During our stay at Hotel Fantasy in Gjirokaster, we had a truly wonderful experience. The view from the hotel was simply amazing, offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, always ready to assist with any requests or questions we had. One of the highlights of the hotel was its fantastic location. We found that all the must-visit attractions were within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. The fact that the hotel was situated in the bazaar neighborhood added to its charm and provided a unique cultural experience. Our room was neat and comfortable, allowing us to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. The balcony with its mountain view was a delightful addition, providing us with a tranquil spot to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. In summary, our stay at Hotel Fantasy was a memorable one. The amazing view, helpful staff, great location, and comfortable room with a balcony made our time in Gjirokaster truly special. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and enjoyable stay in the area.

If you come by car, don’t miss the sign with Hotel Fantasy when you’re getting close, if you miss the sign and take an alternative road, there’s a high chance of taking some very steep and narrow roads that lead to a dead end. Google Maps does not provide the correct route for the last minutes of the drive. Also there is no parking facility, however the neighboring hotel Kodra has parking which you can use for 5 euro a day. Call the hotel so they open the gate.

Figuring out how to get there was very tricky in a rental vehicle. Google maps was not accurate in how to drive up to this old town with narrow, cobblestone streets- many of which are pedestrian only streets. We found ourselves in a very tricky hairpin turn and almost scratched a rental car. Clear directions on what streets to take to get to the hotel and drop off luggage would have been very helpful. I will say that the staff there was so helpful & kind when we couldn’t find our way. They wanted to come meet us and direct us in where to go- thank you!!

Hotel Fantasy is really a paradise fantasy. Fantastic location on a hill with astonishing city and mountain views. Breathtaking! And outstanding respectfull and polite and friendly staff. Very clean room. Thanks for the upgrade to a room with balcony. Excellent wifi. Great shower. Restaurant and bar terrace. They serve good mojito's and ice coffee. Also a lot of restaurants and bars around the corner. Only 15 minutes walking up to the castle.They arranged a friendly taxi driver, Najib, to bring me to Sarande for € 50. It really was the best location and hotel of my journey of 2 weeks in Albania!! I am very enthouastic about my stay.

It was absolutely perfect. One very very very small detail: here I had to pay for my cappuccino at breakfast. Not in all the other hotels in Albania.

This was a hotel that I didn't want to leave. We actually stayed one extra night. The hotel was up on the hill in the middle of the old city, a lot of climbing (if you didn't come by car) but definitely worth it. Our room was upgraded and had a beautiful view over the old city and from the restaurant you could see the snow covered (at least in the morning) mountains. It was November so the weather was cool in the mornings. Breakfast was overwhelming filling up the whole table. Delicious croissants etc. Staff was very friendly, easy going in an Albanian way. We were really sorry to have to continue our journey after three perfect days in this hotel (and city of Gjirokaster).

Unfortunately we couldn't exchange money in the reception - Bankomat downtown charged 8 euros for each transaction, very expensive! Stylish shower (this quadrangle design is now in many hotels in Europe) is so unpractical, gets the whole bathroom wet!

The location of the hotel is really good, we are already in the center of Gjirokaster and you are 3 minutes to the bazaar, the view of the room is the highlight of the hotel, you can see everything under the city to the mountains, the staff was really helpful and polite.

To arrive the car was difficult, we used Google Maps and we got lost and had difficulties arriving at the hotel, besides that when we went to sleep we could hear the musics from the bars close.

This was an amazing hotel to stay at in gjirokaster. The views from the rooms are impeccable and you’re a 1 minute walk from the city’s main attractions. The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was perfection and had huge portions. I would recommend this place to anyone.

One downside to note that is not the fault of the hotel - you have to park in a paid lot (€6 for 24hr) that’s a ~6 minute uphill walk on cobblestone. They send someone to help you with some of your bags but note that you will have to carry some stuff up. It’s a minor inconvenience that the rest of the stay more than makes up for. The shower in the suite was a little strange (rainfall shower head but you stand in a tub) but we made do. The glass didn’t tint for us so you could technically see through into the bathroom but not a big deal.

The young man in the reception desk was exceptional! Very kind and helpful. He upgraded our room and he went above and beyond to reach me when I left the hotel without my phone. The breakfast was amazing, and of course the location is perfect. Although there is no parking space in the bazar, there's an underground parking lot very close to the hotel, that charges you about 4 euros for 24h a stay. I believe I'll try to book a room in this hotel every time I visit Gjirokaster from now on!

EVERYTHING! Excellent location and facilities. All was clean and tidy. The staff deserve a separate reference as it was by far the best part of the hotel. When we visited, there were construction works in some streets in the city centre so the parking spots were a bit further from the hotel. The staff members came with us to the car and carried all of our bags back to the hotel, which is something they were not obliged to do. They were very friendly and always helpful. Simply outstanding!

Breakfast was brought to you by the staff and was standardised, which included some types of food we don’t appreciate. In my opinion, it would be best to have something like a self-service buffet, since this would mean being able to choose what to eat and less food going to waste.

The location and the facilities in this hotel are wonderful! It was our second time staying in this hotel. (We stayed there in last December as well). On both of our visits, we got a full view of the castle and the city, which we loved. This time we loved that the hotel matched the energy of the city with coffee and drinks on the terrace, a cultural night with traditional dancers and singers. Breakfasts at this hotel are a dream! Healthy and locally produced food with a traditional touch. The service is kind and friendly,

I really wish we could have stayed more.
