After years of passing the White House Inn on my way to Bennington, I'm glad to have finally stayed there. The rooms are eclectic and comfortable, and the grandeur of the common spaces and dining rooms have been nicely updated. The combo hand-held and rain shower fixtures were an unexpected delight in a turn-of-the-century Inn. The fire going in the Mahogany Room next to deep leather sofas was a big draw. The young and friendly staff brought a lively energy to the Inn's hospitality.

The mattress in Room 14 should be retired...over soft and lumpy and not a good night's sleep.

The Inn is wonderfully maintained, a beautiful New England classic. The room was comfortable. The restaurant downstairs was excellent.

The staff was fine - a bit remote, and sometimes slow to deal with such matters as running out of paper towels, napkins, etc. Generally, the staff needs to be warmer and more welcoming, and more of a presence. It felt a bit like we were staying at a place with no personal presence. Except for the restaurant, where both Patrick and Mike were great!

Love the historic buildings and the view! The bed was comfortable, linens and bathroom clean. Nice sitting areas for relaxing between meals. Check in/out was smooth and easy! We wish we had more time to stay explore more because everything was very beautifully done.

Very few outlets in the room! Historic property I know… but it would have been tricky if I needed to charge more than our phones. Also the room was listed as having a shower and a tub but only had a walk in shower. Not the end of the world but I do look for forward to having a bath so it was a little bit of a let down. An accurate listing could avoid any future heartbreak!

Service is excellent. A high quality restaurant on site. Beds and bedding very comfy. Some rooms have gas fireplaces. The gathering room on the main level has a fireplace and in the evenings is a great place to hang out and meet people. The property is rich in lore and history. There’s a secret staircase that’s fun to see. The breakfast room is cozy and welcoming also with a fireplace. It is situated up on a hill w a great view. Easy check-in. Close to restaurants and Mount Snow. I love this place.

Great place overall, cozy, quiet, historical yet well kept. Very comfortable bed and linen, nice modern bathroom. Great breakfast and nice lounge with a fireplace. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.

The bathroom had no vent and got very humid which was felt in the bedroom if we left the door opened; but it was not perfectly fine once the door was closed for a little while. The outside lights are brights and some extra blinds would be nice (for me who likes a very dark room).

The decor was stunning! It’s obvious there was a lot of detail and thought into decorating to keep an “Inn” feel. Our stay was everything and more than what I expected! Hoping to come back for the Holidays!

Overall our stay was amazing, although the weather was warm for November, the Inn was very hot. We had cocktails and dinner in the bar area, the fireplace was on but also think heat was on. The staff had visible signs of sweat

The inn has an old world flair but without looking dated. Very cozy atmosphere with the fireplace in the dayroom. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfy. Nice towels. The breakfast was ok, they offered fresh fruit and good coffee. Liked the restaurant on site but… quite expensive.

Bathroom was not great- needs update. No shower pressure.

This was a great place to stay, would have enjoyed staying longer. Beautiful old renovation of an old mansion house. Very comfortable bed and nice room. Desk clerk originally from Idaho was great, Made us feel welcome and gave us a tour of the facilities. Great stay

The parking was a little far from the entrances, but it was ok.

The inn keeper and other staff are super friendly and helpful! The location and the view from the house is great! I also enjoyed a lovely osso buco at the onsite restaurant.

The general cleaning in the public area can be improved given the weather. Ideally the snow and salt stain on the nicely preserved hardwood and carpet get cleaned off more promptly.

The grounds and buildings are beautiful. Location up on a hill with a beautiful view. The view from our second floor room was really nice. The room was large and had a fireplace

I didn't know the room I booked had a set of stairs to our bedroom. I got up several times to go to the bathroom, so it was difficult for me to go up and down the narrow and steep stairs
