated. Overall extremely clean, however the carpets were not. Understand that they can’t clean carpet between every stay but there was an unsettling large stain on the carpet in my room that should have been addressed before assigning to new guest. See photo. Also included one just outside elevator. Again, enjoyed my stay but since you asked I’m giving honest feedback.

The breakfast was good which is unusual for me because i am on a very restricted diet. The staff as always are among the best I've encountered. They make an effort to get to know customers and work very hard. I travel a great deal for business so am in many hotels and can compare experiences. The hotels in South Bend at the same level (e.g. Courtyard Marriott) have nowhere near the level of service and attention to things like traffic in and out of the property. The GM seems to run a tight ship and people seem to be working together well. The property is very clean. The gym and laundry areas, which are pretty important to business travelers, are clean and functional.

I think a small investment in new carpet, worn woodwork etc. would be great. It could bring the physical aspects of the property up to the level of service by employees.

We love the Hyatt, we choose to stay here Everytime we come through on our way to our destination. The staff is always great, the rooms are always clean, and the breakfast is always pretty good with a good selection.

The only thing we wish we had was a microwave in the room. But it's not a deal breaker as they have one in the lobby

We were in town for the game, and guests were very friendly. Enjoyed my stay.

One of my friends' room was cleared, and her belongings were removed and sent down to the front desk for no apparent reason. We stayed two nights, and it was unsettling to her to find her stuff gone. The front desk apologized and offered us a free soda. Wow!!! Can you imagine coming back from the game tired and finding out your stuff gone ? The best explanation was, we thought you had just left your belongings and gone. They should have known I had made reservations for 3 rooms two nights, and we had not checked out. I'm glad the room hadn't been given to someone else. What a situation that would have been. I don't know if she would want me to book with HP again.

I love the location, the beds, and the breakfast offered every morning. Also love the low deposit amount being put on hold. One of the major reasons I stay with you rather than others in the area that charge $50/$100 all the way up to Varsity Club which does $200, absolutely ridiculous.

The last 2 times I have booked a King Size top floor room with a single King bed I have gotten a room with a double bed. It's been quite frustrating prepaying and booking a certain room that COSTS more to then get the cheap double bed room.

My wife and I were kid-free enjoying her birthday. The room served us well with the rest of our planned activities in the area.

We were on the first floor. We were kid-free but all we heard were kids running around until well past 1am. Not that we don't like kids, but could there be a way to keep visitors with kids on the other wing as without kids?

Great location! Close to Notre Dame, lots of food options around the area, staff was friendly and hard workers.

I don’t have anything about the property I didn’t like. The only downfall was the entire two days we were there, two ladies must have rented the pool area for swimming lessons. What was suppose to be a relaxing time during the day while my kids swam was not relaxing. Constant change of families walking in and out of the pool area every 15 min. Babies, kids and toddlers screaming and crying during the lessons. They had toys all over the place that I constantly had to tell my kids not to touch (even though they were all over the place). I didn’t feel comfortable swimming because I had an audience of parents taking up all the seating. I wish I would have been aware someone would be occupying the pool area all day.
