From the moment I stepped into this hotel, I knew I had made the perfect choice! Nestled in the heart of the “City of Stone,” The room was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, blending traditional Gjirokastrian style with modern comforts. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and every detail, from the high-quality linens to the ambient lighting, was thoughtfully designed to create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was another highlight! Being served traditional local delicacies like freshly, products made for a delightful start to the day. The staff was outstanding – always smiling, attentive, and ready to assist with anything. Their recommendations for local attractions and activities were spot-on and made our trip even more enjoyable! The location was ideal for exploring the city – close to all major landmarks yet tucked away enough to provide peace and quiet. If you’re planning a trip to Gjirokastër, this hotel is the perfect choice for an authentic and relaxing experience. I will definitely be coming back!

The view from the breakfast room was stunning, and the breakfast was very nice with plenty of variety. The Managers of this beautiful old/modern hotel were helpful and friendly, and the rooms were beautiful with feature stone finishes. The Hotel is a "good" walk into the Old Town, but don't let that deter you as my husband and I did it several times and we coped, we are 70!!

Everything! It's a beautiful building situated in the heart of the historic old town. Tastefully renovated with modern equipments and classic traditional touches. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and willing to help with everything. Spacious, cosy, warm room with a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean beddings and bathroom. Breakfast is delicious, plenty and everything fresh. Will definitely be back and I recommend this place to everyone who wants to get e real taste of Gjirokaster.

My partner and I originally booked 1 night to hike a bit around the town, but we loved this charming hotel so much that we decided to stay for another night. Luckily, the staff arranged this for us and we could even stay in our 'own' room, even though it wasn't vacant. The location is perfect and brings a beautiful sight over the valley. Even though it's only a 5 minute walk to the old bazaar, you don't hear anything from the bars and restaurants, so super central but no noise disturbance. The only thing that wakes you up is a very sophisticated Albanian rooster from the other side of town, but that's the charm :). Luckily, after waking up you can enjoy a delicious breakfast on the cozy terrace. The rooms and hotel overall were very clean and the staff is doing their outmost best to provide the best experience. We have recommended this hotel to our friends who are visiting Albania next month.

The staff was the nicest and most attentive I have yet experienced. They carried our luggage all the way up to the hotel because there were only steps, no ramps. They also parked our car because the parking situation is a bit difficult there. The receptionist gave us inspiration on what to do in the city and also recommended the free walking tour to us, which was great. The room was very pretty and smelled really nice the first time we entered, and it was cleaned every day. Breakfast was amazing, they prepared it freshly for us and served it to the table. The fried eggs were spot on. It was also nice to sit on the terrace while having good coffee. The way to the city center was a bit of a climb but with the shortcut the staff showed us it was manageable.

The bed was very close to the floor, so it might not be suitable for people who have troubles with getting up (apart from the stairs and no elevator available). Sound isolation could be better, every time someone took a shower we could hear the water flowing very loudly. So maybe think about bringing ear protection.

We spent 3 days in Gjirokaster and enjoyed our stay at Stone Sky. It’s a new hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is served cooked and the scrambled eggs are delicious. With bread, fruits and a local dish with honey which was very nice. Parking is provided offsite and you have to leave your key at reception so they can move the car as needed. You can access it anytime you want.

The hotel is up a steep slope and there are lots of steps to climb that you should be aware of. But all this means you get a great view ! There’s a back path to the castle and old town but still abit of a walk.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful and went out of their way to help us - especially since we got our car stuck up hill in the wrong location. They came up and took care of it and even hauled our carryons from up the hill. The breakfast was beyond our expectations. Very abundant and delicious, and the patio has charming views. It is well located since it’s only a 5 minute walk from the Old Town and not noisy. The room was clean and nice.

Our only bad experience was we could not sleep well at night since we all felt itchy. I believe it must be some mosquito or bug. I checked the beds and the mattresses seemed brand new, they were clean as were the sheets so they were definitely not bed bugs. The windows were open when we arrived so it must have been some mosquito or bug. Also when arriving, We missed the sign and since we had no connection or wifi then we kept going uphill and should have stopped at the entrance since we kept driving up a super steep hill and it was a bit scary. They had told us they would help us so it eas not the hotel’s fault but outs. Just a warning to those driving. Make sure you do not honup the hill all the way up.

The rooms are beautifully designed and were very comfortable for our family of four. Breakfast was great and enjoying it on the sunny terrace with beautiful views made it a really nice experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was still closed in April. When we did bring some takeaway food back one night however the staff set the table on the terrace and provided plates and cutlery which was really appreciated and more than we expected. We liked the locations which is just a few minutes walk away from the old town but far enough away from the crowds and noise. Overall nothing negative to point out and a hotel that can be fully recommended.

You can in general not avoid stairs and hills in Gjirokaster. That also goes for this hotel and you will need to climb stairs if you stay here. Just worth keeping in mind.

An amazing property with a beautiful terrace garden and views. The property has lots of steps so if one has mobility issues this might not be the best option. The staff is very helpful and accomodating.We were helped by the staff to carry our luggage upstairs and also they helped park our car for us. The room itself is gorgeous with beautiful decor, lovely views and with all the important basic facilities including a kettle in the room. There is a shortcut to the old town bazaar, around a 10 min walk, it is a slight uphill but very much manageable. The breakfast is a traditional Albania breakfast. Overall an amazing stay.

We were on a Balkan road trip and Argyrokastro was our first stop in Albania, right over the Greek border, so we really didn't know what to expect. We booked the hotel because of the proximity to the old town and the castle and were positively surprised by the quality of the room, the friendliness and the helpfulness of the staff from the moment we arrived. We stayed just for a night, in the morning we had breakfast, which was plenty, tasty, freshly prepared and served with care.
