This is a unique bed and breakfast. Built with salvaged materials, it is more like a friend's cottage than a motel. The view from the balcony of the stars at night and the birds in the morning was great. My electric blanket made it hard to leave the bed in the morning. Everything was laid out in our room for breakfast (mini fridge with milk, juice and yougurt, bread for toaster and a kettle for tea and coffee-there was enough food and variety for my hungry sons). We had the family room which worked well for us (the whole upper floor) including a large dining table. Although not walking distance to any restaurants or shops, we brought takeaway from town. The family room is open to the downstairs common room which could be an issue if your family is noisy or the other guests are loud.

I missed the driveway and had to turn around in a tight spot. Go slowly when close as the entrance is not obvious if you are tired or it is dark (I also missed missed receiving a message with further arrival details due to issues with my phone so that didn't help).

The experience was like staying with a relative - the rooms are cosy, lively, and homey, and the decor is a kind of maximalist country eclectic. I found this a pleasant change from the homogeneous Airbnb style. The communal guest kitchen had a homey feel and was well equipped - I mean, REALLY well equipped, which again, seems rare. We made great use of the lounge area overlooking the ocean where I did some reading while sipping a Muscat. A storm rolled over the ocean during the afternoon (right on sunset) which was spectacular, perhaps the highlight of the stay. Walking distance to Golf Course and beach (a straight line down hill).

While the location gives you elevated ocean views and peace and quiet - you will need a vehicle (or at least a bicycle) to access the town centre as it is beyond walking distance for all but the keenest. On balance, still worth it.

A very interesting only 22 year old structure made from recycled materials which gave it a near 80 year old look. The furnishings- especially the decorative wall hangings and other bits & pieces looked like an antique collector's treasure. The cereal breakfast was was not just a small box of cereals - but a very good concoction of cereals - plus a small tub of yoghurt and fruit. Great views from the living room and balcony of our bedroom - overlooking the bay water and golf course

Nothing of which I can think

An excellent Continental Breakfast - but NOT just a "little" packet of ceral/s. The cererals were "largish" grain in a big jar plus museli - and a tub of yoghurt plus fruit - banana & orrange and fresh milk. We had a great view from our bedroom and even better from the balcony attached to our bedroom. A very comfortable bedroom plus a separate bathroom with a rolled top bath tub plus a shower. Excellent.

There is nothing at this B & B that would bring a negative comment.

Staff were very friendly and the whole place felt incredibly homely. The view from our room was insane and there were binoculars provided to look out onto the ocean to see the ships go by. We played D&D on the dining table and it was plenty roomy for that. Food considerations were taken in effect and the continental breakfast was plenty for breakfast. Reccomended spot for groups who enjoy boardgames with a view.

The shared bathroom had two doors and one couldn't close properly. A heads up to those who are nightbirds, the floor is a little creaky.

I was very kindly given an upgrade as the room I'd booked had very low ceilings which could have caused me a few problems! I was moved to the upstairs area which was utterly sensational. The views of the strait are superb and I could have just spent the day onsite relaxing! It's a fabulous old house that's been kept in great condition and the period pieces are really charming. The bedroom and bathroom were excellent and I would stay here again no problem at all.

Nothing, my stay here was superb and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Friendliness of host (Sheree), being able to have our dog with us, free wi-fi, fresh scones with jam and cream in the afternoons, hot cooked breakfast, the spa, comfy bed, view, "at home" feel with other guests.

Bumping our heads on the lower parts of the ceiling. It wasn't super clean in the room, a bit dusty which isn't surprising given it's on a dirt road,

This place is delightful but quirky, a bit like a European youth hostel from the 70s, but more fun. It has communal living rooms and a kitchen (for people and dogs) but private bedroom for over 20 people. The bad was fine, the shower was fine. I didn’t need the spa. It was great that continental breakfast was provided. The resident caretaker was extremely welcoming and even phoned me at the beach to say she had made scones for afternoon tea.

The huge amount of decorative stuff was interesting but would have been hard to sanitise in the pandemic.

Loved that they allowed our two little dogs - this was crucial to us. They spoiled us with lovely cooked breakfasts and little extras in our room such as orange juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt and muesli bars. The Easter Bunny even came. We had views of the beach from our room. The place was cute and quirky and cosy and good value for money.

The rain meant we shortened our stay by one day.

My Kelpie, Jasper and I had a wonderful stay at The Goat and Goose B&B. Our room was so cute, like a small cottage attached to the 3 storey accommodation. So dog friendly, that your dogs are allowed in the main communal area kitchen / dinning shared by all . As well as in your room too. Sheree is a wonderful host who provides a generous continental breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, juice, milk , muesli, cereal, yoghurt, bread and spreads. Not to mention her very yummy home made scones with fresh cream and jams Thankyou Sheree, we will be back .
