The property was close to every place I needed to visit. Also I love they have a microwave and refrigerator in the room.

Parking lot is kind of dark.

The breakfast was okay but I think more options in the menu will not be a bad idea. The choices are limited.Vegetables can be added to the meal to complement the existing menu.

I suggest hot water kettle should be provided in the room as an option for those who do not drink coffee. Going to the lobby in the night for hot water can be discouraging.

The room was of decent size and clean. The airport shuttle was a helpful feature and worked smoothly. Breakfast was exactly what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel in the U.S.: same small butter cup, same jam, powdered scrambled eggs, and no vegetables at all. I assume that’s just how it is in many similar hotels, rather than a specific fault of this one. Overall, the stay was functional.

However, one negative point worth mentioning is that the hotel holds a significant deposit as a security guarantee, which is not released immediately upon check-out. It took about 6–7 days for the amount to be unblocked, which was inconvenient.

The bed was very comfortable and room and bathroom were clean. Shuttle driver was very friendly. We were there less than 6 hours but stay was nice. Check in process went smooth and quick since we reserved and paid online

I booked this hotel for its free airport shuttle to Newark International Airport. The airport has its own train station that is served by NJ Transit and Amtrak trains providing an easy way to get to mid-town Manhattan (Penn Station). The shuttles leave every 30 minutes and drop off/pick up passengers at station P4 of the airport's Air Train monorail. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast opens at 6:00 a.m., which is good for those planning to catch early flights or trains.

The process of entering and, especially, departing from the parking lot was very confusing. The vending machines didn't work, at least, not for me. There were no shops like minimarts or restaurants within walking distance so it's best to bring whatever food you might need with you. The area around the hotel is mostly filled with other hotels and the proximity to the airport makes for a very confusing traffic patterns in an area characterized by super-heavy traffic.

The hotel was fine - it's an airport hotel so it meets all expectations by being in close proximity to the airport and it was clean, comfortable, and expectedly equipped (ie, fridge, coffee, TV). The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large (we stayed in King + Sofa Bed combo). The staff were absolutely incredible - I hope Holiday Inn treats their people well, becuase all over the world the Holiday Inn (usually Express) staff go above and beyond.

This is a complaint about Newark Airport, but also a little about the hotel's lack of communication: the airport shuttle does NOT drop you off at the terminal, but instead at the "air train" station, so you still have to lug everything (kids included) to the actual terminal. I assume this is some back-alley deal with the cabs so that people will choose to spend the money on a cab to get dropped off at the terminal instead of using the free (and mass-ish transit) shuttle options included in the hotel rates. Anyway, this was never communicated to us during the booking process and truth be told, I probably would not have booked the hotel had this been made clear.

The price was waaaay too high. Yes, inflation, I know, but you've got to be kidding me. Wasn't even in that room for 12 hours. They're making a killing.... still, they were doing everything right so I can't complain about the service at all.

Property was ok but with no restaurant close by we had to walk to the Hilton it’s not a long walk but it sucked of you have to walk in the cold and and wind with two seniors. No sidewalk at all the way there is not safe at all , being that close to the busy road in the dark . Your asking for trouble . Had we known it was that crappy to walk on a muddy path with bricks and garbage there I would have bothered and orders in . You need to adress that ASAP . There should be a walk way through the parking lot to the hotels . Especially if the Hilton is getting business from holiday inn express.

I just explain this . We got a room last minute because our flight back to Canada was canceled. We starving because we had a long day and the last thing we wanted to do was wok on muddy garbage path to a bit so great restaurant and spend another 170$ usd to walk back again . I don’t take pictures of the muddy garbage and dangerously path or ugly Deterioration of the shower heads . You cheaped out on the showers . Now that I think about it I would rate this place barely 7 out of 10 .

Staff was great. I'd also say overworked from my 12 hours there. Phone rang 5 times while I was checked in, and the lone employee was also handling the fax machine. Breakfast was excellent for a hot hotel Breakfast. Room was clean and met all the expected marks.

Bathroom had some rough spots (grime at tub base, broken drain piece, towel holders that were broken loose) but it was overall fine and met our needs. Water got dangerously hot. We told our little kids not to use the hot tap as it could've given them burns due to kids just turn it on full blast.
