our host was absolutely amazing. Maddies is quiet. Whisper quiet. The rooms are well appointed and the bathroom was huge. I have a big vintage bath in my art deco apartment and the renovated bath at @maddies_of_bolwarra was HUGE! . The room had two beds plus a futon which would have been perfect for larger families. Also travelling with my registered assistance dogs was not a problem. Everything was so easy! . The gardens are amazing! You could sit out the front or back and just watch the sunset or sunrise and listen to birds and watch the wildlife. . I couldn’t finish this review without declaring the continental breakfast was like NOTHING, I have had at any Australian BnB. There was eggs, cold meats, cheese, avocado, smoked salmon, fresh bread, cereals and a fruit platter that no one could finish! This was every morning. Plus the coffee and tea facilities.

The house is an old renovated country homestead and it’s full of charm! If you like no character and white, please move on! But if you feel at home in a grand old house, this is the stay for you!!!

The perfect, relaxing getaway made possible by Alison, who went out of her way to make sure our stay would be the best! Every detail was there. The room was so comfortable, lovely grounds to wander around with settings to enjoy the scenery and serenity. Could it get better, wait until breakfast - what a way to start the day. Maddies is also handy to the attractions of the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. Thanks Alison for your making us feel so welcomed.

Our stay was exceptional! I love supporting small businesses and this one is now my favourite getaway spot. Thanks to Allison -our wonderful host, who accommodated us last minute. Whilst watching the horses grazing in the far fields, we just didn't want to get going! The room had lovely Victorian style decor which we adored and everything we needed plus more. Plenty of facilities and the garden had a lovely feel to it with beautiful flowers and features. We were absolutely stuffed full after a hearty breakfast, Maddie's of Bolwarra place is fit for a king! (queen)

Excellent breakfast, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Our host Ms Alison was a very caring person, she made our stay, very warm & comfortable. Looking forward to going back to this lovely place during our future visit to Hunter valley

Everything was well with our stay. Good rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, in all it was a pleasant holiday. The location was also superb, A big THANKS to Ms.Alison for her excellent hospitality

Location, ambiance, friendly staff. What a pleasure to have somebody to talk to you on arrival. No hint of a suggestion that anything later than 3pm would require access to a key safe! Alison is knowledgeable about the area from walks to the best way to get to Sydney without spending an extra hour on the motorway. A great place to stop and have time to smell the roses.

Alison and her team cooked such a wonderful breakfast (which was way more than the continental breakfast we had been led to expect). We loved it, and our dog thought he was in Earth Heaven. Very relaxed time, very peaceful and Alison is full of life and humanity. The weather was extremely hot. The air conditioner combined with the ceiling fan worked perfectly.

Everything was great. Our only suggestion is for a bowl of water to please be placed on the verandah for visiting dogs.

This is a beautiful maintained building with loads of character. Lovely furnishings, great bath and facilities. relaxing surrounds and friendly staff. I had to do some work while there and the wifi etc were reliable. Nice breakfast

Everything was beautiful, I personally would like small touches like to be able to make a cup of tea in my room in the morning without getting dressed and going into the dining room, but there were no facilites. It is very peaceful setting in the main house suites and noise carries well with the floorboards and high ceilings so young families or those wanting a more boisterous time may wish to consider the more cabin oriented facilities

The host Alison was very welcoming and called to check our arrival. The rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. Lovely old house carefully restored with modern bathrooms and other amenities. Separate seating areas with great pleasant views of the garden. Very quiet and private. Was travelling with my elderly mother so Alison selected rooms in the same wing of the house for convenience.

I loved it all. Great location for a family function in Lorn.

A beautiful little gem of a place - room was lovely and cosy and bed was very comfortable - we are at the little Thai restaurant across the way after perusing the town (a short drive away). Parking was on site. Our host created an absolutely delicious and healthy cooked breakfast with fresh local produce - highly recommend a stay, we will be back!
