My partner and I stayed here for a week whilst visiting Albania for the first time. The hotel is in a great location and the staff are wonderful. They helped with all requests and questions and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are clean and tidy and also very modern for such an old building. The breakfast was perfectly adequate for the size of the hotel. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful stay in Durres.

I found the different room types and their descriptions were not entirely accurate on the booking website - photos didn't match and also a juliet balcony is very different from a balcony you can sit on.

We stayed at Hotel KLOEST in July as a couple and what a fantastic place to stay is! We have never felt so welcome in a hotel, the staff was always attentive, polite, and professional. At the less busy moments of the day, we even had some nice conversations with them. The breakfast service was delicious and with a great variety considering the small restaurant. The rooms well equipped and super clean, to the high standards of any fancy hotel. Finally, location was great as it was near a small beach (less crowded than Durres beach) and near the sights and many restaurants and bars. In summary, this is easily the best experience we have had at a hotel and cannot recommend it enough.

One of the original hotels with lots of character, although the traditional interior details were modern replicas, but nicely done. The hotel is close to the promenade and the historic sites. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Breakfast was good although you had to ask for coffee rather than being greeted and offered it. Staff were helpful when you asked and they were helpful with our early arrival and when our taxi didn’t come. It was quiet from both external noise and other guests. Fluffy towels!

The ‘sea view’ and ‘balcony’ were a real disappointment - the ‘balcony’ was french doors opening to a Juliet balcony which you couldn’t go out on and the view was dominated by the air con units at the rear of a commercial property built in front, and the car park. Above all that you could glimpse the sea. The hotel has suffered from more modern developments being built between it and the sea. The view would probably be better from rooms higher up (we were on the first floor) so perhaps you could request that booking. The fridge door didn’t close properly so the fridge didn’t work properly.

Staff were amazing and really helpful with lots of great advice on Durres. Room was excellent though the position of the couch blocked the route to the balcony which was annoying. Bathroom has all accessories required for your stay. Breakfast was really varied and plenty of choice to suit all tastes. There is a small bar in the hotel with large TV. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Durres as it's 5 min walk from the beachfront with loads of restaurants on your doorstep. Great wee Irish bar just 5 mins away which served good beer and food.

Nothing, other than the access to the balcony but not a showstopper.

When we arrived we were offered an upgraded room, which we really appreciated. We had parked up the street as the hotel is on a one way street and we had gone beyond it before spotting the hotel. The owner happened to be at reception as we were booking in and got one of the staff to come with us to show us how to drive around and access the carpark, this was very kind of her.

We had no complaints whatsoever.

We loved everything about our stay at Hotel Kloest, from the great location to the breakfast and delicious cappuccinos every morning, to the great value for the cost. We even had a sea view from the charming Juliet balcony. But what makes it extra special is the friendly and caring staff. Every person we met at the hotel was simply wonderful. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Albania, which we definitely plan to return to!

Everything was fantastic.

Everything was just perfect! From the very moment we entered the hotel, we were greeted with a sincere smile, and the very nice, always polite and helpful receptionist Armando provided us with the highest level of service until the end of our stay. The rest of the staff, including the boss (I think) deserve a medal! The pure definition of friendliness and provision of accommodation services - many places could follow the example :) the location of the hotel could not be more perfect - the historical and tourist center of the city in one. Beaches are very close and the hotel is surrounded by the biggest historical must-sees in the area. Shops, bars, restaurants - everything right after crossing the doorstep :) Delicious pistachio ice cream in the cafe on the corner! perfectly clean rooms with daily service, beautiful, atmospheric and tasteful decor of the room and bathroom - as well as the rest of the entire facility, comfortable beds, pillows and life saving air conditioning. Delicious breakfasts! modest, but containing everything you need to start the day right, sweet, salty - whatever you want! delicious coffee (and sometimes even two :)) Staying in this hotel definitely added a lot of positives to our holidays, which were already amazing :)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by the staff. Not only were they attentive and accommodating, but the view from my room was really nice, adding an extra layer of magic to my stay. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a delightful experience with top-notch service in perfect localisation in Durres center.

Very friendly staff. They offered to re-park my car which I had to leave in a no-parking zone once any of the parking spaces became available again. The location is great and I had a nice view from the room. They really put some though into the room as it offered plenty of space to leave your luggage and stuff, despite it being a room limited in space.

The “private parking” advertised on booking.com is merely a parking spot right on the street. The street however is a dead end, so it is not super busy. However, there was a construction side right next to my car and I didn’t feel 100% comfortable with my car being there. In the end, everything was fine though.

It's my second time at this hotel and every time it gets better and better. Lovely looking rooms great ambiance and superb service. I wanted to give a special thanks to the manager/ owner of the hotel that went above and beyond to make my accommodation very enjoyable. Keep the good work and this hotel will be in the Guinness book of records.
