I recently stayed at this motel and was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and relaxing the setting was. One of the standout features is the beautiful lake just across the road—perfect for a morning walk, unwinding with a coffee, or simply soaking in the view. The location offers a lovely little escape from the daily hustle. The motel itself is modest but very clean and comfortable. The room had a warm, homely touch that made the stay feel extra cozy. The staff were welcoming, and check-in was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, it’s a great choice if you're looking for a quiet place with nature right at your doorstep. I'd definitely stay again—especially for that lake view and the comforting vibe of the room

It was very clean and presented very well, for its age. It was the small touches and tasteful additions that made our stay more enjoyable, so a big thank you to the staff and management for that!!

Two small things we didn’t like so much were to do with accessibility. Firstly, a large step up into the unit is a little dangerous. Need a small rail to hold on to, and a second lower step. And having a step down into the shower recess was also a bit dangerous. I didn’t ask or request a room with accessibility features, but my Mum who was with me found those two things very difficult!!

The room is equipped with a big fridge and freezer, induction cooker, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and some basic cooking utilities which is best for staying in lake entrance where you can get fresh seafood and make some simple meals especially when restaurants close early. The room is spacious, clean and staff are friendly. Room also provided some snacks, instants noodles and drinks with reasonable prices which is very convenient for the guests. Free home make cookies and fresh milk also provided when check in, which make guests feel very welcome.

The location of air-conditioning is far from the room. That will be great if the air-conditioning is in middle of living room which closer to the room. Room have equipped with a hanging fan.

The room was lovely and they had thought of everything! It was clean and spacious too! The reception team and manager were really helpful especially because we arrived much late than anticipated! We only stayed for one night but the location is pretty as it’s right across the road from the water! Parking was ample as long as you only have 1 car per room and it was quiet too!

The wifi got a bit slow around 10:15pm but we just went to sleep so wasn’t too bad at all! The shower/boiler makes a weird squeaking sound for about a minute or so when you turn it on but wasn’t a bother at all, literally stopped and the shower was lovely!

Attention to detail. A few reviews have mentioned this but this place is very clean. Staff are attentive and there are some well-thought of little gestures of kindness (i won’t spoil the surprises) which make the long drive worth it. Its a good bang for your buck. Walking distance to the ocean for swims, the lake and town are also well within walking distance (few minutes). The room has all the basic amenities , tv streams and connects to Netflix and Prime (internets a bit slow but its not impossible to stream). Comfortable, clean, wireless charging docks for phones. Perfect stay and well worth the money. We will be staying here for future visits :)

It was a last minute decision for us to book in & no regrets.

I had a great stay at Sandbar Motel. The motel is right by the lake, and the views were beautiful. My room was clean, comfortable, and had a great view of the water. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in easy. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, perfect for a peaceful getaway. I also liked the free Wi-Fi and the outdoor areas by the lake. For the price, it was excellent value. I highly recommend Sandbar Motel if you’re looking for a quiet, lakeside place to stay—I’ll definitely return!

Absolutely nothing.

I recently stayed at this old motel that has been nicely renovated, and it was a great experience. The room was comfortable, with cozy beds and modern amenities, but still kept some of the old charm. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the motel is in a good location—quiet but close to everything you need. The motel offers great value with clean, updated rooms, free high speed Wi-Fi, and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable stay.

Nothing at all.

The location was good, quite close to the main cafe area which was helpful. Just a few minutes walk to the bridge leading to the beach. The owners were friendly. The supply of kitchen utensils was excellent.

I felt it was expensive for what we got. The settee was not comfortable, and the decor a bit outdated, especially the bathroom. The information says “garden view” but it is really just a strip of grass usually obscured by the parked cars. I found it a bit surprising that we were not allowed a paper receipt when we booked it because they are an eco hotel, but then we’re recommended a cafe 20km away when there are plenty of cafes in Lakes Entrance itself.

We had a King room for 2 nights. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The room was spacious and quiet. There were nice touches like little welcome chocolates and welcome handwritten note with homemade chocolate chip cookies on arrival. The bathroom was a good size. Easy flat walk into cafes and club for dinner. Directly opposite the walking path running along the lake.

Nothing to complain about at all. We had a lovely stay.
