This B&B was a very relaxing stay for my wife and I to do a run in Middlebury, kayaking, and leaf peeping. We loved the bucolic atmosphere; we watched birds and other wildlife from the patio on the front of our room. The breakfast was excellent and everyday there was a special treat. We really enjoyed the bar in the evenings, talking with Scott and Kevin and enjoying Whiskey Pig, which is local to the area.

The only thing that we had to get used to was the lack of cellphone coverage. The wifi mitigated it, but it took us a day to adapt. That's not a rap against Shoreham, but you just need to be aware.

Bed was comfortable, exceptionally clean, quiet at night, staff was exceptional, location was good. About 20 minutes from the tractor pulls. Can’t say enough good about them.

Don’t have TV’s in room, which I’m fine with. But my companion likes to catch the news morning & night. We’re both up in our 70’s. We were a little Leary about the step when you entered the room. You entered then stepped down into room, then going to the bathroom you stepped back up and then another step into bathroom. A little scary for elderly during the night. But we managed. You get used to changes after the first night.

Our stay at the Shoreham Inn was awesome, we hated to leave (we did, however, extend our stay). We stayed in the Orchard Room (here referred to as the Junior Suite) is very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is homemade with special attention given to food allergies. They go above and beyond! Innkeepers Kevin and Scott and their server Michelle are friendly, welcoming and ready to help in any way, whether for suggestions and directions to restaurants or to nearby sightseeing adventures: Fort Ticonderoga, Mt Defiance, and the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour are all just a 7 minute ferry ride across Lake Champlain (in fact, the road the Inn is on leads to the ferry dock and takes you to Ticonderoga, NY)! We highly recommend the Shoreham Inn to anyone visiting the Shoreham, VT or Ticonderoga, NY area!

Caution: stairs to upper floors are steep, as to be expected in a 1700s building.

They were very engaging when we arrived and throughout our stay. The hosts provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and restaurants to try. They are located very near the ferry to Ticonderoga, NY which has a famous historic fort to visit. The restaurants they suggested were all fantastic. It was enjoyable meeting them in their wonderful old tavern bar in the late afternoon, engaging in conversation, and watching them prepare classic and modern beverages. The hosts were attentive to special dietary needs for breakfast and were open to feedback so they could improve the quality of their offerings.

Nothing specifically stands out for areas to improve as they are already actively working to elevate their offerings.

Deep in the quiet countryside in Vermont is this grand wooden farm house, now an Inn. Lovely landscaping all around. Comfortable breakfast room and sitting rooms. Filled with antiques and polished wood everywhere. It takes you right back to yesteryears. Comfy beds and homey touches. Nice hosts. Reliable WiFi.

The main house is not suitable for motion impaired people as there is a steep stair to be negotiated to get to your room. There is no elevator. We are told an outbuilding will have a separate suite suitable for handicapped person. Also, no tv: not necessarily a bad thing.

The inn was sparkling clean and inviting; the room spacious and comfortable. Artifacts depicting the inn’s history and a veritable library of classic literature made me want to spend an extra day or two just reading. The innkeepers were friendly, kind and accommodating. All around the perfect spot for a getaway; exactly the kind of experience one hopes for staying at a historic inn in a quaint town. Wish we’d had more time to spend, and hope to return!

Room and facilities very comfortable. Charming house, parking right out front. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating, before and during our weekend stay. We were visiting Ticonderoga, which is closeby yet most easily reached by a small ferry - a surprise, but a fun 7 min ride. The ferry stops at 6 pm though, and in that case guests would drive up to Crown Point to cross the lake.

Not related to the management of this property: There are not many restaurants or bars to relax in evening. We went to Middlebury for dinner after our arrival, and then our plans were rained out the next night, so we ended up going back to that town. We understand though these are not big "night life" towns, so it was just a bit inconvenient to drive 20 min to dinner.

The Inn at Shoreham is a beautiful and charming inn. The inn has a long history, but is outfitted with modern, comfortable amenities. Kevin and Scott were attentive innkeepers and made delicious breakfasts everyday- pancakes, dutch babys, maple cake, banana bread etc. I highly recommend staying at this inn for an exceptional experience of hospitality!

This is a gem, like stepping back into history. The Inn has all the charm as one would want. The rooms are lovely, well thought out with decor and comfort, and the breakfasts are wonderful! Don’t miss the chance to mingle with the owners and guest at the bar downstairs in the evenings and over breakfast in the mornings. Located near many beautiful Maine farmland views and close to several communities. It is a must stay!
