Location, location, location and that is was a nice, pretty property. Grocery store across the street & fast food & sit down Mexican in walking distance. Also downtown (with many restaurant options) is in walking distance. Housekeeping & front desk staff were very helpful.
Towels were changed every other day; would have preferred every day. Many other reviews say this is the best hotel breakfast ever. It’s the same as Holiday Inn Express, etc, with hot eggs, whole oranges/apples/bananas, weak but hot & plentiful coffee, oatmeal, items to toast, etc. The breakfast area is in the historic part of the hotel and it’s a very pretty place to sit and eat. We ate take out for breakfast & supper in this area and enjoyed it. The price was triple for one of the nights we stayed; I assume because it was around the time of WLU graduation—happens in all college towns around graduation time or game days, though.

The room was spacious with parking outside the room which was really convenient. The property had a lot of historical character and the gardens were well looked after. There was a hot breakfast buffet
We were woken several times in the night by people shouting and clattering up and down on the walkway outside our room. I was disappointed that we had to eat with plastic cutlery from paper plates. Given the price and the lovely old building this felt very cheap

The facilities were lovely, in keeping with the town of Lexington. A wonderful old brick manor home was the main building. The location was also very convenient and easy to reach the nature trails and hikes that we went on. The town of Lexington is so wonderfully quaint, with good places to eat. So much fun. Hampton Inn provided excellent value for the money. A much appreciated addition was that upon arrival we received two bottles of water! Truly appreciated!
Nothing.

The location was perfect! The property and the grounds were great and I will definitely stay there again next time I am in town. Plenty of parking. Quiet area. Very close to the historic downtown area. Beautiful main building. Hopefully I will get the chance to use the pool and hot tub when I go again.
Just would have liked a variety of pillow types. They were all to big for me to comfortably sleep, but it was too late at night for me to bother anyone with a pillow request.

This is quite a unique Hampton Inn situated on a spacious, well-manicured lawn in downtown Lexington. I stayed in one of the Historical Manors, and it was quite an experience. These colonial style rooms are elegant and spacious, using colonial style and decor. Don't worry though, the bathroom is quite modern. A definite must for history buffs passing through Lexington. Its a short walk into the downtown shop, restaurants, and museum area, as well as to Washington & Lee College. Also just a hop and a skip away from a Blue Ridge parkway entrance, where you can get stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley and drive on to Shenandoah National Park.
You do have to carry your luggage up spiral staircase steps to the manors, so bear that in mind when planning what to bring. I felt it was a small price to pay though for the historic ambience, so not really problem for me. But could be limiting to those not able to carry heavy bags well.

historic, cool layout. nice staff. the beds are great, if a little high. but nice mattress and pillows. great breakfast in historic part of hotel.
It’s dark, hard to find at night from the road. The front steps are awful. Maybe add some easy steps. I get it. they’re historic. still they are very tall! We were given the wrong kind of room after I explicitly called to get a king accessible. We ended up with double non accessible. but we were too tired to move once we got to the room. but I may have paid more for that king room. so… actually the guy I called to ask the question wasn’t very nice or helpful. but everyone else was.

The property, which includes the building and also the expansive property, were very impressive. Many large magnificent trees. Old log cabin on property. The details of the old part of the hotel building (dining room, main entrance, sitting room, etc.,) were from times past and awesome. Also very clean and well-kept. Great location too. I would stay here again.

This is a gorgeous motel, close to everything. I was surprised it was less expensive than I anticipated. The room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. Wish the pool was indoor since it rained the entire time we were there, so my young grandson was a bit disappointed.
Nothing, this is a great place to stay.

The Hotel was part of an historic building on a beautiful piece of property. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The porch was an excellent location to read earlier in the morning. My Wife and I will not hesitate to stay there again if we are in the Lexington, VA area.

Our room at the far end of the building was nice and quiet. I appreciate the fresh fruit and oatmeal at the breakfast bar.
Not a fan of the turkey sausage in the breakfast bar. I can't eat them because they're a gout trigger.
