The facilities are excellent; comfortable, spacious, excellent quality products. Fabulous food, including breakfast (a la carte from a very extensive menu when we visited), snacks, and restaurant meals. We enjoyed the happy hour drinks by the pool, which is heated. Great views. Buggy service was prompt, and all-round service. We took a full day trek. Our guide Vinh monitored our capacity and modified the walk accordingly. We enjoyed our time with him and that he shared his local knowledge with us. Transfers to and from Hanoi were very comfortable. We loved our stay, thankyou.

Not a criticism, but suggest if you have mobility issues, you advise the property beforehand. Also be aware the drive from Hanoi is quite long.

I only booked one night at Avana Retreat for my boyfriend's birthday, as he needed a relaxing getaway—and the hotel absolutely delivered. It’s a true haven of peace. I visited during the winter, and while the rice fields might not be as lush and green as in the summer, the stunning landscapes still took my breath away. Plus, the off-season meant fewer tourists, allowing us to fully recharge and enjoy the privacy and tranquility we were seeking. My boyfriend tried the Avana Waterfall massage, and although it’s a budget, he said it was the best massage of his life. The rooms are luxurious, and we loved spending the night there. If we had more time and a bigger budget, we would have stayed longer. I also attended the Rattan-weaving workshop, which I really enjoyed. It’s included in the reservation, and I really appreciated doing this activity. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they went above and beyond by preparing a birthday cake for my boyfriend. It’s those little touches that make a big difference. I highly recommend Avana Retreat—it’s perfect for anyone in need of relaxation, beautiful surroundings, and outstanding service.

Honestly, I have no complaints—my only frustration is not being able to stay longer to experience all the amazing activities the hotel offers

Beautiful Retreat. It is one of the nicest Retreat hotels I have been to in the world. It's peaceful, relaxing, extremely well designed, and all about nature and beautiful views, you won't be disappointed. They have their own app, so you can arrange a golf buggy to pick you up from your villa and take you around the grounds. You can arrange hikes, candle making, weaving, etc through the app. Food was great too. The staff are friendly and very helpful. 3 full days would be perfect here.

I loved this place, there are no negatives if you are after a relaxing time. The only thing I would say is, the prices are very much Western world prices (Europe/USA), so it is not cheap compared to rest of Vietnam

Amazing service and hospitality from reception to buggy drivers to wait staff. They ensure your room is always tended to (multiple times a day) and the onsite activities were a nice touch.

It is almost too kid-friendly which detracts from a more peaceful experience if you’re expecting a retreat-like atmosphere. There should be some rules discouraging rowdiness during dining hours or at least have a dedicated family section in the restaurant, because having kids constantly running around and shouting during meal times diminishes the resort’s full potential as a relaxing getaway.

The property is very beautiful and set on a hillside. The pool is exceptional, as is the poolside happy hour (2 for 1) from 15:00-18:00. We did two different spa treatments- 60 min massage and the 90 min couples romance. They were more expensive than other massages in SE Asia but very good and the setting of the massage rooms is unparalleled. We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed more.

I would have liked to be able to customize some of the activities since they end up being private tours. Adding a bicycle activity would be great

beautiful oasis and perfect location to relax and unwind after a long road trip. friendly staff and dreamy spa in midst of the jungle. good treatments and a beautiful pool area. small but great gym with all the equipment you need. superb breakfast with local and western dishes and of course proper Vietnamese coffee upon request. Very quiet with beautiful nature sounds only, and the bungalows with a spacious terrace are set far enough apart to ensure privay.

The location is a truly serene retreat. All the activities and onsite locations thoroughly entertained the kids. Beautiful swimming pool, Wildlife, water falls, forest walks, duck feeding, animal farm, outdoor cinema with ducks after dinner. Just magical and very special memories for our children. Incredible yoga room looking over paddy fields. Staff were kind and attentive.

Ants were attracted by the complimentary chocolates left by hotel in an unsealed wooden box. I kept on having to take the box to the outside terrace.

This hotel is stunning and built up a hill. There are golf buggies that will take you anywhere on the property. Facilities are amazing with a gym, pool, historical buildings, library, and restaurants. It is a true resort in the middle of the country. The food was great! We had all of our meals there because the resort is far from the town. But there was plenty of variety and the breakfast buffet was special.

The resort was mind-blowing. The heated pool, the grounds, the waterfalls, the service, the buggies taking to wherever you want from your villa - everything was superlative. Loved the complimentary minibar and daily fruit juice. The bathroom was also ensconced in floor to ceiling windows looking out into the forest - it is as amazing as the photos look. We stayed for 4 nights and definitely plan to be back. It's also more suitable for people who do not require a lot of activities and are happy just chilling all day or reading a book.

The food in the Green Chilli restaurant was average, and could be a little better for the price point. There were also some bugs/lizards in the room, which you have to be chill about/assiduous about shutting the doors properly since you're basically in a forest retreat.

This was the nicest hotel I think I've ever stayed in. Staff was warm and helpful. Breakfast fantastic and the vegetarian options yummy (the catfish special dish was amazing says my friend!). We enjoyed making batik and candles, visiting the spa, watching the ducks, visiting the different parts of the resort grounds, a village hike, photographing the plants and butterflies and just enjoyed being in a beautiful place with kind people and excellent service.
