Breakfast was great every morning--eggs/omelets were cooked, but not dried out. Staff was great! Even when there was an event going on over the weekend they were making sure food was prepared and put out so people could eat. Also, I have hips that sometimes pain me, and the mattress was VERY soft. I asked if there was an option of either flipping the mattress, changing out the mattress or changing rooms. They were able to flip the mattress, which resulted in my ability to sleep better.

When I first checked in, I was told that they had moved us to a King suite, rather than the two doubles I had reserved. I wasn't sure how that would work out, as I was traveling with my daughter, which was perhaps a little awkward. I understand that there was a major event taking place that weekend, but it would have been nice to know about this ahead of time or perhaps given another option.

This is what a hotel experience should be. The facilities lovely without being extravagant or overdone. the breakfast was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They seemed to really take pride in the their work. The room was just what we needed. We have paid far more for a room at a fancier hotel that paled in comparison to the comfort of this room and class of this room. The bed was actually comfortable and the room had everything we could have needed. I will stay at another Holiday Inn Express because this experience was so positive.

layout of the room was great. traveling with a small dog, you tend to bring food into the room, as it's tough to eat out. nice to have an area to put food and chairs to sit on...not a bed to get dirty. nice big bathroom with large counter.

every hotel is so expensive now. $250 with a dog per night is outrageous in my opinion, but that is what everyone is charging, I just don't like it!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful

Pool area needs paint touch up and pool was very cold. I was told $5 a day for roll away bed and they charged me $15 a day. You could see on my checking account that money was removed and then refunded and did it again. I have never had a company charge me like this as you can see the whale the paint is peeling off and doesn’t look good at all especially in photos.

The kiddie pool was great for my grandchildren. The breakfast options were fantastic. The size of the room met our needs and worked well with the grandchildren. Would definitely stay there again.

There needs to be more hooks or towel bars in the bathroom. I had to ask for more towels as there weren't enough for the amount of people that were staying there. Extra toilet paper would be nice too.

Rooms are always clean. Breakfast is amazing!

When there are large groups of kids, there never seems to be any control of their behavior. We thought being on the top floor would be quieter but they were thundering up and down the hallways all evening. There did not seem to be any adult presence around for supervision.

Front desk attendant was very kind and accommodating. I was stranded by the ice storm and he showed compassion and kindness which was very appreciated. Very clean room, bathroom smelled clean but not too much like chemicals. Comfortable bed

The hotel was great. Heidi Hanson the assistant general manager was very helpful and professional with everything!

Very nice stuff, helpful and the place was very neat. This is our 4 time at this place, coming back every year!

Fantastic pool area with a kiddie pool that our little ones really enjoyed. The breakfast was good and the breakfast area and staff were fantastic. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and clean rooms!

It doesn't have the best sound proofing, you can hear pretty good from rooms to hallways and people walking (or kids running) in rooms beside or above you. It wasn't bad enough to disturb our sleep or comfort in any way, but if you're very sensitive to noises you might want to consider ear plugs or something.

The rooms were clean and roomy. The staff was excellent. This was my 1st time staying in the Wausau area and I will stay here again should I come back.

That I missed breakfast Monday morning! 🤣🤣 Didn't realize it closed at 930 because it was a weekday (Labor Day)
