The room and view was great! The buffet breakfast was delicious, we looked forward to it every morning.

The pool was closed for renovations and no compensation was offered even though.

Beautiful view over Adelaide city. Hotel is on beachfront, cross one small road and youre on the beach. Very nearby lots of restaurants and walking distance to Coles too. Hotel offers an extra towel upon request for beach activities too. Minifridge in room. Other guests at the hotel seemed pretty friendly when you share the lift together.

The lounge reception area is quite dark and needs more light in there - it doesnt feel super inviting, but has a more vintage appeal I suppose. No complimentary snacks provided to room nor any complimentary tea comes with the room. Any food you take from the minifridge in your room gets deducted from a deposit amount you pay when you check in (seems a bit stingey). Also I didnt know that the pool was shut for refurbishment until after I had booked and paid online to stay at this hotel.

Our second stay here. We love the convenience of being so close to the beach and a shopping strip. All the staff are lovely. Alot of reviews say the hotel is looking old, however I find that part of the charm, kind of 20s art Deco. Enjoy the buffet breakfast!

The furniture in the room requires updating but is decent. We did have a buffet breakfast that we booked at front desk the night before the actual day, however, no table had been reserved for five people when we arrived for breakfast at 9 am. This meant that we had to ask for a table to be placed together so we could fit 5 people and was not ideal. Staff in the breakfast area dropped plates on the floor (noisy and bustling) and sectioned off the covered outdoor area before breakfast closure time of 10:30 am with a movable balustrade that made it difficult to manoeuvre around when coming and going from our table to access the buffet - safety issue for those using area.

This grand hotel is situated in the most perfect location opposite the beautiful beach. Everything is at your doorstep from cafes, restaurants & bars to waterpark, trams to Adelaide, the airport, shopping & more. Staff were polite & smiling & went the extra mile to assist. Rooms were spacious & super clean. Highly recommend so much so we shall return as there is so much to explore in & around Glenelg.

They say you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression & it’s true, so from the main entrance there is a wow factor to this hotel, upon entry it looks a little tired & in my humble opinion requires a little spruce up. All in all it is a lovely hotel made better by welcoming staff.

The Stamford Grand is a very iconic, beautifully decorated hotel which my partner and I were very keen to return to after almost 30 years. We booked an ocean view room on the 10th floor, and were thoroughly pleased with its view, facilities, and comfort. Management gifted us a bottle of Aussie sparkling wine to welcome us (I'd mentioned it was a combo birthday and 30th anniversary trip for us). The staff were very pleasant, courteous, and sought to assist us every way they could with baggage, directions, info etc. The breakfast buffets were awesome! (Hint: If you book with brekky included, it ends up being cheaper overall than paying for brekkies separately...at least in our booking). If you go "Green" with your house-keeping needs, you also pick up $10 credit / day to use on food and drinks (min two day stay). Lastly, Glenelg's food scene has picked up and evolved IMMENSELY over the years, with very high quality enjoyable food of all types literally across the road on Jetty St, or a walk up the road to discover cuisine of many types and prices.

The ONLY disappointment we had, was that the cocktail lounge was closed on Monday and Tuesdays, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy that (was closed on Sat night for a private function).

Staff were very helpful and pleasant.The location of the hotel is ideal......perfect for the beach or the Tram to the City.The view was average from our room 415.Breakfast was excellent.

Toilet Seat would not stay up whilst i urinated .More bench space to place our cases on would help whilst unpacking.The shower was over the bath and quite dangerous for older members of residents.A Grab Rail would be most desirable to reduce this problem which is a priority for older/unsteady adults.Instructions re the parking station were not clear,and caused some concern until I contacted the reception from the pay station.

Great location right on the beach and close to many cafes, restaurants and shops. Some nice little touches like for every day you opted out of getting your room serviced you received a $10 food & beverage credit - great incentive! Hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful. Room was well equipped with amenities, air conditioning was so good, especially when the sun was streaming into the room in the afternoons! Great place to watch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve! Overall a very good place to stay, just a few wee things that could’ve been better.

The swimming pool area needs more sun loungers, there were only about 3 of them and they were often in use. Plenty of space for them, would be much nicer than having to lie on the hard concrete! Whilst it was handy having the car park building across the road it was a shame to have to pay $25 each day to park there. There were really no other free options nearby. I dined once at the Promenade restaurant and was disappointed in both the food and the service. I had the chicken and it was very bland. The presentation was very dull. It was only as I ate my last mouthful did someone come and check if everything was OK with the food. I guess I expected a lot more.

Location is divine, on the beach and right next to the free tram that takes you into the city. They have discounted parking onsite, but they don't advertise the discount so be sure to pay for your parking at the reception rather than in the adjacent car park. The room was spacious and extremely clean. The STAFF were INCREDIBLE. My partner and I came back for a supper and hoped to eat on the pool level balcony and watch the sunset. We were initially confronted with a sign that told us not to bring food and drink into the pool area, but a passing staff member insisted it was okay on the balcony and even moved a table and two chairs out for us to have a romantic setting. They were so doting and friendly.

The only drawback was the room view. We knew, upon booking, that we would have a city view rather than the beach view- which is totally fine. But, the view ended up directly facing the dirty backstreets behind the hotel with bins and litter everywhere. A minor detail though for an overall fantastic stay.
