The Goat and Goose offers a delightful stay and ticks all of the boxes. Our number one priority was a welcome stay for our dogs and Lynn greeted them with affection and they were made to feel very welcome. The ocean view from our room was spectacular and I could imagine whiling away winter days just gazing out over the blue from the warmth of the studio. A huge private deck with sun lounges would be fabulous to enjoy in summer. Parrots and kookaburras visited while we were there and had no qualms about hanging out with the humans. The rooms were perfectly clean and the sleep quality was excellent in the luxurious queen-size four-poster bed. The property is set on a hill overlooking the ocean and a short drive from the Lakes Entrance main town which would make it even more appealing during high season if you wanted to be free from crowds. Added bonuses included a delicious vegan breakfast in a cosy dining room with spectacular views (binoculars were part of the furnishings) and very quirky decor. It is obvious the host takes great pride in her BnB offering and makes it her mission to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.
The in-room spa-bath/shower wasn't our cup of tea but we agreed that many couples would love popping a champagne cork and enjoying the vibe.

The room had a fantastic ocean view. It was mostly rainy while I was staying there. But the view when the sky cleared briefly on the last day was fantastic. I also loved the bathtub in the room too. Such a relaxing time. The room I stayed in had little wifi connection but the host invited me to use and stay in the lounge area anytime where there was a good wifi connection.
Without a car, it was quite a bit of a way to the town since there isn't a place to get food nearby. But that will cause no trouble for those traveling in a car as there are some nice shops and restaurants in town.

One of the best B&B properties I've visited in Australia. The host, Lynne, has done a fantastic job with the space—it’s welcoming, thoughtfully arranged, and full of character. The king-sized room gave us access to the entire upper floor with a private living and dining area, which made the stay feel more like a luxurious retreat. The highlight was the night sky—absolutely breathtaking and full of stars, creating a serene and magical atmosphere. The breakfast was also great and well-prepared, with everything we needed for a relaxed morning.
The only minor issue was the location—it was slightly tricky to find initially. The last 100–200 meters to the property is quite steep, but manageable, especially with an SUV. This is worth noting for smaller vehicles, but it’s definitely not a dealbreaker given how exceptional the property is overall.

Our room was cosy with a spa and nice, linen and towels were also of a good quality. We had a Microwave crockery and cutlery available. These were washed and returned when we used them, so great service. Our room had a view of the surf along the 90 mile beach and a set of binoculars also supplied in our room. Breakfast is Vegan and no dairy products are provided, but fruit and a really lovely oatmeal and fruit compote with maple syrup along with toast and various toppings filled us. Coffee any way you like it was provided along with Tea.
We didn't have anything to complain about. Lyn the owner was upset that our TV did not work. It was not a problem for us as we both had good books to read. The TV had a broken ariel connector we discovered but it did not cause us a problem. The only thing that would have been useful was another comfortable chair as there was only one in our room. (I know a first world problem)

Every detail in this adorable and quirky bnb has been meticulously curated to delight you. The main house itself looks like it has leapt from the screen of a Studio Ghibli animation. The room we stayed in was overflowing with charming objects, most of which were actually useful (yes I would like to light an incense stick!), and included a generous, fully functional two person jacuzzi (divine!). At breakfast you'll be treated by the lovely hostess to a delicious and thoughtfully arranged spread. You'll be looked after so well it will feel as if you were in your own family home (maybe better depending on where you've come from!). Can't thank Goat & Goose enough for the cutest most memorable stay I've had at any accommodation in years.
That we had to leave.

Our hostess was delightful ~ personable, friendly, caring and professional. She takes pride in her business and property. Our room was cozy, the bed comfortable, and all linens fresh. Fresh fruit in a bowl and and binoculars on the window sill were nice touches.. The breakfast was thoughtfully presented with a large variety of cereals, breads, spreads, fresh fruit, teas, juices, specialty coffees as well as freshly cooked breakfast items. Gluten free, vegan and plant based foods were readily available. We would absolutely recommend The Goat and Goose and would stay there again!
Can't think of a thing!

The view is spectacular, the room is crazy-comfortable and the breakfast is to die for. Have you ever noticed that most bed and breakfasts don't do a proper breakfast, if at all? Not the Goat and Goose! Lynne is such a lovely, generous host who has a strong sense of connection to and responsibility for, her unique BnB. Mostly, the property is very dog-friendly which is a must for us. This is a perfect place to chill out and unwind with lovely walks all close by. This is our second stay here and we will be back again and again.

Homely and quirky environment with amazing views, comfortable bed, good location and hospitable host. The host went above and beyond with a great breakfast on both mornings. The spa bath was clean and a lovely feature. We peacefully used the environment to unwind after a short trip to lakes entrance, the beach and a local winery during the day.
The top floor is large and has an open balcony to the entry area so it wasn't as private as we thought but it wasn't an issue as we had access to private room, bathroom and balcony.

Continental breakfast self serve in the dining room with good choices, and on last day Lyn cooked us some Asian specialties which was delicious
We loved this place for something really different to a regular hotel. Our host was really friendly, and we loved that we could bring our little dog. There are great walks and bike riding opportunities to get to the beach, and if the weather was not nice the accom was perfect for sitting by the fire or relaxing on a comfy couch. Beautiful views and lovely decking for warmer days. The house is really gorgeous, and all guest rooms were very private and separate from the host and other guests.

Everything about this property is perfection, from the views, to the decor, to the gardens, to the ambience, to the beautiful host, Lynne. Everything here has been so carefully and mindfully planned, and the execution of the design and maintenance of the property are downright perfection. The strangest thing is that although it is a large property and seems to be becoming quite a significant business, and is sometimes busy, It never ever feels busy! it has the air of a tiny Airbnb and it is always just so calm and peaceful. The house is massive, with beautiful large decks too to appreciate the views, so there is plenty of space for everybody to move. And what a bonus that it is pet friendly!
Nothing not to like!
