I loved everything about this place. I stayed in Lomindra cottage and it was beautiful, comfortable & clean. I was supplied with lots of yummy breakfast provisions, lots of firewood, and seeds to feed the birds. It was a wonderful opportunity to disconnect from the busy world and be in nature. I loved how private the cottage was. The local wildlife was superb, and the cheeky alpacas were a treat! It was a short 10 min drive into the heart of Lakes Entrance. The host Peter was very friendly and had local recommendations. Note to guests that there is no wifi and very limited mobile reception. I will be recommending Araluen Cottages to my friends and will definitely return as I pass through again.

I loved everything

Araluen Park cottages are amazing! Close to but really away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy Lakes Entrance, they are ideal for a peaceful stay among the nature. Hosts are amazing! Peter is such a gentleman and Marie is really an artist! Rooms are big, beautiful, and comfortable. Kitchen was well-stocked. Hosts arranged ingredients for breakfast, which was great. Because these cottages are nestled among the nature, it is easy to spot many birds, prominent among those are King Parrots and Crimson Rosella. With a bit of patience and observation, you can spot several birds. We were lucky to see a wombat as well. The resident alpacas were friendly. It is a lovely quiet place, so it was nice not to have WiFi and limited mobile reception. On a hot day, we did not mind being just there the whole day. We are sure to visit again.

A beautiful bush setting surrounded by parrots and birds of all varieties; very peaceful; a lovely spot within 5 minutes drive of Lakes Entrance. The best of both worlds. A special thank you to Peter who accommodated my special needs with pleasure.

One think to be mindful of is your Sat Nav (don't turn off before you get to Lakes Entrance town centre). You will end up being navigated through a four wheel drive track that resembles a roller coaster!! Drive into Lakes Entrance and then make your way from there.

A much needed birthday nature retreat, away from the daily hustle and bustle. It is good to be disconnected in a world where we are constantly on our phones. Personalized welcome by owner & attention to detail in cottage. Well stocked fridge, even little welcome cookies to greet you. Nitric Birds that comes so close to you, loved it. Seeds provided for birdfeeding too. Above all, loved how sustainable the cottages are. I felt right at home in Lilly Pilly the 2 nights I were there

Only thing I found a bit tricky is to maintain the right hot water temperature, but that wasn't a real problem. Just quick hot shower.

Very well presented cottage that is tastefully appointed and has lots of extras. The fridge is well stocked with breakfast goodies and i suspect the eggs are home grown. Lots of books and DVD's as well as free to air TV. Large bedroom and ensuite added to the comfort of our stay. The Kitchen is decently appointed making self catering easy. There is even some seed to host the visiting FIFO wildlife. The resident Alpachas seem to watch your every move and apparently don't mind the occasional slice of apple. Lovely couple of days.

Exceptional property, well maintained and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Located in a quiet secluded area surrounded by nature, but not too far from the main strip of town (~10 min drive). Peter was very welcoming and ensured he greeted me upon arrival. He explained the workings of the cottage and had some nice recommendations about things to do in town. Breakfast was provided and the cottage was surrounded by lot of beautiful birds and Alpacas. It even had an outdoor bath which was amazing. Loved everything about the stay. Highly recommended

Nothing. Only thing I'd like to mention is that this property does not have wifi and barely gets mobile reception; so if you are planning to do a working holiday, it might not be the best fit

We really enjoyed how cozy and peaceful the whole cottage was and because of it we slept really well every day! We appreciated the plenty of animals as well which was adorable to see. The alpacas were definitely a highlight for sure, really fun to feed them!

I almost do not want to give a review since this place is amazing. The alpacas, the birds, providing birdseed, the incredibly fresh eggs, the location, the extremely nice cottage. All made for such a relaxing weekend getaway that I will never forget. My partner loves birds and the morning feeding really made her trip that much memorable. I really do hope that there will be time in the near future when we can book here again. The outside bathtub is a really nice touch for those brave enough to bathe outdoors.

It is so minor but the kitchen chairs are really hard. Otherwise there is very little that one can say negatively about this place. Be prepared for ants outside everywhere, but I consider that to be part of nature!

Great location away from the madding crowd about a 10 minute drive into Lakes Entrance. Wonderful birdlife all around the property. Fantastic log burner with plenty of logs and kindling. Very comfy bed. Well appointed all round with lots of character. Great tips from the owner for places to see locally.

The quietness of the place. The bush setting is beautiful and the variety of birds that visit is amazing - waking to the sounds of bird song. The breakfast provided is generous and tasty. The decoration of the cottage is creative and thoughtful. The wood fire provides wonderful warmth throughout the whole cottage on a chilly night.

We like it just as it is.
