The Royal Hotel has undergone major renovations a few years ago and is beautifully restored. The bar had a fire that was cosy and warm. The two restaurants meals were delicious and we ate there the 3 nights we stayed in the motel. The motel is an older style of accommodation but has been updated and decorated with pleasing colours and furnishings. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom has been modernised. The staff were all friendly and helpful and gave exceptional restaurant service. We stayed at the Royal Motel to attend the Celtic Festival at Glen Innes so the location sutied us well with a drive to the Celtic Festival. I should mention that the rooms are serviced daily and there is a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We will stay here again.

Central location, very helpful staff (thanks Sharon and Richard). Clean and comfortable room (we did not stay at the main building, but would love to next time and will ring up beforehand). Plenty of power points. I was able to use my CPAP machine and charge batteries / devices. Lovely hot shower. After helpful suggestions from Sharon for breakfast / brunch at one of the local café, we noticed one of our tyres was flat. One too many pot holes via Bucketts Way / Thunderbolt Way. Richard helped contact a local tyre guy, and even helped change to suing the space saver tyre so we could make our way there before they closed for the day. Much appreciate the help. Other staff also gave us a mobile tyre guy's number in case we needed it.

The bathroom fan was a little noisy. I could hear our neighbour snore (but then they would probably hear me also).

The Royal is not on the main street through town so traffic noise was non-existent. We stayed on a Thursday night and couldn't hear anything at all. Although the room was small it was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom looked recently renovated and was spotless. Toiletries were included in the cupboard under the sink (which we didn't find until were leaving). They have a restaurant which serves typical pub meals in the evenings, but not breakfast, although the rooms have a toaster and kettle so you could manage breakfast at a pinch. The bed was comfortable. They have better rooms in the main hotel building if you want to pay more but these motel rooms located at the back of the hotel property are perfectly acceptable for a night or two. Car parking is right outside your room - very convenient. Secure WiFi is also free if you need it. The large screen TV worked perfectly. We would stay here again.

Location is great as it is just off the New England Hwy in the centre of town so no traffic noise especially from transports - you have a choice of well organised/clean and modern motel rooms or lovely refurbished rooms in the main hotel (we've stayed in both) - As we were arriving late they suggested we order our dinner over the phone as the kitchen would be closing, so that we had a lovely hot meal on arrival in the bar. Location is great as a very short stroll to the main street and all the facilities.

Sorry - it is an ideal overnighter for us in our travels.

This majestic art deco hotel is on High Street in CBD of Tenterfield but it is on a side road so quiet. The motel section around the back is circa 1960’s. There is space for a real benefit of having a garden or pool for the guests. Very clean and professionally run. Impressively for a country town. Would have loved a room in the hotel itself.

As stated the motel rooms are Built in 1960’s and the design doesn’t allow for any opened windows and fresh air in rooms. I would immediately replace small top windows as wind out flyscreened windows. New bathroom updates are lovely.

Great location right across from Tenterfield Saddler, the Hotel has been beautifully restored to its former glory. The owners have done a fantastic job & the bar Menu was great/ the food was delicious! My Salmon was cooked perfectly as were the Vegetables. The Hotel also has a Dining Room which I would definitely try next time. As we only stayed overnight we opted for a Motel Room which was a bit dated but was more than adequate. The Hostess (Owner?) offered to upgrade us to an upstairs fully restored room in the Hotel, which would have been great if we had a longer stay, maybe next time….

Room was clean and comfortable. Good lighting in all areas. Table and chairs to dine at but also 2 lounge chairs, sooo comfortable, see photo. Parking directly in front of room, carport with side panels for privacy. Good extra parking spaces Well equipped kitchenette with microwave. Fresh milk supplied. Large bathroom. Good shower water flow. Attached pub to hotel had beautiful charm with a restaurant. Good selection of meals, Lovely friendly staff. Interactive. Good supply of tourist information and guides/maps for those who want paper form

You cant see the motel rooms from the street. Signage is there, but smallish Fillet steak was a bit dry.

The staff: welcomed and orientated to the motel / hotel. Jug milk and homemade Anzac biscuit offered on arrival. When I mentioned the beautiful heritage hotel building which houses reception and the dining rooms, I was given a short tour and history of the building, before being shown the dining room and the way to get to my accommodation. I was also offered a room in the recently renovated upstairs part of the building instead of the room I booked. This would have been amazing but I prefer ground floor. The motel is behind the hotel. This building looks more mid-century but has been nicely maintained with individual car ports with probably screens at each door. Terrazzo step into the small it comfortable room with kitchenette and dining table. Ample power points, especially around bed. The bathrooms are fully renovated and beautiful. Attention to detail in everything. Welcome pack included instructions for air con, wifi, etc and included the menu for the dining room at the hotel. It also included the other dining and take-away options in town as well as a list of the local cafes for your morning coffee or breakfast. This was in the original heritage part of the hotel. Restored lovingly.

We felt very welcome when we arrived at Royal Hotel Tenterfield, check in was easy and friendly. Sharon gave us fresh milk and homemade biscuits, what a nice touch. Large clean cups and clean glasses all are cleaned in the dishwasher. (dirty kitchen ware is a pet hate of mine in accommodation) Our room was clean and comfortable and very quiet as we were not on the main road. Motel Tenterfield is a beautifully and lovingly restored property. Fabulous and generous meals are available at the bar area or the Restuarant.

I like that the Motel is close to sightseeing places, shops, cafes, and restaurants. The staff are nice and friendly. The motel itself is spotless. It has basic appliances and furniture. The beds are comfortable, and extra blankets are available in case needed. Upon arrival, we were given a small jar of fresh milk and cookies. There's a voucher to get a free doughnut from Bad Manners Cafe, which I enjoyed eating with a great tasting coffee.

The air-conditioning was a little noisy at night. I had to turn it off to be able to go to sleep well. Anyway the temperature was nice. The lighting outside was a bit bright at night. The blackout curtain could have been close to the window to block the light completely. Overall, it's good, and we'll be back next time.
