We just stayed here for a long weekend. I feel like I need to comment on some of the previous reviews. The front office staff were friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check in a little early, which was wonderful. The room was very clean, including the bedding and bathroom. Yes, the beds are a little soft, but didn't prevent us from sleeping very well. Water pressure and hot water was never an issue. Outdoor pool was great, and yes, a little sandy at the bottom- but to be expected when you come in from the beach. There was someone cleaning the pool every morning. We had no issues with housekeeping, always had plenty of towels. Yes, the towels are average. If you want more fluffy towels, bring your own. The elevator was working, slow, but it works. Yes, you have to walk through the building walkways if you are in building 7; the elevator is located in building 1. Continental breakfast is what one would expect. There are sausage biscuits available for those who want more protein. There are 2 ice machines on site. They request for you to not fill up your cooler, which is reasonable. Is it a little dated? Sure, but clean and comfortable. The walls are thinner, so you do hear your neighbors. Wear earplugs if it bothers you that much. . Do not let the negative reviews fool you! This place is charming, right on the beach, has covered parking (first come, first serve) and walking distance to many restaurants, activities and shopping.

The only disappointment was that the Tiki bar was not open as advertised

Overall, the Islander Inn had everything you could ask just footsteps away. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. We loved the included continental breakfast that was served each day . That parking was included was a great plus .

The only thing I could say on the negative side is that the property is a little dated and needed some update repairs , toilet seat had chips and wear all around . The peephole in our door had a tissue through it , there was no glass cover. There was rusting on a lot of the door knobs , faucets, fixtures in our room and around the facility. Paint was wore in many places. The hotel just needs to have a little bit of a spruce up.

It was a nice location. The view from the room was perfect. The pool was clean. Would stay again

Housekeeping is the only negative from the stay. At exactly 8 am they cleaned the room next to ours and were so loud. Woke us up because the trash shoot is next to our room. Sounds like they were dumping 60 glass bottles. The shower curtain from our room had dirty handprints on it.

Great location & outdoor pool. Friendly staff!! Accommodating when asked for anything. Enjoyed our stay! See you in July! Good parking no across the street stuff. Beds comfy. Great door dash and/or restaurants here and/or dinner or in calabash only 10-30 mins away. Easy trash & towel service. Views great. Bar keep great & personable. Pop & ice machines good. Air conditioner great!

Could use umbrellas at the pool for shade and hot dogs, burgers & fries at bar. More coffee packs, trash bags & ice bucket liners left in room at beginning of stay. Mark buildings better on the outside of the actual buildings with assigned parking for one car at each building. Take hand soap with you.. provide a pump had soap at stay. Speakers & music updated at outdoor pool. Snack machines. Pull handles on hall doors instead of knobs make it easier to load & unload room. No parking right out side carport areas maybe in between it was hard to get the Tahoe out of spot with 2 large trucks behind me.

The location was great. Continental breakfast served till 10. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I really liked that they didn't limit you to just one parking pass, and as part of a group of friends traveling and coming from different states, this was a HUGE bonus. The walk to the beach was short and easy.

I would say the only inconvenience was that there is only one elevator for the entire complex. It's not anything that would prevent us from staying again, but when you're on the opposite end, it would have made things a little easier, especially in terms of managing luggage carts loaded down(especially if it's raining and the wind is blowing the rain sideways!..lol).

The room was nice. I loved the balcony. Easy access to the beach.

I thought the breakfast was a deluxe meal per the website. It was more like a continental breakfast. The Inn is not at all handicap accessible. There was one elevator and our room was on the opposite end of the Inn. We had a member of our party that had difficulty walking distances so that made it VERY hard.

We liked about everything! Comfortable room. Front desk staff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Breakfast is satisfying, though we usually get Greek yogurt to go with our breakfasts for the protein boost. I love that the breakfast room looks out at the ocean and doesn't have TVs blaring news like so many do. Having a truly indoor pool was once more a beautiful thing on rainy days.

The walls between our room and the adjoining room were a bit thin. Thankfully, the occupants were pretty considerate. This property has been doing some great renovations. One thing I'd like to see improved is the stairs leading from the shower and gazebo to the parking lot. Erosion has made them a bit tricky to navigate. We only had one washcloth when we got into our room, but the front desk was quick to provide more.

I love that the property was directly on the beach and they offered n indoor and outdoor pool areas. I like that they have conjoined rooms. I also loved that they didn’t bother us once the whole stay. We just put out our dirty towels n blankets and they’d give us fresh one.

I didn’t like how the breakfast didn’t have any protein at all. It was mostly just breads. Also I didn’t like how the elevator stalled every time we got on it.

There are renovations going on, which is understandable, but buildings were not labeled. I had to return to the office to have a staff member walk me to my room. There were no directions on how to operate the TV. However, each time I asked for help. It was promptly given. I appreciate the complimentary breakfast and the ability to enjoy the beach and parking after checkout.

At the we went they were fixing the elevator so every time we had to go somewhere or to the beach we had to use the stairs and for my mom it was hard on her knees! But It was good exercise so I don’t complain.
