Everything about the place. The exceptional cleanliness of the room, bathroom and kitchen. The cutlery, glasses, etc, was clean and in excellent condition. The bedding was comfortable and very clean. The site was so quiet and tidy all around. Gardens well kept. The saltwater pool was a real welcome after a trip up on my motorbike. I was able to park right outside the room. The landlady was very friendly and attentive. The town site was a short walk away to cafes and shops. I wandered around the township a bit to check out some of its history. Certainly a lovely spot for an overnighter or a few days chilling out.

This is the best accommodation we stayed in on our recent trip. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well appointed and with fantastic little extras. It’s great to have a kitchenette with plates and washing up facilities. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is obvious care around how this motor inn is presented. Could not recommend it more highly. Great value for money.

The couple who run the motel were marvellous! Sorry it’s taken so long for me to do the review! They were helpful from the get go, showed us our room which was much larger than expected. Had everything you need to stay comfortably for many days so was a pity we were only there for the 1. Bathroom was modern and clean. Bed was comfy and large. Plenty of room for 2 people. We had Thai from in town and it is the best Thai food I have ever eaten! Was a very enjoyable experience all up.

The internet was quite slow but to be honest we found that in every surrounding town. Not their fault at all

Perfect Location. Very close to CBD and restaurant right beside the motel. Even though it's on a main road, motel room was very quiet and no road noise at all. Block out curtains and comfy bed ensured a great nights sleep. Extremely clean and well organised, even the cultery drawer! Will definitely book again next time we are in the Stanthorpe area.

Room was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Is only a couple minute walk from the park in the centre of town and the big thermometer. We traveled out for the snowflake festival and received a call from the motor in while we were on the way to tell us its okay if were running late, they will leave the keys in the room and the heater on for us.

Nothing bad to say about the place at all.

I loved it had a swimming pool & they even supplied towels for the pool bonus as we were there in summer and was hot , had a comfortable 2 seater to be able to watch TV when needed & enjoy a wine also & we could walk to Anna’s restaurant which was beside our Motel. This Motel thought of everything for our stay.

I prefer handheld showers not fixed to the wall.

Great friendly place to stay...Room is very functional, clean, and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate. Easy walk to the parks with plenty of walks and birdlife. Easy 5 minute walk into town that has numerous interesting stores and eateries. The rsl and pubs have great atmosphere and food. Stanthorpe is definitely a hidden gem, and we will definitely return to Stannum Lodge in the future.

There's nothing to dislike.....

Enjoyed our little staycation very much. Our room was impeccably clean, every need was catered for right down to the cheese knife and nibbles platters! A short stroll into a very friendly town via pretty riverside parklands was as enjoyable as a dip in the swimming pool and the delicious dinner at the nearby pub. Window shopping during the day and a drive to the nearby national parks made for a relaxing short stay.

Spacious, clean rooms. Well equipped with a kitchenette, plenty of bench space and storage options. Despite being an older place, it has been well maintained, has comfy beds and is quiet with both sheer and blackout curtains and is very close to the centre of town. Only walking distance to the park which was great for an evening or morning walk. We really loved our stay (5 of us in 3 rooms), and the staff were lovely and happy to recommend things happening in the area. Absolutely would stay again!

Kate, the manager (owner?), kindly offered flexibility when I needed to change my booking date and was keen to ensure that all necessities were supplied for a comfortable overnight stay. She also keeps the rooms and surroundings in immaculate condition - my room was spotless! Unlike some motels, this location offered sufficient driving/parking space so negotiating a way around other guests' vehicles wasn't a problem.

The price per night is slightly higher than other motels that are in slightly closer walking distance to the centre of town (a distance of little less than 1km vs a distance of 500m or less so probably not a big deal for most people). But this location does offer a pool, which would likely be worth the $20 or so extra per night if staying for a longer period in hot weather. I didn't consider this a significant 'dislike', just something to be aware of.
