Everything about our stay was great. The location suited us, the price was reasonable. The staff were friendly. Since there's a great number of grey nomads these days, I suggest a rail next to the toilet would be a good idea. My sister in law has a couple of health issues, and she needed to buy a non slip thing for the shower. Perhaps let people know such a thing is available if needed? Thank you. We enjoyed our stay. As older "A groupers" this will probably be our last trip "home". We take good memories with us, and would have no hesitation in recommending Desert Sands to other travellers

The property mgr was really nice and was very helpful. Explained where everything was including where to get food and drink. Had a small problem with the room. Was told the reason for this and when I came back from dinner, the problem was no more. The small pool came in very handy after a 6 hour drive from SA and was at a nice temperature. Go to the workers club for $6.20 schooners all day long. Food places were all very similar. I went to the Sturt club which had a nice butter chicken special with naan bread for $20. Breakfast the next morning was at a local cafe

Was in an upgraded room which meant I was on the ground floor. Nice not to have to climb stairs. Was told I have Foxtel but 3 lousy channels is not Foxtel. Admittedly I was told the internet service is bad in broken hill which is why they are changing to Starlink

The staff went above and beyond, the yellow lounge in my room just oozed comfort and style. When I returned with the tow-truck after an accident the staff helped me beyond with assistance to find out where to go for what I needed. The room really was comforting. The pool looked cool and friendly. There were pets in other rooms so they'd have pet friendly and pet free rooms. Inexpensive laundry. Walking distance to most things in town. Definitely coming back here.

The bathroom appeared recently updated and clean.

The TV reception was very pixolated and jumpy at times. Found Foxtel but there was no sports channel on our set. The hoon who raced around the streets on Sat night for over an hour was a nuisance but not your fault. However some early morning drivers seem to think that they had to idle their vehicles for 2-3 minutes at 6am before going was a pain in the ears.

It’s in town. Very clean and tidy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Shower and air conditioning worked well so we are good! There’s a big park close by, we took our dog there for walks. It’s pet friendly! Convenient location and close to petrol station, gym, shops, cafe and supermarkets. Very happy to stay there again. BTW, the Pro Hart gallery is pet friendly too!

Elissa was so wonderful and helpful for our stay! From traveling with our cat, to late check in, to helping us out when we nearly ran out of petrol on the road, she was amazing. The other staff were also very helpful when I accidentally locked us out the next morning. The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and the shower had good pressure and heat.

First night, there was loud swearing and dirty talking by some neighbours, but after 1 hour it was over, then early morning next day some neighbours above, were shouting to others to get up, someone told them to be a little quiet and they got very loud and nasty against that person, but it did not matter to me, I was in my car on my way to Mutawintji National Park for a wonderful day, then the rest of the 2 nights all was good, except that there was a blackout in Broken Hill for many hours. Let me add, it is a good place to stay, I will recommend it, thank you.

The room had everything you needed, including crockery and cutlery, a toaster and kettle etc, with plentiful supplies. The staff were very kind, staying open late to ensure we could collect our key and check-in.

On arriving, our key was ready for collection with no hassle. Walked into our room where air conditioning was on which was 👌. Spent 2 days here. Walking distance to the main street which was a bonus. .

Great location, close to the town. Room was great and the shower had great pressure.

The bed was a little hard and the bottom sheet had a tiny tear in it, however, it was clean and crisp.
