Great location within easy walking distance from shops and cafes and good value for money. Loved the extra large towels. Easy check in with great instructions. Parking facilities on site which was good. Impressed with the tea/coffee sachets in the room which kept us going for our 4 night stay. Felt strange having self check in and not seeing anyone when we checked in or out (although we did bump into the housekeeper towards the end of our stay, who was very friendly and asked if there was anything we needed). Maybe this is the way of the future?

Room felt cramped. Not much room to put your clothes into other than a hanging space type wardrobe. However I appreciate that they were trying to make the most of the space there was and they did. The only sink in the place was in the bathroom and it was very tiny. Difficult to fill kettle. Bathroom toiletries high up on window ledge which a short person wouldn’t be able to reach (such as myself). I did mention this on leaving and the housekeeper said they were thinking of putting in shower caddies to hold the toiletries.

The close proximity to town.

The bathroom was really small and you could feel the cold air under the flooring. The pillows were uncomfortable and I forgot to bring my own.

Everything was very nice and comfortable but we needed an extra blanket as we were cold . No electric blankets . Ended up putting the towels on the bed for extra warmth

We had a beautiful Queen room on the top floor with juliette balcony overlooking the street. It's a very special room, cleverly renovated, and we really enjoyed it. The twin vanity, double shower, were particularly stunning and I was very happy to have my own personal vanity to spread out on, do makeup, beauty routine, while my husband had his own vanity for shaving. It was a nice touch to this lovely, relaxing space. Despite having street frontage, we didn't find the street noise invasive. The location, if you enjoy centre of town stays, was fantastic. At 6am can be across the street in a jiffy to grab coffee and cookie from Beechworth Bakery and there's a cafe next to it called Wild Thyme that does the best healthy breakfasts! The best fish and chips down the road at Roksalt. Everything we could wish for is within reach of Velo, including easy walks to the river. There is untimed parking in the carpark opposite Velo and 2 hr timed parking in front for unloading/loading luggage. We would definitely stay here again.

It's all self check in and out and other than a lovely lady who took our room number when we arrived, things felt impersonal and clinical. I expect that from airbnb when the host isn't on site, but I guess I hadn't realised Velo was that kind of accommodation. We know now and are prepared for it next time. Didn't bother us, but for those who struggle with stairs, there are two flights of stairs to the top floor rooms and the stairwells are steep. Lighting in the bathroom is very dim and on the second night, during early evening, we went for showers and had no hot water for quite some time. The bed was too firm for us, but that's not a negative because a lot of people like firm beds. These are all minor things that haven't put us off another short stay in the future.

This hotel is exceptional. Check-in was simple, the room is beyond stunning and absolutely silent even though it faced the road, the location is excellent and having the bar and restaurant attached meant not having to face the cold winter nights when we wanted dinner or drinks. The shower in the room (room 1) rates its own mention. It’s spectacular!

Nothing really - we just weren’t smart enough to figure out how to stream to the TV when my husband wanted to watch the football. We kept getting sound but no visuals. That’s user error though.

Review Absolutely loved our stay at Bright Velo! The host was amazing — they couldn’t have done more for us and even gave us a free upgrade to the VIP suite. The suite was beautifully renovated with modern amenities, luxurious bedding, and high-quality linen — super comfortable and stylish. Location

Bright Velo is located in the heart of Bright where cafes and river are just a short walk away and the bike track is right next door. You would think that it would be noisy, but it really wasn't. We didn't hear a thing from any other guests or people in Bright for the entire length of our stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the room (family room) was much bigger than we expected and the bike storage was easy and secure. We were surprised to find that that complimentary toiletries were of an unusually high standard. The staff are warm and welcoming and check in was too easy. From now on, this will be the place where we will stay when we are in Bright.

We liked everything about it.

I highly recommend this accomodation; central location and lovely decor. The highlight was super friendly Naomi, who made our room spotless and gave my husband and I some great sightseeing tips.

we stayed therefor 2 nights and we love the accomodation except for some guest ( indian background) so noisy while heating up their food at 10-11pm… they closed the microwave door so loud and talked so loud to the point that they are disturbing our sleep. they do not care of other people sleeping already.

What a lovely surprise when you open the door of your room at Bright Velo - the room was huge and a quirky mix of old pieces of lovely furniture with modern makeover. Newly renovated bathroom was fabulous with the biggest fluffiest towels I've ever come across - plus washers, real soap and big bottles of lovely toiletries. Beds were very comfy and the aircon worked a treat during the hot day, but perfect to have off over night. Despite being right in the middle of town, walking distance to everything, it was so very quiet at night. Susie and Tim both fabulous communicators.

Nothing to not like, but just for feedback - the freezer door wasn't closing properly so you will be spending more than you should on electricity keeping it freezing! But a full size fridge is also a great added bonus if you are travelling longer term and have an esky-full of food to store somewhere.

Bright Velo is exceptional, especially considering how cheap the rooms are. My room had everything that you could desire for one night or up to a week. I can see why you would use this accommodation as a base for cycling, hiking and motorcycling in the Victorian high country. Just a step above everything I’ve stayed in for the rest of my trip from Brisbane to Phillip Island.

If I had to think of anything, it would only be that there were no security screens on the ground floor windows.
