This place is a little slice of heaven. They are very dog friendly and everyone staying there had a furry friend in tow. We loved everything from the cute and cozy room to the basement where there was a TV and board games. My husband was still able to watch his sports games while my daughter and I played games. Gary, the front desk clerk is a gem in himself! We loved talking with him and he gave us THE BEST advice where to go. We were only in Union Pier for 3 days but it was a memorable three days for sure!

We didn't know the restaurant and bar was closed to be rennovated but it didn't matter in the longrun. We enjoyed our visit regardless!

The history, the story each wall, door, and window tells. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wonderful accommodations such as the communal fridge, the ice machine, basement with board games etc., the ability to use bicycles to ride down to the beach, the beautiful back yard, access to the lovely fire pit, fire wood provided, the option to order breakfast, the option to purchase water/ pops from the mini fridge inside the lobby.

The only thing I would say I “didn’t like” and it wasn’t a huge deal that it’s worth complaining but the stairs are small steps. Nothing being careful and slow when going up or down won’t solve.

The hotel was amazing and in the perfect spot to enjoy several activities such as renting bikes, walking and swimming. The hotel was a short walk to the beach through a lovely neighborhood full of beautiful homes and beautiful gardens. The hotel was a short walk to bike rental, deli, grocery store and gelato place. The rooms were comfy and clean and felt like I was staying in a guest room at someone's house. It had two rocking chairs where you could sit and read. A big king bed. Big bathroom and a jacuzzi tub. Staff were friendly and the lobby was like being in someone's living room. There was a restaurant called The Grove which had excellent food. Just an amazing weekend to enjoy without the stress of life!

Beautiful old charm hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Access to the lake is just a walk down the street. The town is so cute and has awesome food choices with a deli down the street that makes amazing sandwiches. Wonderful Gelato place and bike rental. Short drive to New Buffalo with cute shops. An awesome bookstore called Flourish with new and used books. Friendly owner and cute atmosphere.

I have no complaints about my stay.

For long stays, we typically rent an apartment. For shorter stays, we try to find an Inn with ambiance; the Gordon Beach Inn has ambience to spare. While the room was on the smaller size (somewhat European) the bathroom was excellent with older style furnishings, and a real cast-iron tub/shower. The First photo shows the Lobby and the Second the Private Beach, where you can take and drink your beverage of choice unlike the Alcohol-Free and Wonderful and Beautiful Warren Dunes State Park in the next two photos. The Inn location provides a Relaxing Environment reminding one of days past. Ensure you dine at the fabulous Grove Restaurant, which is part of the Inn. The Excellent Grove Chef delivers fantastic food at a reasonable price. The Grove also has a nice wine selection and beautiful inside seating, shown in the last photo, and outside screened-in seating.

I love this place and have repeatedly stayed here. The location is perfect and I love the quaint early 20th c feel. The beds are SUPER comfy. I slept with my window open and enjoyed the cool, fresh air in my room, and the smell of the other guest’s campfire in the common yard area.

This was my first stay here during high season. I would recommend the owners make it a child free facility, because people don’t have enough common sense to leave their screaming toddlers at home. I mean, who thinks a 100 year old inn and crabby children are compatible? Even the older kids, like the 7-9 year olds,had to be told repeatedly by the staff not to run the halls like stampeding buffalo and not to use the piano like a Family Feud button.

Breakfast ($6) was exactly as described, including a muffin from local bakery. It's an old building, a guest lodge from the 1920s. Charming, but be prepared for small rooms and basic bathroom. Ice and a fridge you can use in the lower level common area. Private beach a 5 minute walk away, then down the bluff stairs. Many very decent restaurants awake or short drive away. Great location.

Room was very small, with only one chair. Nice common area with seating to read, eat, etc. So don't expect typical hotel privacy.

Quiet, quaint, clean and relaxing. Comfortable bed and loved the history of the home and thankful that owners are continuing to preserve this home for a visit back in time. We enjoyed sitting by a fire in the lobby and visiting with other guests that had been frequent guests and shared of experiences at the inn on New Years Eve with bands etc. We’d be interested in attending a NYE weekend with dinner drinks and band! We found that in person, the inn surpassed the expectations from Booking photos. Staff friendly and accommodating also!

Liked everything except wished we’d been able to stay longer.

We loved that it was in a quiet area, and so peaceful. It's. A great place to spend time with your spouse, sitt by the fireplace and read, it take a walk on the private beach.The staff were very nice too. So much more character than a chain motel. We loved our stay celebrating our 41 wedding anniversary. Perfect ☺️

The location is great since it has access to the private beach, which isn't overly crowded.

The rooms are very old and outdated. Water pressure is low. Taking a shower is a tricky task since any other water movement affects the water temperature. The bathroom is very basic and small. The room is also very small and it would've been better if there's a desk or some other additional furniture.
