I recently stayed at the Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir in Cairo, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Cairo, making it an excellent base for exploring the city's iconic landmarks. A special thanks to Farida Amr, the Guest Relations Supervisor, whose exceptional hospitality made my stay unforgettable. She was incredibly attentive and went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect, leaving a lasting impression with her warm and professional service. The breakfast selection was outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. The bar and restaurant also deserve praise for their high-quality food and excellent service—perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Overall, Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cairo. I can’t wait to return!

+ The breakfast is OK with open buffet and timings are for long period ( 6:30 - 10:30 ). + Location is in Cairo center very near to Tahrir Square. + Staff is generally helpful and smiling. + Room facilities are generally enough. + Cleaning of room is good and daily. + WiFi is working good. + Air condition was working properly.

- Room size was OK but can be little bit bigger. - Breakfast options can be more for open buffet. - Sometimes staff is very communicative more than it should be. - You may receive a call to your room at 9:00 pm at night from reception to ask " how is your stay ? " It should be asked in more logic timings. - Laundry service is OK but prices can be better. - Food service prices in the hotel restaurant are high, can be at more logic level.

Experience: Ok let me be honest. This hotel should be the role model for all other 4 star hotels in the world. The experience you get here is equal to that of 5-stars. Right from the security to reception to housekeeping to dining - All are perfect. My special compliment to Farida, Marina and Mahmoud for providing exceptional guest service during my stay. My stay here was for 5 night, but, I extended to another 6 nights. Dining and Breakfast: The breakfast is super. Wide selection and very attentive staff. In other hotel, when the staff barely attend your table to offer a coffee or any other service, this hotel staff simply make sure you feel like home and pampered to max. Location Close to el tharir square, and just 200m from the bustling market where you name it and you find it. A heaven for someone who wants to shop, dine, walk and experience. Transportation: Easily available to and fro to hotel. Nile Corniche is just a 10-min waking distance. But you need some road crossing skills as the traffic might be dodgy. Parking: The hotel has parking space available underground. Didnt try but good for people who wish to drive and park their vehicle. Rooms: Rooms are small, but, clean. The houskeeping staff are really attentive and address to all your immediate needs. Good for couple who need best experience and value-for-money stay. Bar: I dont drink. But there are ample of space for guests to unwind and enjoy live music. Oh yes, i dont remember the singer voice, but, she is too good and her voice is no less than a celeb.

Just the wifi download speed, but, thats across all areas in Cairo. May be the telecom provider issue.

The location and security at the hotel were great. Breakfast had a good spread and room service was good too.

No views for this category of rooms. The room keys worked infrequently which made us return to the reception multiple times for reactivation. The worst thing was this manager who took my phone on the last day of my stay to tell me about Booking.com genius account but had gone ahead and given the hotel a 10 star rating and a comment 'Exceptional' without my knowledge. I came to know about this when I received an email from booking.com that my review has been approved. That was unethical and a gross invasion of the privacy of a guest. Now I understand now how they have a 9 star rating for a property that should be around 8. So please ignore such ratings from other reviews.

The hotel is conveniently located near downtown, within walking distance of many shops and attractions. When we first arrived, the area felt a bit chaotic—but that’s just Cairo. The city has its own rhythm and energy, which we quickly came to understand. While it’s common for people on the street to approach you asking for money, we never felt unsafe or at risk of being robbed. In fact, we felt comfortable walking around at any time of day, even late in the evening. Overall, it’s a great location, and the combination of price and service is excellent. One of the highlights of the hotel is definitely the breakfass The hotel’s breakfast buffet offers an impressive variety of options—everything from made-to-order omelets and fried eggs to a surprisingly wide selection of sushi, which I didn’t expect to see at breakfast. There’s also a generous assortment of cheeses, breads with different flavors, desserts, juices, and a range of coffee choices. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, always checking in to see if you need anything. I especially want to recognize two waitresses, Ayat and Donia, who were incredibly helpful—constantly offering coffee, water, and making sure everything was perfect. The breakfast service is very well organized, and I highly recommend it.

The facilities was good, lift was very spacious and modern, cleaning lady always happy and available to clean or provide top ups. Most staff were willing to listen and help and always available for service. We had a very comfortable stay.

Everything was good, we were allowed to keep our luggage for few hours, however bags were stored outside the hotel in the heat, It would have been perfect if we were told about it beforehand. Some guest might have things in their luggage that can get spoilt or melted which can be upsetting after a wonderful stay. Improvement for next time :-)

Centrally located near El Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum of Cairo the hotel is close to the Sadat metro station, restaurants and other businesses in the area. The staff were very friendly and quick to respond when we had an issue with our first room. The room itself was comfortable and clean. What really made this hotel stand out was their incredible buffet breakfast. The choices (ie. Egyptian, European, sushi, salads, fruits) were the best we've seen at any of the hotels we've stayed in before. Amazing vegan & vegetarian options as well.

We were originally assigned a room next door to another that was under construction so the noise was unbearable. The staff were very quick to change us to another location within the hotel once we brought this concern to their attention. This is not really a complaint as we left feeling impressed with their great customer service. The location is near one of the busiest sections of Cairo and therefore lots of traffic surrounding the hotel. If this is a concern then staying in the Zamalek neighborhood may be a better option.

Perfect position for people wishing to stay close to the centre and walk around the main points of interest. Friendly staff, good quality hotel restaurant. After 2 changes, I got finally a quiter room, as the previous 2 ones had not insonorized windows and I couldn't sleep at night, due to the no-stop traffic noise.

My CREDIT CARD has been BLOCKED, and still is after 1 week I left Cairo, for about Euro 300- as security. I strongly CLAIM MY MONEY BACK AT ONCE, as the reception staff stated that I'll get the money back "maybe in 3-4 weeks", which is NOT ACCEPTABLE!! They have anyway all the details in case of damages, so I can't understand this negative bad policy, damaging the hotel image.

We had a large suite overlooking Tharir square and partially the Nile. Steigenberger is right next to the Egyptian museum, which is a fantastic place to visit and walking distance to bars and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent and the pool area, even though it is on the small side, was great. The staff was extremely kind and helpful.

The light situation in the room needs to be improved. It's either too bright or too dark. The lobby could benefit from a redesign. It's not a place you want to hang out in. The restaurant provides uninspired international fair, which is a shame in a city that has so much to offer.

Helpful front desk personal. Good food and nice Restaurant. Close to the museum and river. Room service very cheap. I did get a bithday cake. Fantastic and unexpected.

Price for breakfast and buffet for dinner is too high.
