The property was in a great location, of stores and restaurants in walking distance, modern room, and restaurant with live music some nights was very nice.
My only complaint would be no mini fridge or microwave. It’s very inconvenient when you’re out of town to go to a restaurant, have leftovers and cannot eat them later on. Also unable to have any cold bottled water in room.

The location was clean and the check in was smooth even with a very late/early morning arrival. It is in a location convenient to public transportation. The concierge (as much as it was) was very helpful in helping us figure out navigating the city on public transportation. The rooms were nicely appointed, while small compared to other cities across the country - it was actually a fair size compared to other NYC hotels.
There should be a fridge and or microwave in the rooms or available. The pricing seems about 15-20% higher than it should be considering the location. Rather than the restaurant/bar voucher - invest in a continental breakfast for guests.

Great decor and atmosphere in the bar and lounge and reasonable sized rooms by NYC standards. Really helpful and friendly staff
You have to check in in the bar area which feels weird when everyone is drinking, eating and looking fabulous and I'm dragging bags and just off an 8 hour flight! The hotel has only recently opened and some staff seemed untrained - not sure of the menus, opening times, etc It seemed odd to be able to order drinks mid afternoon but not food. And surely any cocktail bar should have bar snacks?

Harlem may have a bad reputation but it is indeed very safe and we were just above the iconic Apollo theater! The subway station (125th) is less than 200m far from the hotel and in no time you are in downtown. Day and night never had problem and never seen troubles. The view to Central Park from the room was amazing!
Honestly, nothing...just the time (weekend) was too short to enjoy everything.

The hotel itself was wonderfully expressive and unique, capturing the feel of an old theatre of which the building was once was and paying homage to classic NY jazz--It has character and my room was wonderfully cozy with nice details evoking the theme of the hotel included. The staff was generally excellent as well.
Very minor quibble--While the food was excellent and it was wonderful having the $25.00 voucher, the food was expensive--At the same time, this is understandable in a high scale hotel. A suggestion--perhaps it would be great to have a small snack/ souvenir store that usually exists in hotel--to grab after hours snacks or beverages without needing to order from restaurant. Or perhaps a snack vending machine would be great. They did have a beverages vending machine. I also noticed many families at the hotel and having a snack area for the kids would support accessibility for everyone.

Clean and nice rooms, best I've experienced in NY so far. So comfy beds and a large tv. The staff was helpful if we needed anything. We enjoyed the athmospherehe at the hotel bar and really fell in love with Harlem.
We were charged the wrong amount, but this was quickly fixed by Ebony so it didn't affect our experience. Will definitely visit again!

Location was great. Right next to the Apollo Theater and within 5 minutes of the two main subway stations needed to travel around Manhattan. Food in the lounge was excellent. Staff was attentive to needs and extremely nice. Bed was comfortable. This place made me want to come back to Harlem when I came back to NYC. Great food options within walking distance.
TV did not consistently work. After day 3 the volume would work but not anything else. A/C when adjusted would first become very humid in the room, but would settle down after 10-15 minutes. Made it feel uncomfortable during that time.

The atmosphere.
We went downstairs to get a complementry cup of coffee before heading out for the morning and a staff member had the NERVE to as us if we were staying there. To the point that she wanted to know our room number and if that wasn't enough she asked my last name.

I asked for a high floor and got the 23rd floor with a magnificent view! The $25 voucher was a great deal when eating at the restaurant. I tried to remember to use it everyday since the food was delicious!
The elevator was confusing as you had to use your room card to go to room floors in a confusing manner (tap, key in number, tap again?). Also, I ate at the restaurant and forgot about the $25 voucher and when I went back after cashing out (10 minutes later) I was told that the price couldn't be adjusted It would be helpful if restaurant waiters asked if we were staying at the hotel before ringing up our tab as I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and forgot to use the voucher twice when ordering from the hotel restaurant which I ate at once daily.
