It's a wonderful Lodge/hotel. Exceeded our expectations. It is situated in such a stunning area by lake. Outside the Lodge, lots of different outdoor activities, like golf, netball, chess , swimming by the lake or the pool! No extra pay like some places do. They also have a sitting area with the fire pit lit outside so guests can make marshmallows and relax. Some nights musicians play live music. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely. I have to mention, " Schroon Lodge famous cookies." I believe the staff are making them every afternoon for people who stay at the Lodge. They were amazing! So thoughtful.

Perhaps Booking.com could add a map of all the cabins and hotel layout of the rooms? Just like they have it on their Schroon Lodge website so people know exactly what they are booking. If you have never been there before, it's tricky to picture where the rooms you're booking are located or if they are facing the lake. If you care about the view of the lake or a balcony, it's certainly worth knowing you have booked the right room. Just a thought, not a criticism.

Beautiful property, adorable decor. Gorgeous view of the lake from the entrance. The staff was so friendly. The indoor pool and hot tub was huge and had an amazing view of the snow outside. The game room was a fun addition for indoor activities in the bitter cold. They even have freshly baked cookies and hot cocoa at the front desk-free! Loved our time here, especially for the price.

vending machines or easier access to bottle water and soda and snacks would be helpful. They have some for purchase in the office at the front desk, but it is not visible or noticed. No major complaints really!

The location was great, right across from the lake. The onsite restaurant had a nice firepit outside the tavern. The pool and hot tub areas are very nice and the fitness room is really great.

The staff were talking loudly, slamming doors and using a hammer drill right outside my room at 8 am. The property's offices are right in the same area/hallway as the guest rooms. I was on vacation and trying to have a relaxing time with a little later checkout than the early wakeup from all the noise. It would have been nicer if they didn't start work on the property until guests have left their rooms.

We really enjoyed all of the amenities at the lodge, including the tennis courts, pool, sauna, and workout room. We also enjoyed the close proximity to Schroon Lake, right across the street. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms were spotless, comfortable and spacious. The cute little town has a low-key mix of coffee shop, diner and lakeside views.

We were really happy to learn that the paddleboards were available for free use for guests that weekend, but would have hoped to have free use of them at all times. You have to go online and book and pay for the use of kayaks and paddle boards through the town.

Hot tub and pool were advertised to open at 8 am. We had plans Thursday afternoon so we planned on using the hot tub at 8 am. The pool area was littered with cups and used towels still at 8am from the night before, and as of 845 hot tub still not available, tried again at 8 am on Friday and I was told it might be ready at 9. As this was the only activity we were planning on doing, it was very disappointing. Also paying $5.40 for a small coffee with 1 cream to go from the restaurant Thursday morning was very overpriced.

Idk why anyone could give this place a negative review. I swear people just like to complain. This is our go to ADK STAY. Much better then lake George and lake placid. They are very accommodating with our service dog. I truly love it here home away from home. So much to do here without ever leaving the resort. Especially in the warmer months.

Nothing negative just a few things to work on we are here often while here already booking future stays. I wish they would offer deals like places we stayed in lake George for their loyal customers like ourselves. Restaurant a bit pricey but that would be OK if the menu was bigger and some Italian food. Maybe it's me because I'm a chef myself but that not gonna keep us from returning. We feel safe while we stay this places really cares about their customers.

Stunning entrance, top class decor, very welcoming reception staff… Room wasn’t huge but well thought out. Swimming pool was a big pull for us and had good outside deck area beyond.

We only ate one evening in bar area and food wasn’t great, very basic. It was raining hard so didn’t walk out to restaurant on site, which we regretted after. Also our drinks came in plastic glasses. We overheard that was because we were sitting in armchairs not at bar, but seemed odd.

It was nicely situated overlooking the lake and walking distance from town. It had a great Adirondack camp feel. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.

This is a remodel of the former “Word of Life” retreat property. The building we stayed in didn’t have any room with a view of the lake. That’s mostly from the common areas as far as I could tell. The rooms were newly remodeled but frankly lacking is style and appointment if they are seeking the clientele I believe they are shooting for. The room was nice and clean but it wouldn’t demand a 5 star pricetag.

So cozy and nice nature surroundings. The woman who checked us in was excellent. Great, friendly personality. The spring water in room was nice.

No complimentary breakfast which we knew going in but still would be nice to have something. The room was small/cramped and in a noisy hallway. May have been due to its historic nature as rooms were smaller I assume. Pool was in repair- had potential to be really nice but didn’t quite meet the mark. I think the cost was a little high for the room we had. I’m sure there are over rooms at the property.

The Lodge is absolutely lovely. Plenty of different accommodations for a couple to a family, to a girls weekend. They have chalets, cabins, and rooms in the main lodge. With the exception of meals, you don’t have to leave unless you want too. There was a small bar menu with limited options available so we did need to venture out for food. There is also the Brown Swan which is open for brunch and dinner ( with reservations). No muffins, juices or fruit for the main lodge guests yet but that may be changing. All in all our stay was very enjoyable. We will return soon!

Meal choices for sure! No breakfast items are available, however, fresh coffee was available in the morning. Sitting at the bar with a cocktail without something to eat, even popcorn or bar snacks, would have encouraged us to stay and enjoy the bartenders and other guests. We shared our concerns with management and they were quite receptive. They are fairly new tho so may take some time.
