-15min taxi from the airport, it was practical as we arrived in the middle of the night and were able to quickly check-in (download Yandex for cheap taxis) -great A/C and amazing WiFi (managed to stream flawlessly) -comfortable beds and even more comfortable cushions -great shower -2 complimentary bottles of water per day per room -close to Pub Street which has a bit of nightlife (5min walk) -ATM around the corner but hotel takes credit card -breakfast was decent but got repetitive -Samarkand restaurant which is great is around the corner -English speaking staff

-I like a pitch black room and here there was a lot of light arriving in the morning -didn't manage to get the TV to work (but also didn't care) -pool needs to be booked in advance for 1h slot, sauna needs to be paid for and it's in the lower ground. Didn't end up using. -it's a 40min walk to Ragestan, 25min to Amir Tamur's mausoleum so not that close but also not far either. We didn't mind the location as we like walking and taxis were super cheap too.

Just got back from Samarkand where we stayed at the WellFort Hotel for almost a week, and I honestly can't say enough good things about this place! We were traveling with my mom who uses a wheelchair, so I was pretty nervous about accessibility. The front desk staff were amazing from day one - helping with our bags, always making sure my mom could get around easily, and even giving us free spring water bottles all the time (we drink like a fish, lol). The rooms were way better than I expected. Super comfy beds and pillows, and they had tea setups and mini-fridges which was perfect for late-night snacks. During our stay, the power went out twice across the whole city, but we didn't even notice because their generators kicked in immediately. Breakfast was INSANE. Seriously, we've traveled to 15+ countries and this was hands-down the best hotel breakfast we've had. Different options every day and everything was so fresh and delicious. We'd finish breakfast and already be excited about what they'd serve the next morning! The kitchen staff deserves special mention too - whenever we wanted to eat outside, they'd set up a separate table just for us without any fuss. And instead of just handing us tea bags like most hotels, they'd bring full teapots when we asked. It's those little touches that show they really care about guest preferences rather than just doing the minimum. One night my mom's wheelchair got a flat tire and we were panicking because we had tours planned for the next day. The maintenance guy (didn't catch his name) actually fixed it for us on the spot! Completely saved our trip. The pool setup was a really nice surprise - you can reserve it just for your family at no extra cost. With the heatwave happening while we were there, they converted their hot tub into a cold plunge pool which was PERFECT after sweaty sightseeing days.

had an absolutely wonderful experience during my stay. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable – everything was exactly as I had hoped for. A special mention goes to the amazing staff who made my stay even more memorable. Rayhona at the reception was incredibly kind, always greeting me with a warm smile and a helpful attitude. She truly made me feel welcome and cared for. Nazim, who worked the night shift, was also fantastic – very professional, friendly, and attentive to any requests I had. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent service, clean and cozy rooms, and genuinely friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back!

The rooms is so comfortable, the facilities for the pool and sauna is amazing, you can book it privately per hour. Special thanks to the receptionist staffs Rayhona. Askar, Nazir. They are friendly, hospitable and speaking good English. Especially Rayhona she’s so cute and kind from the moment we arrived she gave room upgrade without asking. I highly recommend this hotel for your star in samarkan, the location is convenient too.

Breakfast could have more options

Quiet neighbourhood in a nice part of town. The hotel was really nice, comfortable beds, clean and a great breakfast. Lovely staff. There are quite a few wonderful restaurants with in walking distance.

Nothing really, enjoyed it thoroughly. We were initially booked in a hotel with in walking distance to the historic sites but the hotel was sub par and the neighbourhood sketchy. We moved to the Well Fort and therefore needed to take a taxi to the sites but that was well worth it and taking a taxi got to show you the town.

Small and cosy hotel. Room was clean. Bedding was comfortable. Location is more in the posh centre than historic so you have to take taxi. Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially manager and lady in the reception who both spoke good English. Breakfast was basic but I guess everybody finding what they need. In the season of watermelon first day they didn’t have it, but upon on my request all following mornings there was watermelon, melon and peaches. All delicious.

Unfortunately the swimming pool and jacuzzi water was not heated and too cold to use. It was for me a disappointment as I booked this hotel exactly because of the pool.

Loved our stay! The rooms were big, clean and well equipped (including modern charging points). The staff were friendly and spoke English. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable including booking a guide for us and holding our luggage while we roamed around. The breakfast spread was great. The area around the hotel has many restaurants (Indian including) and supermarkets. The area is quiet and beautiful. The hotel is a short cab ride away from all the main tourist spots. We all loved our stay and if you're in Samarkand, you should definitely book this hotel! Definitely one of the best hotels we stayed in Uzbekistan.

Nice new hotel. Clean modern rooms. We stayed in the ‘budget’ and standard category rooms and felt the ‘budget’ room was larger and nicer. The pool area is great. The breakfast was also great. I’d recommend.

Restaurant only served breakfast. We requested late check out and this was denied despite the same category room being available online for the same day. We felt the hotel were being difficult. This was later resolved by us paying to use another room but we had to move which was annoying.

The hotel is fairly new and everything is clean and comfy. We took a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff were all nice and helpful. The location is great. The private pool facility is nice. Great stay at Wellfort. We would do it again. Breakfast was generous enough and the lady at the breakfast is extremely nice.

The air conditioning on the 4th floor is not strong enough to beat the summer heat.
