While my stay at The Old Majestic Lion was outstanding, a few minor things stood out. The bed was comfortable but not flawless, though this is typical for most hotels. The electric blanket in our room didn’t work, but it was the only malfunction we encountered. Overall, these did not detract from an excellent experience.

Staff were super friendly and courteous. Pleasantly surprised to have the room serviced on Christmas Day. We had the two bedroom apartment that contained a spacious kitchen and living area. The bedrooms had more storage than expected which was excellent. Deliberately booked a room with a washing machine and dryer - efficient and suited our needs. Right next door to the Old Lion Pub and Bistro with great meals all day. Undercover parking available. Located right near the Adelaide Botanical Gardens and several restaurants on Melbourne Street.

For people who may have mobility issues, there are no elevators. Fortunately, our room was on the first floor, but the amount of stairs could be difficult for some. Staff offered to carry luggage to our room if necessary.

The Old Lion Apartment location is very ideal: close to the city, but away from the hustle and bustle of it. There were plenty of places to eat and within walking distance of parks and supermarket.

Some staff were very accommodating, however, I found some staff were a bit dismissive of customer requests. I ordered Uber eats and requested staff to notify me when it arrives at reception. I got a very snap-ish and quite irritated response of "you have get it from reception yourself as we won't deliver it to your room". It was quite rude and off-putting.

Very comfortable & quiet. Free city connection bus right outside! A food mart store just up the road for grocery items. An excellent pizza restaurant plus the oyster bar pub we could walk to. Parking in the building or across the road in pay display ($15 a night). The kitchen facilities were excellent. Bathroom, washing machine & dryer. Air con. Huge king bed. The sofa bed in the lounge was super comfy & would fit two adults easy. One adult had lots of room! We pushed the two king singles together which made lots of room for our giant suitcases to be open on the floor for repacking. Wardrobes with hangers. Ironing board & an excellent hair dryer. Will book again for sure.

Clean, comfortable and well located.

Extremely poor internet for a room of this price. Not only is it very slow, but it’s an unsecured network. Apple devices will often not connect for that reason. And do you really want to be using an unsecured network even if/when your devices do connect? Secondly, there is no attempt whatsoever to separate recyclables, green waste & rubbish. All in the rubbish bin. That’s no longer acceptable.

The apartment was well laid out. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Car park was very convenient. Lovely fluffy towels. Having a full size fridge, rather than a bar fridge was fabulous. Washing machine worked a treat and the complimentary laundry powder was much appreciated. The soap, shampoo & conditioner and lotion were great with a lovely scent. And the aircon was bliss as we had some very, very hot days during our stay. Helpful kind staff.

Not things I didn’t like - just some feedback. The bowls in the kitchen are the flat wide type used for pasta, which are not great for breakfast cereal. So it might be good to provide cereal bowls too. And providing a pair of scissors in the kitchen would be fabulous too.

Everything was well supplied. Heaps of detergent for washing and washing machine. The towels were replaced every day except weekends which was lovely. The staff were very helpful and patient with my elderly parents and the cleaning staff always said hello and were super friendly.

the bed was really uncomfortable - could tell it was cheap. I went and purchased a mattress topper to use for my stay.

Excellent location for coffee and meals at nearby cafes and restaurants - lot of choice. Bus stops very close including the free city bus. Full kitchen in the apartment but no supermarket nearby, only a convenience store with the basics. Lots of space, laundry was part of a large bathroom and proved very convenient. Large outdoor patio.

Some noise from other apartments. Outdoor patio had not been swept clean.

Our beds were very comfortable. The location of our rooms separate to the bathroom and the living area was excellent. Very spacious apartment which had an upmarket home feel. I thought I would love to live in something like that long term. It was walking distance to the zoo and botanical gardens and close to public transport. Awesome thriving upmarket pub next door with excellent food so it was easy to get food when we wanted. Great service and drinks too.

Only issue was noise on some occasions. One night people arrived after midnight and decided to all have each of them about a 40 minute shower each

Fantastic place to stay. Great location and just down the road from a pub which served great food and cold beverages. The room was great, up four flights if you are parked in the garage so if you have alot of luggage, keep that in mind. The area itself is lovely and busy with plenty of parkland close by if you like a walk. Walking distance to the Adelaide Oval as well and near the Torrens as well. Very nice place to stay.
